  1. Aye, but just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean that people calling it Castle Greyskull aren't wrong. It would be like calling a weird looking guy with pointy ears and no sense of humour, "Captain Kirk".
  2. Well that's OK then - let'stake it away from all members just because you can't use a computer! Seriously though, I have found it to be a great resource as an overseas memmber and will be wanting to keep my subscription active. I did suggest to Alison at the outset that overseas Well Society folks should get a free sub every year seeing as we won't be able to use any of the other discounts/benefits etc. associated with the membership. Seems to have fallen on deaf ears though.
  3. Spent ages trying to work out who he reminds me of in that picture. Then it dawned on me - that actor from "The Hills Have Eyes"

Of course. Like every other football manager he will leave or we will sack him. Aye, it would be terrible if he stuck around and put a new squad together.
  5. Then his daddy needs to just say it instead of indicating it. No wonder agents are hated.
  6. And why does he have to "indicate through his father"? Can he no' just speak for himself.

If the next rebuild goes as well as the last one we have nothing to worry about.

While I'm sure he has a say in these matters, it's really the board that makes decisions like this.

But not Stuart Hall (despite his commitment to a youth policy)* *too soon?
  10. Worst case scenario is that I lose my job, contract a flesh eating disease and my house burns down while I'm in hospital getting my legs amputated. This is just fitba' and we have survived much worse. We have enjoyed a high level of consistency in the past few years, but whether you are East Stirling or Barca, there will always be periods where that dips - especially during rebuilding. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing the new team being built.
  11. To be fair, you only need to look at their impressive stats against the likes of Berwick Rangers, Montrose and Stirling Albion to see how tempting an offer that would be to any player. Who couldn't resist the lure of Forfar on a wet Wednesday night? Law has head his head turned by those kind of glamour fixtures and it's easy to see why.
  12. Honestly? The challenge every time. Life (and work) gets pretty boring without challenges and, more importantly, it can severely limit your career if you choose not to develop your skills.
  13. I said at the time that Bob Malcolm shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Fir Park, and it's nothing to do with the Rangers thing.
  14. We had a UK super cup (Texaco Cup) and it was quite super for a year or two before the clubs lost interest and it became the Anglo-Scottish Cup bore-fest.

Sevco's delusions of grandeur by that stage will have them looking for a 'big' name. After McCoist's failure they will likely want to steer of ex-players for a while.

Last time around he said it interested him but didn't think he could cope with such limited resources. As he would have less resources this time around I doubt he would be in the frame.
  17. I did - although I paid with credit card.

I'll be surprised if the Utd job goes to anyone other than one of the usual suspects - Warnock, Hughes (even Pulis now) Etc.
  19. Never have a problem about a player being frustrated when subbed. As long as it doesn't carry over I see it as a sign they care.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't fancy a rebuilding job seeing as that was exactly the requirements before he signed his new contract. I'm not saying I'd be surprised if he moved on, but if that is the reason, then it seems strange that he signed a new contract under those conditions.
  21. Two things here. 1) The authorities are 100% guaranteed to overreact to these incidents. 2) Every man and his dog that has been within 100 miles of a football match knows this It's not worth the risk, so why bother.
  22. Exactly. There are exceptions, but these days (especially at our level) there are plenty of available players out there looking for clubs - so a Board usually has plenty of options and can afford to wait to see. Look at the quality of guys we have brought in on frees (from Randolph and Ojamaa to Law and McFadden) and you can see why there isn't a mad rush to pay hard cash these days.
  23. Saw a few emails talking about that and I think an evening to discuss the options was planned. The idea being that, instead of the one-size-fits-all of 25k, there was going to be different price levels of corporate memberships too (plus installment plans).
  24. Gordon's still injured and, by his own admission, has no idea if/when he is likely to be fit. I can't imagine any club signing him until that is clear.
  25. "We are the East Stand Well Bois" "We are the Well Bois of the East Stand" "Splitters!"
