  1. Fearing the worst but hoping for a surprise point or three. I think their running off the ball will kill us. We still have to go in with the attitude that we can win. Up the work rate, keep focused and mentally turned on. Do not let them run freely thru the midfield with the ball. I think our best chance is to hit them on the counter. From corners or free kicks if Kelly gets the ball we need bodies sprinting up the field to give us numbers up opportunities and play long ball out. A few Of those and then Celtic will have to adjust appropriately hopefully then giving us more time at the back to play the ball out. Slattery needs to get stuck in and stop falling over. Eventually the refs get wise and stop awarding free kicks. KVV needs to put in a shift. Our wide players need to be aggressive and go at the full backs and get some good balls into the box. We need to stay organized and compact, defend and attack as a team. Having said all that their speed (or our lack of) may still kill us. COYW!!! Need a good old fashioned blood and guts cup tie “get intae them” performance with some goals.
  2. Correct. I’d say missed opportunities.
  3. Yes, all of the officiating points are valid but yet we had the opportunity to still come away with at least a point if not 3. We have to drum it into the midfield and defense that we cannot allow runners to go 20 30 yards unchallenged. Get in their face early at least slow them down which then gives other players a chance to challenge.
  4. Came from no one stopping the run ……. Again
  5. Slattery falling down more than tonynwatt
  6. Let’s hope we take our chances when we get them. COYW!!
  7. Let me go review my log book of incidents that I keep for questions just like this and I’ll get back to you.
  8. I think the phrase “one or two” is more than kind to the Scottish officials.
  9. I would say first order of business is to extend Penny
  10. Correct. The law doesn’t mention a backward pass but was he behind the ball at the time of the pass or did he run back from ahead of the ball to collect that pass ? basically if you are behind the ball you are onside see the section below regarding offside position any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
  11. Good to see us be alert and take quick free kick that led to the goal.
  12. As someone mentioned earlier you don’t actually have to make contact. Intent is enough. I’m saying that there was still contact.
  13. Was this the red? I'm sure it was against spittal, where he stamped him on the way down from a jump. Ref was definitely on Goss although commentator kept saying Spittal.
  14. I think it’s vital we get another goal. If they equalize we will just crumble mentally. Certainly missing a Peter Hartley type in the team.
  15. You can see when the froze the review clearly stud raised pushing into Goss’s leg.
  16. Don’t screw this up Motherwell. Too much pussyfooting around at the back in that first half. Liable to shoot ourselves in the foot. Not saying howf it up the park all the time but several occasions where that would have been the safest option. Need players to show for early out balls.
  17. Set up nicely for embarrassing defeat now but let’s hope not. COYW
