  1. First time in years, maybe ever, that I've felt secure when we take a 1-0 lead that we'll close it out. Testament to Jack 'n' Victors organisation and coaching. Also thought we looked a better side with the Hump out wide, although Sutton offset that being payed at left mid, tried his best and put in the hard yards, but not his best position. Would've liked to have seen Forbes or McGlinchey on instead of Coke wide left when the Juke went off. Our defence and central mid duo are now possibly the most effective unit I've seen in many a year. We are turning into the new George Graham-stylee Arsenal of the SPL, with 1-0's and tight defence, whooda thunk it....? (Nae complaints from me mind)

Steve Jennings just edging Lasley. No longer a fat Stevie Gerrard, he IS Stevie Gerrard...
  3. At least Craggs would know what a bra was for... (Syd will possibly be the only one to get this)
  4. Its the Captain, take anything that f**ker says relating to us with a pinch of salt the size of the Dead Sea. If it's anything like his spurious 70s attendance stats it'll be p*sh. Craggs and Ross are a decent meedja combo however on Radio Scotland...
  5. Stuffy, Hibs negative..blah, blah, pitch sh*te..yadda, yadda, but ,hey, I'll take three points all day long. It's not so long ago we'd have lost or drawn games like that one and the 'Ammies at FP.

Thought along with many others Murphy and Sutton were quality, and the Hump scorching Murray with a knocked on ball was a highlight. But MOTM for me was Reynolds, calm, assured, used his pace and defensive nous to great effect.
  7. An MJC defeat predicition means all is well with the world and we're on track for at least a point. Wee Doddsy has even tipped a defeat, so confidently predict a stuffy 0-0 or 1-1. A 0-1 to us would be positively tumescent, where's yer pitch excuses now Dug-Oot Monkey Boy?
  8. "Jim Traynor has brain aneurysm live on air in midst of anti-Motherwell rant" "Greggs and Costa Coffee franchises to open on trial basis in East Stand" "Hungarian international midfielder Vadocz returns to Fir Park on three year deal" "Camel racing to replace cheerleaders as half-time entertainment at Fir Park" "Winter 2010-2011 has now passed and the Fir Park pitch is in fine condition"
  9. Yup, Keef was poor by his own standards over the past few games today. You basically need to perm two out of "Keef/Coke/The Fat Gerrard" for the midfield two in a 4. And start the Hump oot wide with O Brien on the other side.
  10. Jennings for me, tidy all game. Sing along now "He's just a fat Stevie Gerrard, a fat Stevie Gerrard..."
  11. More a thud and blunder than a blood and thunder derby. The Accies were stuffy, set up in a 3-4-3 with a very tight 4-3 at the back/midfield which made it tricky for us to play through them, resulting in lot of aimless hoofs throughout the entire game. We managed to contain them for the entire game, however dunno what the inherent thing is in the squad (also under Gannon and McGhee) where we sit back and invite pressure on to oursleves when we take a lead. I'll take a ground out 1-0 any day of the week though, and I hope the horticultural prophets are correct and the pitch finally beds down next winter as I'm f**ked off having to watch the team trying to play on p*sh, and the entire meedja jumping on the "Lets give the Fir Park pitch a kicking again" bandwagon every f**king week. Jim Traynor, suck Satans c*ck, ya fat Airdieonian f**k.
  12. Sean McSkimming. Mind hearing from a Killie-supporting mate how good he was there, he came to us and was p*sh.
  13. Anyone remember Joe McLeod from the late eighties/early 90s? Made Andy Roddie look like Ronaldinho...

Result of the season, on so many levels.
  15. Not in his most famous driving-related incident... The Bob Malcolm driving experience
  16. Good game yesterday, workmanlike, good mix-up of neat passing and direct stuff when appropriate, defence was very solid, jobs a good 'un. The Forbes dilemma is an interesting one, he's not got a lot of pace however has good range of passing and is a dead ball specialist You could probably carry a player like that in a midfield three or diamond-stylee midfield 4, however out wide left in a 4-4-2, is probably not his best position as he isny a pacey, hit the byline type, unlike say the Hump. Which brings me round to how the f**k did big Giles miss that one at the end, ach well didny cost us the game or anything. Jack and Victor are clearly more adept at juggling soot that Mr Gannon....
  17. Actually spotted a black Range Rover wi' blinged up alloys and a private plate on my way to the game yesterday and thought "Aye that'll be big Boab back". It was parked in the middle lane of the M74 mind...

    St Mirren

Keef for me also, great combo with big Giles in the centre as others rightly have said, and he was almost omnipresent on the pitch today. Yet again the briefly forgotten man of Fir Park makes another miraculous comeback from the dead, step up Keef Lazarus-ley...
  19. 2-1 to the team who had 21866 fans at the Spurs game in...sorry, forgot I wisnae on P&B getting it right up Capn Bawbag...
  20. Well he does have some historic value as the only former Motherwell player to have entered Miss Scotland...
  21. Stand shut due to burst pipes? Shameful, hopefully the main stand has better legroom, plus you get to witness first hand Jimmy Calderwood trying to get out that wee narrow tunell...
  22. East, since schooldays (25+ years). Used to stand about where section B is now when it was terracing, and sat around there until I got my season, which is more towards the halfway line. Great view, good guys round about and, seeing as I'm at the end of the row, delighted the wee baldy f**ker with chronic bladder weakness has relocated elsewhere. Bet he's a poster on here... Have tried the POD/Main for friendlys, just doesny feel right, and suspect I may have to relocate to the family section of the Cooper in a couple of years if/when MearnsJnr gets interested.
  23. Football fans are fickle and their chants, by definition, won't be to everyone's taste. No' having supported any other team apart from the 'Well, canny comment if we're any better or worse than anyone else. Probably not I suspect. Craigans been a fine servant, he's now in the twilight of his career and his distribution has never been his strongest point.
  24. Feeling good already, best performance in several weeks, first game at home under the new management team, and MJC has predicted a defeat. Win is now on the cards...
  25. Haveny really posted on Gannon over the past few weeks, however in retrospect a few things appeared to be amiss. The recent OF games, I was disappointed he'd basically conceded defeat beforehand, and sent out a young, inexperienced side as cannon fodder, in much the same way Wenger does in the league cup down south. In Scotland, even though you know you're probably gonny get gubbed, you never concede defeat beforehand to the OF, its the one game the fans want a positive attitude to, albeit it's not often reflected in the result. The repeated statements about not having tactics without technique were also a bit contradictory. Surely as a manager, you adjust your tactics to suit the resources at your disposal, not the other way round? By all means have ideals, but balance them with pragmatism. Finally his post match interview on Saturday was f**kin awful, even my SO who was in the car at the time commented on it. As a manager, the buck stops with you, you never blame your team in public, you take the blame, then have the hard discussions in private. Saturdays interview was just totally unprofessional. Think reading between the lines it's probably a combination of factors. He may have been happy, as would Boyle to work without a contract for a short period, which could suit both parties as either can pull the plug without compo if things ain't working. However I would hazard a guess a combination of all the other off pitch factors, plus media and squad type issues led Boyle to pull the plug. If it was me, I'd have hammered him after Saturdays post-match interview. Acknowledge he did some good things initially with the younger players and playing style, however obviously for a variety of issues recently it had went sour. At this stage we need someone experienced in the SPL, even as a short term fill-in. Wouldny be unhappy with Calderwood, or even Craigy Broon as a short-term stop gap until season end.
