  1. I am generally supportive of any idea that will raise finances for the club and put us on a more financially stable footing. My only concern would be similar to Weeyins that the dilution of the Society shareholding could, in the future, leave us vulnerable to a takeover by individuals who may not have the clubs best interests at heart. Id be more comfortable if we were retaining 60% share than 51% but then the finances involved may not be as attractive a proposition.
  2. I agree we won the more important game, but Im feeling greedy now! For the importance of keeping the feelgood factor going, maintaining confidence levels and ensuring Fir Park remains the fortress it currently is, it would be magic to do them again. Id take a point though, as long as the performance levels remain high. That would be a pretty decent 3 days work. Re team selection its hard to know what to do. Aberdeen have had a good look at us so do we freshen it up and make a few changes to pose them different problems or do we go same again and see what they come up with and make our changes to overcome theirs? Hard to know but Im now sure Robbo will have a plan.
  3. Great post. Agree with every word. COYW!
  4. Still trying to keep a sense of realism about the team as its still very early days. The cautiously optomistic approach has paid dividends so far. However, we've just come through two of the toughest tests domestically and passed with flying colours. If things keep going this way its going to be increasingly difficult to keep a lid on expectations.....
  5. Very difficult to pick a MoM tonight. Every single player put a shift in. Campbell, Rose and Moult were worthy contenders but I went for the much maligned Ryan Bowman. Chased every lost cause going and dragged the rest of the team up the park with him. He and Moult have to be the hardest working forwards in the league. Great partnership and a great performance.
  6. Nothing to add. Quite simply brilliant performance. Bring on The Rangers!
  7. I think Aberdeen still start slight favourites. They are the team that has been flying high. They have more resources than us and they are above us in the League. They are however, like us, a team in transition and we have home advantage which should help us. I think it will be a close game and there should be goals. Here's hoping we are the ones who want it most on the night and we can sneak a result.
  8. Hibs will argue that it was an all ticket game and that there should have been no issue with fans finding an empty seat as we were all allocated a number on our tickets. They're not going to accept resposibility for large numbers of our fans sitting wherever thy liked. I would agree the segregated area should have been wider and allowed fans to sit further back and get a better view of the game, but thats a slightly different argument. What they cant defend is only having 2 of the available 4 tills open at the pie stand. 30 minute queues before the game and at half time really arent on.
  9. Moult will get the glory for the goals and Cedric will get plaudits for his mazy run but one player stood head and shoulders above the others for the full 90 mins. Alan Campbell take a bow son.
  10. Thought first half was fairly even. Never a pen for their goal but as others have said Stokes had a better claim earlier waved away. Too far away to see Tait incident so cant comment. Moult very unlucky hitting the metalwork. 2nd half we were the much better team. Great finish by Stokes on the break to put them undeservedly 2 up, but this team never knows when its beaten. We dug in got 2 goals back and couldve squeaked it in the end if Tanner couldve got the ball out of his feet quicker. Big Cedric continues to impress and his maisy towards the end was awesome! All in all, a decent point at a difficult venue. Keeps the positivity going into the League Cup tie.
  11. 3-5-2 Is the formation we have played and have had most success with this season. It also seems the favoured formation on many of the top leagues. Id like is to stick with it tomorrow.
  12. Think we have proved on numerous occasions that Moult isnt as effective up front on his own. His partnership with Bowman looks very promising. It would be utter madness to split it up tomorrow. Lets play our game and let Hibs worry about how to deal with us instead of the other way about.
  13. Quietly satisfied and cautiously hopeful is a good place to be. I'll have some of that. Its a long way down from cloud 9!
  14. Hoping for a healthy away support through for this one. Real feel food factor both on and off the park. Not to far to travel and easy to get to by public transport. Add in some really good boozers and it has the makings of a great away day.....
  15. I think one of the things that impresses me most about Robbo is that he doesnt sugar coat things. If we've not performed to the standards he expects he says so. He doesnt single out players for criticism and is happy to include himself in the collective. I think the previous acceptance of mediocrity / just surviving is a thing of the past. This squad has higher expectations / goals than that. Very good man management exemplified by his desire for competition for places. If any player isnt cutting it then he will be out and someone else will get a shot. Its a million miles from what we had to endure this time last year....
  16. Mon the Steelmen! Living in Ayrshire is always that bit more enjoyable if we've pumped them!
  17. Neither Erwin or Thomas have done anything to deserve an adverse reaction from our support today. As long as they dont score against us and celebrate in front of the East Stand in Higginbottomesque style, they'll be fine Im sure!
  18. If Frear is injured, every chance Tait will go across there and Grimshaw to the right. I wouldnt be averse to seeing McLean get another run out. I know his preference maybe isnt out wide but he has the pace and ability to play there.
  19. I should probably pay more attention! But then Im already signed up so I will cut myself some slack!
  20. I know we have had the club open day and the Well Society were involved in that. However, has there been any thought to having a one off Well Society Fun Day to get a large number of Motherwell fans down to Fir Park with the specific purpose of directing them towards a table where the Society are taking new pledges? Ive no idea how difficult/easy that would be to organise or whether it would be best held on a matchday or maybe the next international break but its just a thought. Maybe in addition to buckets at turnstyles we should have a table inside every stand with folk taking memberships/pledges. Sometimes you need to be visible/in folks faces to make them part with their hard earned?
  21. Great listen again. Really good insight into the inner workings of the club. This is the type of interaction required to reassure fans that investing in the Well Society is the right thing to do. Well done.
  22. The way the repayment plan works I would have thought the recent activity would be paying off a decent chunk of both accounts owed. Given Les' double your money scheme we need to be really pushing the Well Society this year. We could end up with no debt in the very near future!
  23. Was listening to Sportsound today and I think it was Darryl Broadfoot more or less said that the inclusion of "cross border teams" was done to set a precedent with a view of smoothing access to England for Celtic and Rangers. If true, agenda if getting their U20s into the League wouldnt be a surprise.
