Hi Gate 13 I stayed 3 nights at the Best Western Museum Hotel.which is next to the National Archaeological Museum and Athens Polytecnic. There is street than runs between both these building leading to Patission Street, I suggest you pop down there and have a walk around about 2 oclock in the morning,I can assure you will see many junkies/drug abusers openly injecting etc etc which apparently the police turn a blind eye to between 0000-0400hrs daily ,(This information came from the hotel staff) One of the photographs I have posted on this thread is taken during the day on this street. I have edited my original post as I agree with you there are many nice areas/people/bars/hotels etc etc in Athens and it is not all a junkie ridden shite-hole!! I had a great time in Athens....apart from the result Try Deuchers IPA or Belhaven Twisted Thistle....both very nice pale ales Yammas !!!!!

just back........could have done without a feckin 3.5hr delay on the M6 9hrs to drive from West London Had a great time....but as prevoiusly mentioned,Found the Exarcheia area of Athens I was staying in, a awash with Junkies/drug abuse/ etc etc..... Also the shambolic way we were treated by the police and Panathanikos !

Well thats the online check in done......off to Englandshire in the morning.......... overnighter in Knebworth.....then to West Londonium to drop the car off Monday afternoon......then to Heathrow for Agean flight 605 departs 8.35pm.........See u all in Athens

Some people on this site moaning like feck about the most trivial things/doom and gloom and negativity about MFC Me being a happy clappy type.......Top six finish,Champions league group stages, League and Scottish cup double, Higgy wins golden boot, Las capped for Scotland,Humph has 50% cross rate finding another well player in penalty box... More kick-off's moved forward by 30 minutes at short notice (5 days) !!!!

Agree with all the above comments about the Cooper bar....to warm/big Qs/badly laid out seating...... The re intoduction of the bottle bar would be an idea....as that end is normally less packed Also going in for a drink after the game as it is never over crowded then

Not opening the South stand for the majority of home games..........(Ross county,ICT,The Pars,team 12,etc) (tin hat on) Give Smeltic the South stand and the Cooper

Been fannying about on Expedia....( 2 persons travelling and sharing room with Expedia discounts) If we get Fernebache...and u are prepared to get to London... Flyin the Monday (both proposed dates home and away) and flying back the thursday,,,,its coming in around cheapest £220-£250 for return flights and 3 nights hotel Athens is a about the same for the same deal fligths and 3 nigths hotel Kiev is a bit more exspensive £280--330ish Plus travel to Londonshire ..... Then the masive hype in price when 7,000 dossers try to book (Seville counter being used )

And again not forgetting Kenny Black and Lyall, Alex Forsyth and Craig Paterson.....a ll from 83-86ish
