Before I say the following, I am in complete agreement that SK needs to change his tactics and move away from from the negative approach, however, our keeper had zero saves today, so other than us gifting Hibs 3 goals with some horrendous individual errors we handled them Pretty well. Therein lies the issue, if you have defenders prone to catastrophic individual Errors you can’t rely on a defensive approach to work. Based on our record it would appear that, for the most part, we need to score at least 2 goals to win any game so we really should be attacking minded. Our best midfield players are likely to put in good performances in an attacking formation. There have actually been a small number of games where we have created lots of chances and looked like a decent team so I don’t understand SK’s reluctance to give it a go. St Johnstone, cup game, we should be attacking them right from the start.

Odonnell, Wilson and Halliday need dropped for the next game. Halliday. Too much strutting around. Poor pass helped gift first goal Wilson. Lost and WTF was he doing to gift second goal O’Donnell. Once again killing ourselves. We were strolling thru this game defensively then we give them 2 goals on a plate. Not sure who Halliday thought he was passing to at the first goal. Second goal is just ridiculous. I like Wilson but he needs dropped now. Too many basic mistakes and looks lost.

I’m very much in the keep SK camp but you are right. We should be able to control and pass and keep possession. For me that’s a basic football skill and if you can’t do that you shouldn’t be called a professional. I’m also of the opinion that the first thing we should be looking at is a ball in behind the opposition defence but if it’s not at least 60/40 in our favour then don’t try it, find the easy 100% pass option. Too many times, under no pressure, we try the long ball when it’s not the best option.

Whether it’s a target man or runners the problem with our long passes is that they are horrendously inaccurate. Nothing wrong playing long balls all the time if they are accurate. At best most are 40/60 on our guy getting the ball. First option should be a ball in behind the defence for player to run onto. If not on then can we play it to feet of someone forward or at least to where they can control it with their chest or other body part. Most of our long balls are either straight to opposition, way too long or way to high or out the park

Any word on Gordon? Will he be available for Saturday ? Hoping we get another 2 or 3 back for Saturday.

I think Wilson does pretty well sometimes but some players he can’t handle and then of course sometimes he’s hung out to dry having to cope with multiple opposition players.

Wasn’t a bad challenge. Just fell awkwardly. Not an uncommon incident. We did get two correct VAR reviews in our favour. Although, I have to admit, I’d like to see VAR do away with the microscopic offside reviews which would have resulted in us going a goal down.
