Happy to accept you have posted this in good faith, but not sure how an article from the Express helps the discourse? They are fervent anti SNP Brexiteers with an axe to grind. They also mention in the article that similar schemes are in place in Germany and the Netherlands. So what agenda are the governments / FA in those countries following? There are many faults in our game and with our government, but suggesting that there is some conspiracy between the SFA and SNP to ensure Celtic win the league (as the article does, not you personally) is some leap.

Its the same tune as "Scotland away, away, away". Think its relatively new, but has taken on a whole life of its own now. Hearing all 3 stands singing it last night and drowning out the Celtic fans was pretty special ๐งกโค๏ธ๐งก

SOD, Johnny K and Tom Sparrow were all immense, but I went for Fadinger who was just everywhere. Showed how much we miss him when he isnt there (or wearing a face mask!).
-
To inject some positivity into the discussion we have sold 2k tickets for this, so the away end will be sizeable and noisy. A fitting end to an incredible season. I hope we get at least the point we deserve for all our efforts this season, but even if we dont, the squad deserve the proper send off they were denied last night, especially with a few of them definitely away in the summer, Slatts in particular. Once more, "Stand Up And Sing For Motherwell!"
-
My only concern about Max taking over is whether he has the man management skills to be successful. No doubt he has the coaching qualifications and sings from the same hymn sheet as Jens, philosophy wise, but Jens has a stature about him that demands respect. Hopefully its not an issue this season, but if it is the board will have another big decision to make.

My point entirely ๐๐๐

Hung off from posting last night as I was way too angry about what transpired at the end of the game. Regardless of our thoughts on the matter, it doesnt really change anything. Hibs last minute winner means we need to go to Easter Road and get something. Given we have won 1 and drawn 2 against them this season and now have an injustice to fire the belly, we should embrace that situation. Re last nights game. I really despair about any Motherwell fan who watched that last night and is anything other than proud of our performance. Many Motherwell teams in the past have utterly capitulated to Celtic. But we went toe to toe with them for 90 minutes and were the better team by every metric, other than the one that actually counts. It was a great performance and, but for a bit more quality/composure in the final third, we might have won that game. There is a real feel good factor about Fir Park right now. Three stands up singing and bouncing in a game against one of the ugly sisters is a rare thing indeed. Finally, to address the issue of our record against the top 6. It is true that we have only won 3 out of 19. But we have also drawn 8. So in 11/19 games the top 6 couldnt beat us either and of the games we did lose only Hearts beat us by more than 1 goal and our performances have been more than decent. We should embrace these times and use the injustice we all feel about the season as a whole to fuel us going forward. Everyone to Easter Road......

Absolutely this! ๐งกโค๏ธ๐งก

There was only 10 seconds of added time left when the incident occurred. So adding time for the VAR wouldnt have occurred. Barely enough time to allow the penalty to be taken.

Scotland v Denmark. Kenny McLean.

I dont think anyone would argue that Celtic fans arent the worst at Fir Park. They absolutely are. The problem by focusing on that is you ignore what goes on away from Fir Park. Anyone looking at the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox and suggesting that the Union Bears were justified in their behaviour because Celtic fans encroached onto the field to celebrate are absolutely deluded. Our fans seemd to contain themselves last night. And that wasnt an isolated incident. I submit the masked marauders in Santa hats running amok in Glasgow City centre earlier in the season. For the avoidance of doubt, what happened at the end last night was a disgrace (particularly as it effected those in the disabled section most acutely) and the club should absolutely be complaining in the strongest possible terms to the SPFL and SFA and sanctions would undoubtedly be appropriate. However, when you apply broad brush steokes to a situation to suit your own agenda, you tend to lose the room.

Do the club get any money for the game being televised or does it all just roll into the prize pot?
-
Dunfermline fans are absolutely raging with us about that! ๐๐๐

One or two Jambos spouting the same pish on Pie & Bovril. Welsh cant play, McGinn is said to be injured, which leaves SOD as the only identifiable "Sellic Man" in our team, and I think he has done enough in his time here to prove that lying down is not in his make up.
-
One of the good things about this team is that, even when we are not playing at our best, the workrate and detrmination to run for one another is always there. Im not saying we have enough to win on Wednesday. But we certainly have enough about us not to lose, regardless of who starts. Gonna be another cracking night under the lights.
-
Id love him to still be here next season, but realistically? He deserves a big move. I just hope its to a different league and for a hefty transfer fee. We will need to replace him somehow!
-
He definitely has been targetted. The number of fouls committed on him in the last few games has been quite ridiculous. I know he is quick and often nips the ball away before his opponent, but they are all leaving the foot in to ensure they stop him breaking away. Thankfully he is young(ish) and quite hardy for a wee guy.
-
Thats really shit if confirmed. Means we probably have to go with Gordon and SOD in the middle on Wednesday. Thankfully Johnny K is back so hopefully he can at least start and give us 60 minutes as I dont fancy having Sparrow outside Gordon.

Re the penalties. For me, Kyziridis is running away from goal and has lost control of the ball. There is slight contact from Maswanhise, but Kyziridis heels are spring loaded and he throws himself to the ground quite embarassingly. Ive seen them given, and I would have been screaming for it, but I think McLean gets that right, and fairplay to him for standing his ground. My justification for that is the foul on Welsh for Shanklands goal. I dont think there was enough in that either, but there is way more contact than the penalty claim and the push stops Welsh getting any sort of jump on the ball. Boyd and McFadden apply double standards there. If they think Kyziridis is a stonewall pen then it has to be a foul on Welsh. You cant have it both ways. As for JTs pen. I was certain it was a pen at the game but when you see it slowed down, he definitely kicks the Hearts players leg and loses his balance. No pen for me.
-
SODs was excellent but voted for Gordon purely because I had the absolute fear when I saw he was playing and he never put a foot wrong. Very good performance considering his lack of game time.
-
Wow! Tough crowd! Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight. Big crowd, great atmosphere, end to end stuff and thought we were well worthy of our point. Not the best football we have played this season, but that was mostly due to Hearts not allowing us to by going man for man and pressing us hard all over the park. They forced us into playing the type of game they wanted to play, but we stood up to it and battled hard for our point. Overall, pretty pleased with our nights work. Would have been nice to have won but that point could be very important. Looking forward to Wednesday. Hopefully McGinn is fit and Fadinger is back.

Halliday comes across really well in that interview. He certainly isnt the character I had anticipated when we signed him. Just goes to show, you should never judge a book by its cover. I wish him well for whatever the future holds and look forward to seeing him in The Hunter next season!

Very interesting interview. Max comes across like a really good guy. Be interesting to see what happens when Jens moves on. Does he go too, or are we looking at our next Head Coach? -
I could live with that. Hearts fell lucky with Bloom as he already had the analytics in place and the model had already proved successful elsewhere. Not sure how many Tony Blooms, or Jamestowns there are out there, but if we could find someone trustworthy with the necessary finances / expertise then it could be a good fit.
