  1. What it will do is chase him out the door first decent offer comes his way. Fans are quick to question players loyalty but where is our loyalty to a player who has been one of our most consistent performers for 3 seasons the minute he hits a slump in form.
  2. Really disappointed with Murphy tonight. He has had a decent 4/5 games recently despite a poor start to the season. Had hoped he had turned the corner but 2nd half tonight was another step back.
  3. Went for Humphrey because he was the only outfield player who looked capable of opening them up and it seemed too easy to just pick Randolph. For once Humphs delivery was actually quite good but no one seemed interested gambling in getting across the first defender to meet the cross. He slso had a few neat touches trying to player teamates in. Cant argue with Randy though.
  4. Ive never seen a player improve his performance by shouting at him telling him that he was shite. By all means boo players or the team at the end of the game to let them know its not good enough. They then have a few days in training to lick their wounds and think about it, but during the game why not try and keep it positive?
  5. Really disappointed to go out the cup in that manner and this early. SFA have made a boo boo messing with the dates. Must be the lowest crowd for a Scottish Cup tie at Fir Park for sometime, albeit a midweek replay. Also, anyone doubting Nicky Laws worth to the team though just needs to watch that back again. We have a small squad. Even losing just one important playet really lessens our chances. Heres hoping we can focus our efforts on the League and have a right go at 2nd spot.
  6. Remind me how many goals our strikers gave managed against him in our last two games..... Webster is nowhere near the player he used to be first time round with Hearts, injuries have seen to that. Thats when he won the majority of his caps. But he is still a decent player and would be great for Hutch or Cummins to learn from.
  7. Not if the keeper moved his leg towards the player (which he did) causing the contact and that contact wouldnt have taken place if he had not (that part is up for debate). I still dont think it was violent conduct. A bit naughty/silly on Randolphs part and he was lucky to avoid the refs attention during the game, but certainly not worthy of a 2 match ban. On that basis the club are right to appeal.
  8. Very frustrating game. Hearts make it very difficult to break them down. Never felt we really got a hold of the midfield with Las and Law struggling to make any impact. Thought 2nd half was better and Murphy and Humphrey both looked more dangerous. Poorest Ive seen Higgy and Henrik for some time, although for the most part they were feeding off scraps. I suppose Hearts defensive record speaks for itself so overall not a bad point.
  9. Randolph Corrigan Craigen Hutchison Hammell McCormack Lasley O'Donnell Ojamaa McFadden Porter Subs Ruddy, Reynolds, Quinn, Jennings, Coke, O'Brien, McDonald, Juke We really have had some good players to watch during some financially challenging times. Gives me hope that despite the contract situation this year, we will continue to flourish as a club in the years to come.
  10. If he keeps todays level of performance up until the end of the season the answer to both questions will be yes.......if he is still at Fir Park of course!
  11. Tough one today. So many to choose from but went for Murph because he has had some stick about his desire mental attitude etc etc but the last 2/3 weeks he has stepped it up. Today was one of his best performances in quite some time. If he can keep this up until the end of the season he WILL get a big move and WILL break into the Scotland squad. Eclipsed Andrew Shinnie today.
  12. What? You really didnt see them scoring 3 in injury time? You must be a glass half full kinda guy! Lol! It kind of capped ICT's day though, dont you think?
  13. When Omar scores you just know its your day! Great result and good performance. Didnt do too much different than we have done all season IMO. Just pressed and worked that little bit harder, passed that little bit sharper and most importantly took our chances (well, some of them) when we were on top. Fine margins. Hopefully now the negativity will subside and we can make a push back towards the top starting with Hearts next week. Oh and to top it all we won live on telly!
  14. This. When we play to his strengths it allows the whole team to move up the park and allow Murphy Ojamaa and Humphrey possession where they can actually hurt teams.
  15. Good solid first half and most importantly converting some of our chances. Murphy impressive again today. Credit where its due. He has really pulled his socks up the past few weeks. Really hope Henrik can break his duck.
  16. Lol! Cant run, cant jump, all he does is score goals! F***n useless! Lets all do the Higdon!
  17. Agreed. If he can consistently produce the form of the last 2 games into the new year and beyond he will get the move he needs AND maybe force himself into the Scotland squad!
  18. Decent performance tonight. Thought we should probably have won. Definitely should not have lost. Bad luck and poor finishing cost us yet again. Thought we had a good shout for a pen as well 2nd half when Murphy was fouled on the byline. Would have been a free kick outside the box. Think Im gonna stop goin to games. I appear to be a jinx!
  19. Ojamaa. His workrate and desire chasing lost causes and putting defenders under pressure is an example to the entire team. Add to that he was desperately unlucky not to break his duck tonight with 2/3 good efforts. Cant believe anyone cant see his benefit to the team. Should never have been subbed. Was the one player that looked like scoring.
  20. The thread was never about Jamie Murphy's qualities or abilities as a player. It was an unofficial poll on whether a cross section of Motherwell fans thought he was 1. our best player and 2. Ready for a Scotland call up. It was a question raised on another forum by someone who claimed to know lots of Well fans who thought the answer to both questions were yes. Surely not unreasonable to use this forum to establish if he was right? I happen to think Jamie Murphy is a good player. Inconsistent but with undoubted ability. I also think he can go on to bigger and better things but he needs a move for that to happen. I sincerely hope he gets the chance and grabs it with both hands.
  21. If you think that was harsh I wouldnt read any Higdon/McCall threads! Thread wasnt intended to be critical. Jamie is one of our better players and his scoring stats are good. But the original point put to me elsewhere was that he IS our best player and he IS ready gor Scotland now. I dont think he is either and Jamie would probably agree.
  22. Thanks for the responses guys. Almost 100% in agreement with my initial thoughts which were guaged purely on the vibe around Fir Park. I will feedback my findings to the TAMB in due course
  23. Right troops. Looking for some help settling a debate on the TAMB. 1. Is Jamie our best player YES/NO? 2. On current form should Jamie be in the Scotland Squad. YES/NO? I like Jamie as a player and had great hopes for him, but he hasnt developed as I hoped and I feel he needs a move if he is ever going to fulfil his potential. So, right now, my answer is NO to both questions. I thought most of us were of similar opinion, however I am informed there are many Well fans particularly from Wishaw and surrounding areas, who think differently. Thoughts?
