  1. He night not be going to an EPL club (although I wouldn't rule that out completely given that guys like McCarthy went to Wigan), but he only needs to look at Ruddy to see how choosing the right lower league team can get you in to the EPL sooner rather than later.
  2. Assuming the job is to take up space on the treatment table. I said during the last transfer window that with such a small squad we can't afford to tie up a wage on him right now. Unless he is on a pay-per-play we need someone who we can rely on being available every game. The guy has barely kicked a ball in earnest in the past couple of years and, unfortunately, is just too high risk for our current finances.
  3. Maybe we could have 3 threads running: 1) One for the "Faddy is Coming Back" love in 2) One for the Freddie Dindeleux "jokes" 3) One for actual Ins & Outs
  4. BBC text commentary is sparse to say the least, but the free kick for the first goal was due to him being fouled. So he has had some part to play, even if minor.
  5. Fox Soccer doesn't show any Scottish games either. Fox Soccer Plus does show some, but a lot of places don't carry that as they can get the EPL on Fox Soccer and ESPN without paying the extortionate extra fees for the Plus channel.
  6. ESPN don't show any Scottish games over here, unfortunately, so you might struggle with that.
  7. Or both. Just posted on shoutbox, but maybe useful here too. I run adblocker plus noscript and ghostery - and don't have any problems. It does sound like he has picked up some malware somewhere, so a full scan with malwarebytes or similar might solve the problem. However, as always, I'd suggest accessing the site on IE once in a while to click on some ads to generate some revenue. EDIT: sorry to stray offtopic, so feel free to move this elsewhere.
  8. I think McCall's comments came after conversations with the Board and he appears, in public at least, to be happy with their ambition. It already sounds like they have knocked backed interest in Ojamaa, for example.
  9. Not really. McCall has said he expected that Murphy would be the one and only and the cash raised would help us keep the others (unless somebody came in with a huge offer).
  10. Killie programme available for download today.
  11. I don't see how we could possibly afford to take on his contract. Boyle was funding his apparently high (by our standard) wages when he we here, and he left for a bigger wad. Unless he took a big pay cut at Sheffield.

    2012

so far so good. ach well, nice while it lasted. For auld yins like me, 2012 ranks among the top 2 or 3 years I can remember. Champions League and the launch of the Well Society made it unique and our final league positions have been excellent. We really have been spoiled as fans the past few seasons, and long may it continue.
  13. We have had plenty of good penalty takers over the years from Brian McLaughlin to Davie Cooper. I would bet, if you look at the stats, our record is fairly average for the SPL, but not as dire as some people make out.
  14. The irony being, of course, that a number of our more successful managers have had strong OF connections. It's pretty difficult to avoid in the small pond that is Scottish football.
  15. I don't see how that first tweet means he didn't want to leave the club. I read it as he did want to leave the club, but not when he was out of contract. Murphy is one of those players (like Faddy) who says and does the right thing, and is rightly respected for that. After his European and youth international exploits, I can't imagine, however, that he doesn't harbour ambitions to test himself elsewhere. He's still a youngster, but managed to clock up about a couple of hundred appearances in the Claret and Amber. Apart from winning a trophy, he has probably achieved about as much as he can with us and I'm sure his colleagues who have played down south have encouraged him to take the next step. I'd be more disappointed if a guy in his position wanted to play at Fir Park for his entire career.
  16. Aye, that's true. McCall has had the chance to use him more often, but his 3 predecessors had a pretty settled defence. Hopefully he will find first team football somewhere (and I'm not just saying that because I bought is training gear on MFC ebay and want the price to go up!)
  17. atdhenet.tv and eplsite.com both advertising the game, so probably pick up a decent stream on one of those.
  18. What formation is that going to be? Plain old 4-4-2 (with Ojamaa and Murph) up top or something complicated we haven't played before like 3-2-3-1-1
  19. I thought he looked mostly decent, but he has been with the club under McGhee, Gannon, Brown and McCall and only managed 14 appearances. It's possible they could all be wrong, but it seems more likely they are seeing something that we don't.
  20. You think SU has less debt than MFC thanks to their insightful forward planning? It also makes you wonder how they ended up in League 1. Was that in the plan too?
  21. Again, only if he signs while he is 23. If a club waits until the 29th August, they can get him for hee-haw. That's a hell of a gamble (unless I'm misunderstanding the current transfer rules).
  22. I'd love to see the alternative proposals from the dissenters on here, including where we can expect these huge offers to come from. EDIT: I'd also imagine that if a club in England waited until after Murphy's birthday in August, there would be no development fee required. If there is a way around it, I'm sure the lawyers and agents will be on it.
