  1. The thing is, who is "the club" that should be doing it? The club is just people, and everybody has plenty of work to do. If all the SLO had to do was respond to queries, complaints and suggestions on just this site, it would be a full time job. Never mind looking after 4000 fans. The SLOs will be part of the club and take on that responsibility. It keeps fans engaged, and reduces the overhead on the other members of staff who have a business to run. Worth a try, in my view.
  2. As far as I know, Las has his badges and has been actively involved in the coaching side the last few seasons. Faddy did not have all his badges and wasn't, as far as I know, heavily involved on the coaching side. I think it's irrelevant, however, as Robinson seems to be a hands-on kinda manager and not reliant on an assistant to organize and run training. So whoever is 2nd in command will just be doing exactly what he tells them to do.

Well, that or the bear costumes were old and smelly and nobody wanted to wear them any more.
  4. Like I said in a different thread, for me, black has no place on a football kit and the away offering is pretty underwhelming. Looks like a generic training top with a badge slapped on it. I like black tops, just not as football shirts. However, I'm not the target demographic, so it doesn't matter.

Noel Fielding is doing Bake Off now. If he designed it, it would probably be a steak pie.
  6. The EPL is running with funds running in the billions and with a product that is watched in hundreds of countries across the globe. They create schedules with that audience in mind. It's a completely different world with completely different requirements in a completely different business model.
  7. Complaints not just about the quality of a guy whose identity we don't know combined with complaints about the nature of his contract and the way we announced it, are why I try and avoid this thread over the summer. When the club keep things quiet, people complain aboit lack of activity. When they communicate their intentions, it's still not good enough. We will likely still be doing business in August. Everybody relax and enjoy your holidays - then enjoy the new team, new pitch and new roof when you get back.
  8. The order in which players arriving are announced doesn't reflect our priority. It only reflects how quickly we were able to finalize contracts.

Do my jokes need explaining now? I'd better have a lie down and recharge.
  10. Only if he has signed a pre-contract - those only cover specific scenarios. These days there could be all sorts of deals, clauses, options, extensions, bonuses, cross border exceptions, development fees and who knows what else that can play a part in timings and cost of a deal.
  11. Maybe his current registration/contract doesn't expire until the end of the month.

Do we dump bears in the woods?
  13. Even the worst marketing department in the world wouldn't use an NYPD Police Car to welcome an Australian who once played in Seattle (3,000 miles away from NYC) and most recently played in Coventry (3,500 miles away from NYC)
  14. Were they not in the Magic Roundabout?

Well you don't sound like the Tannoy announcer, because I made out every word.
  16. 1 year to give him time to bloom, else he's on gardening leave, bud.

From what 'Flo was saying regarding "creative ways" to fund a new scoreboard, I'm hoping any refurbishment is covered by a sponsor. Given the ubiquity of smartphones at games, I agree it wouldn't be great value - unless it was one of those that showed action replays etc.

We're re-laying the old turf on the roof and Community Trust will rent it out for "Extreme Five Aside".

I think you just won this thread.
  22. I don't now the exact figures, but there is certainly a decent bump in cash next season. Which is why it was even more crucial than normal to stay in the top flight.
  23. My old man thinks Mrs Brown's Boys is funny Seriously, though, my preference for wingers and full backs is to be naturally footed for the side the play on, but I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions.
  24. They release those strips for the youngsters that weren't lucky enough to be at Hampden that day.
