I still haven't recovered from losing to Airdrie in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final replay.
In general, though, with the time differences involved, if we lose on a Saturday I'm over it by the time I have my lunch.
As much as we like to talk about goal difference, I can't remember us ever having to rely on that. It's all about the points right now, and that is 100% up to us.
We do need to score more than one, though, as we never win 1 - 0.
Moult went off injured on Saturday, so it's no big secret.
If he was injured training during the week I can see how it makes sense to keep it quiet, but in this case - as Andy_P says - it just means Accies have to prepare for 2 different scenarios.
If any of our central defenders are expecting Samson to come out for it, they obviously haven't been watching any of our previous games.
So instead, they'll need to compete with the guy they are supposed to be marking and maybe clear it themselves.
He rolled up on 14th Feb 2015, after which we won 7, drew 3 and lost 6 of our last 16 (including the play-offs). Not brilliant, but not bad - and we'd only won 4 league games since August before he joined us.
Robinson's post match was also good to hear. Set up with a positive approach because what we'd done for the last 20 games "obviously wasn't working" and thought that this "was a game we could win".
No coincidence he was involved in the play-off win.
Early days, I know, but I'm already a big fan of his approach.
He must have been reading the posts on here.
A few weeks ago, when I pointed out our lack of ability to score more than one goal in a game, was it not you that jumped in to tell me our strikers were doing just fine?
Obviously I hope we get something from this game, but if nothing else it's great to see a Motherwell manager finally take the game to this mob on their own patch. It won't work every time, but in the long run, it will work more often than our usual tactics.
I assume we still have the scouting system in place that Les implemented. And Robinson said in one of his interviews that he had good knowledge of the lower leagues.
So I'm hoping we already have a few ideas of how to replace Skippy and Moult. If we can sell on Moult and bring in a decent replacement that will be another success in our current business model.
Haha, aye I was thinking that when I wrote it.
When it comes to Rangers games, though, I think we are all in the same boat. I think the last time I fancied us winning was when Tommy McLean was the gaffer.
Best chance ever.
Weak Rangers side.
Defence we can exploit.
New manager giving us a better organization.
Due a win.
etc.etc.
3 - 1 Rangers who then go onto lose their next 4 games.
I can't get excited about this fixture. Sooner or later our mob will surprise me, but I'm not holding my breath.
