  1. Any senior player that a manager has built up a relationship with over the years, I'd imagine.
  2. I think there are a few "senior" professionals who don't train as often as others. Regardless, if someone comes in with an offer for Skippy, he's no different from any other player. Take the money and move on. Managers, player and agents play these games every window and its ridiculously pointless. I have no idea who they think they are fooling with their "no way we are selling, ridiculously low offer, seeing out his contract, improved offer not enough, bench him for being unsettled, reluctantly selling, goes with our best wishes" patter. We are all adults here. We get it. Sometimes we lose out from the game, sometimes we benefit (like with Porter or Coke). As for Skippy - when we he left the first time there was no dip in his performance as he ran down his contract. He doesn't seem like that kind of player.
  3. If we do, I'd be amazed if he close to fit enough to last more than about 45 mins. Quite a gap to bridge.
  4. Left winger, two and half years, small (I imagine) transfer fee - sounds like a perfect fit for our moneyball model. If he can perform at the same level could be a great signing.
  5. McCarthy on loan? That would help solve our creative mid problem.

    Fir Park

Changing Fir Park to all seated took half the atmosphere away. Sitting in seats that are too narrow, with no leg room and the acoustics of a tin roof while watching a game on a plastic pitch could kill it completely. You're right about Lego, though - most of those are much better than anything we could afford.
  7. Well he also said McDonald was staying put - but you never know. When it comes to transfers, he doesn't give much away.
  8. Out: goalkeeping coach to Northampton.
  9. Mind games. At this stage of the season a day off here and there shouldn't affect their physical fitness, so the coaching staff is trying to clear their heads ready for doing them over on Saturday.

We could also have some healthy snacks in our Fruit Corner.
  11. As long as the womenfolk are still barred. I mean, we have to draw the line somewhere. (I feel like in this internet age I need to put a smiley after this one to prevent a public witch hunt on social media - thanks Twitter!)
  12. That's often the case during the window when a player wants a move. The good players just knuckle down for a few months afterwards and get themselves an even better deal. The ones that throw their toys out the pram are taking a bigger risk.
  13. We should only serve them Murphy's or Jameson's.
  14. They want to keep him because they are currently 2nd in the division and are pushing for promotion into the big leagues. That will be worth much more than any transfer fee they pick up for him in the window. If they end up in the play-offs, even that will make them more money. I understand his frustration, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a club wanting to have a player play for them for the duration of his contract.
  15. So we still have a player in the Scottish Cup then? Good times.
  16. Seems like there was a bidding war between two rival Egyptian teams. That's what you need to bump up prices.
  17. The Super Sixteen, presumably - or maybe, keeping in the "Elite" mould, the Superior Sixteen.
  18. We bring in players too. In fact, in a recent interview, Craigan said we might have to bring in some more during the window because we were short on numbers.
  19. I may be misremembering, but in my lifetime it feels like we have typically done better against Celtic. I always thought it was because they tend to be more of a football team that let you play a bit more while Rangers rely more on strength and power - something we typically struggle to combat.
  20. If he was a rugby player he'd have been back on the pitch 2 minutes later after quick adjustment from the trainer. Seriously though, hopefully he's not out too long as his development was moving in the right direction. And the U20s could use his services in the semi-final.
  21. Missed opportunity there to recreate The Red Wedding.
  22. Forget about the Elite Eight. We have proved again that at a minimum we should be a part of the Fantastic Four (or Fabulous Four if we are looking to be more inclusive).
  23. We need to drop this 'season over, chat. Staying in the top flight is essential this year and if the players start thinking the season is over the Championship beckons.
  24. For all his faults, Baraclough won us the playoff game because he went there with the right attitude - not the jaded approach taken by McGhee and McCall with their "need them to have an off day" patter and then line up too defensively. If we'd just turn up and get stuck in we couldn't have a worse record in the last 20+ years than we do now, but for some reason successive managers think changing tactics that see us consistently lose is the way to play.
  25. Business as usual. I never expect anything from a game at Ibrox and always get what I expect. Our record there is beyond embarrassing.
