  1. Our valuation won't though, so it doesn't matter.
  2. Is it true that if you look up "non sequitur" in wikipedia there is just a listing of your posts?
  3. No need to make up statistics, even on here. 7 goals in 21 games before he got injured in Feb.
  4. I wasn't in Nancy, so wasn't able to savour the pre-match atmosphere or the pre-match booze. So bearing that in mind, I have to say that the team's performance that day was very poor and big let down after the build up. McGhee set up a very strange formation (especially as we had a team that was built to attack), and the players struggled to string 2 passes together. I don't even think we managed a shot. I have enjoyed plenty of big time occasions with the club, and am not taking a pop at any one. It was a great achievement and an exciting time. As an anti-climax though, it ranks up beside the CIS Cup Final for me. Definitely a case of "you had to be there".
  5. Not a great analogy, even for this place. All of those items listed are designed with obsolescence in mind. It's actually OK to want to hold on to the traditions and identity of a football club, even thought it's becoming more and more difficult. (And yes, I do realise the badge being updated is recent). If we follow the above logic, then Sevco is still Rangers as all they have done is tweak a few business structures on the back end.
  6. We turned down bids for Ojamaa, Law and Hutchinson last season, so we don't just sell at the drop of a hat.
  7. That's another reason I would want all 400k in the bank up front rather than any sketchy future add-ons.
  8. The simplest (although perhaps least favourable) would be to offer no other benefits other than voting rights in the Society. Ultimately, I'd prefer we focused on making communications as transparent and accessible as possible for locals and exiles alike.
  9. If we are offered 400k then let him go (as long as McCall is free to spend the cash). 175k plus "add-ons" is much riskier. If they have 400k to spend, let them give it to us up front.
  10. There was one guy I remember who used to post on here that was definitely Rangers minded (because he actually said so). A few others seem to have more hatred of one side or the other, but that obviously doesn't align them with the side they hate less. I'll be happy to see the back of both them and the sooner they take their sectarian bile elsewhere the better off not just football, but Scotland, will be.
  11. The other discounts offered on season tickets, home match tickets, members open days, free function room hire etc. that I listed above would also swallow up the membership renewal if taken up. I didn't sign up for the 'Well Society for the discount/benefit package, but if the club is intent on selling it to exiles and ex-pats (and trading on that fact in their publicity), it wouldn't hurt to offer *some* discount/benefit we could take advantage of.
  12. Right, but even if that is the case, all that means is that club has the money and the Society has the shares - which was the original intent. The mechanism for creating that situation probably has financial regulation laws that means shares have to be purchased (although that is speculation on my part as I'm out of the loop for UK regulatory stuff these days). From an end result perspective, however, I don't think it makes any difference if we give the club access to the money raised and they donate shares, or if we 'purchase'the shares with Society funds.
  13. I think all that has happened is that the club has given the Society a number of the shares proportional to the cash raised so far. So the Society now has a shareholding and the club has access to the ring-fenced funds to be used as defined by the Society rules. No money has actually been "spent" a such.
  14. OK - so as an ex-pat, here's what I don't get that locally based members do: 5% Discount on Season Ticket Prices 10% Discount on home match day hospitality 10% Discount on home league tickets 10% Discount on all Motherwell FC Events Discount on community and family courses A range of exclusive offers and discounts at the Motherwell store Complimentary function room hire within the stadium And I'm not holding my breath for the DVD. I'm sure if I took advantage of just a fraction of the above it would easily add up to more than 50 quid, so by dint of being an ex-pat I'm saving the club plenty of money by not being able to access any of the above offers. Given that the Society won't even let me join in any of the meetings via Internet Conferencing or Telephone Conference Call, they could throw me a bone with the MFC TV.
  15. I see the patter has taken a break for the summer too.
  16. Aye, that would make sense. I doubt it would break the bank if they just offered it to all Well Society members.
  17. Aye, but just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean that people calling it Castle Greyskull aren't wrong. It would be like calling a weird looking guy with pointy ears and no sense of humour, "Captain Kirk".
  18. Well that's OK then - let'stake it away from all members just because you can't use a computer! Seriously though, I have found it to be a great resource as an overseas memmber and will be wanting to keep my subscription active. I did suggest to Alison at the outset that overseas Well Society folks should get a free sub every year seeing as we won't be able to use any of the other discounts/benefits etc. associated with the membership. Seems to have fallen on deaf ears though.
  19. Spent ages trying to work out who he reminds me of in that picture. Then it dawned on me - that actor from "The Hills Have Eyes"

Of course. Like every other football manager he will leave or we will sack him. Aye, it would be terrible if he stuck around and put a new squad together.
  21. Then his daddy needs to just say it instead of indicating it. No wonder agents are hated.
  22. And why does he have to "indicate through his father"? Can he no' just speak for himself.

If the next rebuild goes as well as the last one we have nothing to worry about.

While I'm sure he has a say in these matters, it's really the board that makes decisions like this.

But not Stuart Hall (despite his commitment to a youth policy)* *too soon?
