  1. Its not a matter of criticising the club or directors. They are clearly running a steady ship and have got more right than wrong during their stewardship, otherwise we wouldnt have had the relative success we have enjoyed over the last few years. However, if we as fans DONT complain or question when we see things that apear on the surface to be unfair or not in the best interests of the club then how do we expect the club to act in our interests? In relation to not buying season tickets / attending SPL games. No one wants to go down that route, however it IS the only real effective form of protest supporters have at their disposal to show their clubs how serious they are. In this case it is all the more relevant. Who in their right mind would go to the supermarket and buy a product when they dont know the contents of the box? The 3 x 8 is mental. We would be better just merging the SPL and SFL redistributing the money (inc Celtics!) and sticking with the current split set up. That gives us the bits everyone likes without this madness. And while we are at it lets get the voting structure sorted.
  2. 62 points. Definitely do-able. If we can take 4 points from next 2 before split we have a real shot at it.
  3. Yup! And if my maths is right and we win our next 2 games Septic cant win the league until after the split. Small pleasures and all that. .......if Abaaadeen could pull one out of the bag today.......
  4. Esteemed company indeed. Get him signed now!
  5. I thought Stuart McCall got his tactics spot on last night. To limit The Thumb to virtually no chances all night AND score 4 given how shaky our defence has looked all season is a great effort. The team looked a lot more balanced as well with McFadden on the right and wee Higgy on the left. Gonnae sign that contract now gaffer!
  6. Touch, poise, vision, class. J'taime James McFadden!
  7. Great performance tonight. Solid performances all over the field. Even when we had to change it round with the injuries we maintained the level and if anything got even better. Special mention for Tom Hately who I thought was excellent in midfield, big Higgy for being a big useless lump that only scores goals and Carswell who put in another solid show. MoM by a mile James McFadden. He makes me happy!
  8. Went up for a challenge and McPake put in a naughty one and caught the big fella. First time Ive seen big Higgy riled which is something given the amount of treatment he takes week in week out. Think McPake must have called him fat as well given his response at the goal. Lets all do the Higdon.
  9. Classic kit. Would love to see us wear this next season.
  10. In three years time there is no guarantee the clubs in the first division will be stronger. However the Rangers will be back and Sky will want their 4 OF games again. Back to square one. PS excellent post Gaag.
  11. Oh well. No decisions coming our way then. Just have to do it the hard way!
  12. That WOULD in fact make sense. However, it SHOULD have been made more public and the decision explained alongside the proviso that when reconstruction comes in, first place will also be redistributed. No excuse for budgets being already set at that point.
  13. Looks like a point will be enough on Friday night now although a win definitely guarantees it. Hopefully give the team the freedom to go and play.
  14. Good point. Glad I wasnt at the game. Sounds like it was terrible. Chance to secure top six at home on Friday under the lights. Looking forward to it.
  15. It has been reported as an 11-0 vote with Celtic abstaining so surely we know which way they voted?
  16. It seems Turkeys DO vote for xmas after all.
  17. If the 11 diddy clubs stuck together they could have voted through a much fairer deal. So the question is WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING ABOUT. Everyone gets less money in this situation, including Celtic and those who get their share increased by 0.5%. But thats because the value of the deal has gone down as a result of us refusing entry to the new club. However Celtic are the biggest winners as they maintain their % of an already much bigger pot when in fact they were in the strongest position to take some of the hit. Clearly if/when reconstruction comes along we could see the money for distribution to the lower leagues coming out of Celtics share, but I wont hold my breath.
  18. Andy P. I love how you take what Haggischomper and the rest of us are thinking and turn it in to piece of well reasoned prose without changing the meaning! Quite an art.
  19. Time to dust the silver strip down methinks!
  20. He certainly has been played on the left but given how keen he has been to cut inside he would appear to strongly favour his right foot. No idea whether he would gave been any good down the right on Saturday, however, unfortunately I think we all knew how Omar would do. I usually like to give players a chance but it hasnt worked out for Omar. He needs a feesh start somewhere else.
  21. 4 points from the next 2 guarantees top 6 regardless of what way round they come. I fancy it will take less than that and we could already be there but like some other posters I would like as much of an advantage as possible going into the split. No reason we cant win all of the games, apart from the fact we are Motherwell and its not generally our way. Its gonna be an interesting run in whatever happens! COYW!
  22. The few extra days recovery time should do the boys the world of good and allow any little niggles to settle. With the chance to secure top six Id expect another motivated performance but given the condition of the pitch I anticipate another scrappy affair much like yesterday. Could go either way but I believe in karma......
