  1. Stick a game on live telly, move the kick-off to 12:15pm, increase ticket prices. You don't need be a member of the SFA Think Tank to see how that is a sure-fire recipe for lower attendance.
  2. Coke was excellent today. I see Billy Dodds on the BBC Text commentary said McGregor's save was "world class"
  3. Still unbeaten and some nice fitba' played. I'll take that. Oh, and well done to JG again for getting his tactics right.
  4. Aye, no idea how he got the job there.
  5. Not as easy as I thought when I saw the replay. Great move, though.
  6. He always scores against us. Even when he was at Dundee. We'll just need to score first.
  7. Neil McCann, I think they said. (You must have been up even earlier than me, Haggis).

    £10 And £5

They'd solve the problem of occasionally disgruntled supporters if the season ticket reverted back to covering all home games. When I first bought mine it was good for League, League Cup, Scottish Cup (and reserve games ). Sometimes you got extra value for money with the home cup ties, sometimes you didn't. I don't now the average number of home cup ties in the past 10 years, but if you stuck, say, 25 quid onto the price of a season ticket and said it included all the cup games again, then it could work out as a decent proposition for fans and the club. They could still sell the "First home tie" version too. Having said all that, I'm all for cutting ticket prices for these types of games, and wouldn't be complaining at these prices if I still had a season ticket.
  9. Read this comment on a story in The Scotsman this morning.
  10. It the past few season it feels like even if we are on form, Rangers could field their U-15s and would still get a result. Half of me hopes that our luck must change soon and the other half is resigned to 3 points lost. Maybe JG will have spotted something we can exploit with a tactical change this time around.
  11. I'd be in favour of that. The only stumbling block might be that Leighton might not take a new job until he has taken Aberdeen to court over his last contract.
  12. A pretty safe bet there I would think.

    Man Utd

Ah, my mistake. I thought we were playing it like the Champions League with lots of meaningless games in between the deciders.

Would that not make Rhyl the British Champs then?
  15. They're missing the retinal rods and cones that humans need to see colour.
  16. I'm surprised at that. Not at the lack of 'Well supporters, but lack of Accies. There was a small core of 'Well fans when I was there, but I knew about 20 Accies fans personally in my year. We all used to head down to Douglas Park together for the derby games (the few seasons that we had any).
  17. Wonder if Leighton will end up at Fir Park. Would be happy to have him join the payroll.
  18. And George Cumming, SPL Ref, Chairman of the FIFA Referee's Committee etc. etc. was my geography teacher.
  19. Aye, Cooper always struck me as a great player who played at Motherwell towards the end of his career. He obviously made a significant contribution, but he's much more closely associated in my mind with Rangers and Clydebank. Wullie P, Joe Wark and the like are the names that lay claim to Greatest Motherwell Player. I can see why other Motherwell fans would vote for Coop though.
  20. I think what he said was that he needed his coaches to multi-task. So if Melly is only going as a goalkeeping coach then Leighton will no doubt be preparing his lawsuit.
  21. The whole philosophy of a club like ours is to develop young players and sell them on. Some young players will see the advantage of sticking around Fir Park for a few years, some will think its better to move on sooner. Some will develop into great players, some will disappear into the lower leagues or out of the game altogether. There is no use in us worrying about who stays and who goes - you can't force anyone to sign a contract. However, there will always be others ready to take their place. Who would have thought, for example, that we would replace Quinn with the former French U-21 Captain? '
  22. Earnock. And, no, I didn't go to school with all of them, I said they all went to my school. Derek Fergsuon was there the same time as me; a couple of years behind (and a right ned). Ally Maxwell is the same age as me, but went to a different school - which is why I only ever played against him in the BB games.
