  1. No urgency, ideas or flair. Pumping (mostly good) balls from the right again and again for every one to stand at the back post and not attack the ball. Zero penetration whatsoever. aberdeen played it perfectly and fair play to them. ZFA can honestly get to fuck, he offers nothing. Same with lawson. Thought mcmanus was about one of the only ones to emerge with credit. as for mccall, yet another game bottled. And like half the ground was saying, the game was crying out for faddy, why have him there and not use him? If he is unfit give his place to Moore. What annoys me is that the whole night was almost inevitable
  2. Wonder save?! He palmed it straight back out into the 6 yard box!! Fundamentals of goalkeeping are that you palm it somewhere which isn't straight to an attacker.
  3. Nielsen to blame for both goals in my opinion, very poor
  4. Use bbc iplayer instead of dodgy links, its live on there. Poor so far, odd team selection
  5. Anyone coming from the south of glasgow who would normally change at newton - burnside to newton is closed so go into town and get a motherwell train from there.
  6. No one has said we should have players like xavi and iniesta. Bizarre comment. What I was saying is that on evidence witnessed with my own two eyes, I felt he was poor yesterday, poor 90% of the time, and doesn't bring much if anything to the team. Maybe he will in time, who knows. Dont really like ripping players especially after a win, but everyone has their own opinions about who should be in the team and what they bring
  7. He offered very little. Personally against a team like partick we should be looking to kill the game and score again. ZFA offered nothing going forward, no chasing down, no outlet, no dribbling,.no crossing, negative backwards easy passes. Ok he probably did a marking job on the right back. Before anier got hooked, ZFA gave away the ball carelessly a.few times. Basically, I really don't rate him. A quick pass onto Sutton for the assist doesn't make me change my mind that he is not good enough.
  8. Angol should have been hooked long before he was. Anier should have been left on.
  9. He's not even that fast, or certainly he doesn't use it because he's not willing to take on a man, give and go, or look for the through ball in. Bench him then bring him on if we need an out all in the last 15 mins
  10. BBC mentions a "cracking atmosphere by both sets of fans". Thought it was kind of dead myself. Also, 5500 against Partick is a decent crowd I think - the PoD seemed a lot busier than normal, anyone know why?
  11. Just in - some opinions - we defended very well today I thought, Hutchinson in particular. - first half Lasley and Carswell bossed the midfield, didn't seem to be coincidence that when carswell went off, Bannigan got a lot more time on the ball. Despite being a fud for playing on after carswells injury, I thought bannigan looked like an excellent player. - I like Anier more and more every week - until he went off I thought hr was our best player - constantly running, chasing and harassing but who can actually make things happen on the ball - great work for the goal. Sutton actually played pretty well in his heid the ball down role. Anier looked pretty gutted to be taken off, and no wonder - I find myself repeating this again and again but ZFA offers absolutely nothing. He can't beat a man, he seems unwilling to run into space, he doesn't put a foot in and he gave the ball away numerous times. Ok he will be credited with Suttons assist but apart from one pass he was rank rotten. - despite being happy at the win, we would have conceded at least one in the last 20 minutes against a better side. All in all a good 3 points but a lot of work still to do.
  12. funny post above sorry, on my phone. Also, since when did synchronised hand movements become the norm in Scottish football? The 'hoo', 'hah'. Fair play for the atmosphere, just an odd one!
  13. A few observations: - I was impressed with anier. His movement was excellent and he was constantly working the channels. Great ball from Sutton for the goal also. - Vigurs has a fantastic range of passing. He is a bit languid in style though, which brings me onto... - there is not enough movement in the team. If your team is naturally narrow, you need quick passing and moving. The plan seemed to be hump to Sutton with no one feeding off the scraps, much the same as Kuban Kransnodar. We desperately need some pace in the team. - ZFA - im really not sold. Chick Young picked up on him on the radio and for once he was right. I counted once that he wanted to beat a man. Passing it backwards to Hammell to launch just won't cut it. - Fraser Kerr is not a winger. Absolutely bizarre selection from McCall so far this season - Criticism of Hollis so far is completely unjustified in my book. He was going dogs abuse from sections of th east stand for not releasing it straight away, when there was hardly anything on. The pelters he was getting was embarrassing. - overall, the writing was on the wall when we were lucky to go in 1-0 up after them rattling the post twice. No complaints about then winning.
  14. I want to hear what the Russians thought of us...any Kuban fans want to post about their experience of Glasgow, motherwell and the game?
  15. Unless the player leaves in completely acrimonious circumstances, like Pearson for example, there is really no reason to get on a players back. Its pretty embarrassing hearing some of the stuff on here, and last night towards Nicky Law. Law is one of the best players I've seen in claret and amber, and hateley would be welcome in any SPL team outside Celtic. These are guys who are at a club where although successful on the pitch in relative terms, we cannot offer big wages or crowds. I don't blame any player going down south. If its a gamble, like hateley has obviously taken and it doesn't work out, that's life or bad advice or bad decision making. It doesn't call for a complete rewrite of history.
  16. absolutely correct, there were times where there was acres of space in behind. Its the kind of thing the likes of Humphrey and Jim o Brien did well. I would like to see Zaine play more of a role this season though, he has promise. I would say we are a pacey front or wide player away from being a.very good SPL side. although Sutton is unlikely to hit as many as Higdon last year, I reckon the goals will be shared around a.bit.
  17. A few random observations... I don't really get the Vigurs love in on that performance - I counted 5 times in the first half he either gave the ball away or took too long in the middle of the park and was dispossessed. He got better in the 2nd half. I think he could well be a good player but his best play seemed to be when Faddy was around. I reckon to get the best of both we would want to play both fairly narrow. Which leads me onto... ZFA - he is still pretty raw and inconsistent for me - I too was frustrated with his unwillingness to play the ball to Hammell and then make the move - he receives the ball, plays it back to Hammell and then doesn't move. Not sure if this was a tactical thing from McCall in telling him not to stretch the left side or not, but very frustrating. Hutchinson, as much as I rate him, has a rashness that has no sign of disappearing Sutton needs players closer to him than they were tonight. He needs an Ojamaa type player buzzing around him to take the knockdowns. Is McHugh this person? He needs a role soon enough. Hollis seems to me like a confidence player. He did fine today, and a run as first choice would perhaps show us either way if he has what he takes. The fact the knives are out for him after his experience as a Well keeper so far, playing the odd game here and there, is ridiculous. Popov is a moron - why would you run straight over to the bois and slide along on your knees, rather than go and celebrate with the 80 fans who must have paid a fortune to be there Balde (no 99) was an excellent player and as good a player as I have seen in a competitive game against Motherwell, I looked him up and he has played for Athletico Madrid in the same team as Sergio Aguero, so he has pedigree. And those Kuba fans, well done in supporting the team and making that trip. Although I could not hear much they seemed to be enjoying it.
  18. I called that one at the start of the season!
  19. it was reported on football 365 we were in talks with Alex cisak. Don't know how accurate that is though. Michael McGovern is at falkirk, not sure where the scoop is on that either. I know his sister, might give her a shout to see what his plans are!
  20. Alex Cisak fits that bill, of what little I know about him. It was literally one line at the end of a gossip page mind you, but its too obscure a link for there to be nothing in it. Its not like saying Suarez to real Madrid for example.
  21. Anyway. Its Alex Cisak, presumably being lined up as a Randolph replacement. 6ft 4, 24 year old austrailian u20 international orlf polish descent. Started career at Leicester before spells at Accrington Stanley, Oldham and Portsmouth on loan. Seems to be out of favour at Oldham.
  22. being reported on football 365 we are looking at Oldham goalkeeper Alex cicak. Any ideas?
  23. What happened to the cash converters challenge? The halls were rolled on then got taken away again. Was it not someone on this thread who was supposed to be doing it? Can't be arsed trailing through 12 pages
  24. Gerry Britton was on the pitch?! Jesus, Skippy Sunday was longer ago than I thought!
