  1. Really liking his interviews. Doesnt take any shit and is able to explain the tactical plan and process succinctly! Liking this brave new world! ๐Ÿงกโค๏ธ๐Ÿงก
  2. Heading up for this one to tick another ground off the list. Hoping for a little light rain to make the pitch a little slicker and more agreeable! I expect it to be another tough game but us to have learned and improved a little off the back of the past week. 2-0 to us. A goal in each half with Sule and Stama both getting off the mark.
  3. I listened to the Sportsound Podcast and its exactly this. Lazy journalism generating clickbait by bastardising something that wasnt even an interview. I actually thought Lee Miller did well NOT to give any information away when asked a direct question. It does seem that A CLUB has made an offer though and that the family/player are happy with that club and that both clubs are trying to thrash out a deal suitable to all parties. That was my take anyway. If the rumours of it being Como are true that would be an unbelievable move for the boy. Playing your football in the most picturesque stadium on the planet under the management of one of the worlds best midfielders with a chance to impress and attract even bigger clubs? Oh, and the owners are loaded.......
  4. The new players all showed up pretty well. Watt, Just, Fadinger and Slattery all ball players who will link up well once they are more familiar with one another. Longelo was very good in the first half. Took his goal well and was had a great strike just before that well saved by the keeper. Good to see McGinn back and giving his standard 7/10. For overall performance and getting the winning goal it has to be Fadinger though.
  5. My take away from last night not having been at the Clyde game. Its early days but the signs are promising. The football is already more easy on the eye. We wanted to move away from eye bleeding football and be more progressive so the club have gone out and got a (second) manager to do that. We have an obvious style, structure and pattern of play. The team/squad already looks more balanced than its been in a few seasons with the manager saying there is still more business to be done in key areas. The manager has a clear plan and is able to communicate that in interviews. His analysis of the game and explanation of why we played the way we did was spot on and should embarass some of the roasters in our support who were on the players backs straight from the off (it wont). I am quietly encouraged that we have some decent footballers in the door and the makings of a decent team once the problem areas are addressed. Its still pre season. We started the game last night with 7 players who have barely played together. It will take time for them to gel. Shame Lennon is leaving. He would thrive in this brave new world!
  6. Loved the Spanish Archer! ๐Ÿงกโค๏ธ๐Ÿงก
  7. Thats a shame. He looked good!
  8. Came from a fake account looking for clicks. But he is the kind of player we would like to sign and he is a Copenhagen player.....
  9. Hopefully the big boy fae Copenhagens reserves isnt just a rumour. He looks pretty tasty for our level.....
  10. I foresee a tentative sluggish start as the players get used to the new system. But I still expect us to enjoy majority support within the stadium and for us to grind out a 2-0 win.
  11. I really like the kit. Love the sentiment behind it with the 30th anniversary coming up. I do prefer the petrol blue we have used before, but this also works well with the claret & amber trim. Quite plain and simple with some more subtle detail. Kind of torn on the British Steel logo, as Steelman 1991 says, the organisation weren't blameless during the closure, but it does link into the community sentiment and the workers were a bigger a part of the place than the management ever were. Would buy one in a second without the G4 Claims sponsor. Will wait to see it in the flesh before I decide to part with my cash. 8/10.
  12. I just dont see Miller wanting to go to Celtic. Lee Miller is on record saying Lennon is a first team player now and needs first team football at a higher level to develop. Firstly, not sure he gets that staying in the SPL. Obviously he would be playing with better players but its still the same league. He could have a chance of Champions League football, but he would be competing with McGregor, Hatate, Engels and McGowan for a midfield spot. Not sure Rodgers drops any of the first 3 in a big game. Hopefully the David Turnbull experience will have sounded loud enough alarm bells for him and he will take his talents elsewhere. Preferably Europe.....
  13. Ive never bought into the feeling that Motherwell fans are any more indifferent or indeed harder to please than any other fans. We just notice it more because we are them and they are us. Most supports with a broad demographic will produce similar percentages when asked to make decisions on various subjects. Its like politics. Nobody really gives a f#ck about local elections cause its roads, bins etc. When it comes to the big decisions more people tend to sit up and take notice. Still a piss poor return though.......
  14. Have we just exchanged our new manager angst with Lennon Miller angst? I get its the close season and there isnt much to talk about, but no need to be getting worried The boy has an agent who will be making sure everyone in Europe is aware of his availability, over and above the clubs communications. The kinda clubs with the money to buy him dont have League Cup games to prepare for in 2 weeks. They will be in no rush.
  15. Agree turnout is very disappointing. Reasons need investigated so we can at least try to drive up engagemement. Unfortunately rules and regulations are not very "sexy" to your average punter, but I would have hoped for higher numbers than that.
  16. Im all for football being played on grass. We used to have one of the worst grass pitches in the league and now its one of the best. So it can be done on a small budget. Like others have said, you have to prioritise. If standards are set it forces that decision on clubs, which is fine. But imho, there should also be standards for grass pitches. Ours used to be horrible during the winter months. St Johnstones was poor last year and other clubs have had dodgy grass pitches. The rules shouldnt just be applied to plastic if we are serious about improving standands......
  17. I would imagine both they and Falkirk will look to challenge it. To be fair, I will wait until I see how the new pitches play this season before passing judgement. I agree that some of the grass pitches we played on over the last couple of seasons werent always the best. St Johnstone being the most obvious in the cup game and the following week.
  18. On Robinson, I agree I saw precious little under Kettlewell to suggest he has much to offer. But we were absolutely howling at that point and he was being asked to do a job he wasnt suited to. Id like to see if JBA can get a tune out of him in a different formation. Strikes me as if he could be quite useful playing a pressing game. If he can return to full fitness that is. Tough injury to recover from. Although I did see he was on the plane to Holland, so......
  19. How do you know he has zero knowledge of the Scottish game? Im sure they have tv and computers in Denmark. Also, Scottish football is littered with managers who had plenty knowledge of the Scottish game and still did shite, so its hardly a benchmark. Clearly the McGhee signing was Kettlewells and Fadinger looks like Wimmers, but I would be shocked if the club signed off on Watt without at least discussing it with the manager. Given we need another 3 or 4 players for cover until xmas, Im sure he can do plenty with that. I get that you are naturally pessimistic and thats fine. Some ying to my yang brings balance to the forum, but negative vibes without a reason is just vibes.....
  20. This was my original post on page 2 for anyone interested......
  21. Didnt take it as a criticism. Just couldnt be arsed typing it all out again! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  22. My original point outlines that......
  23. For the avoidance of any doubt. I am a legacy member. But I also still pay a direct debit, so Im not arguing from a selfish perspective. Just trying to see it from both sides and find a middle ground.
  24. Certainly not a Tory! Its just simple fairness. Not that hard to understand.
  25. You cant do that when the rules at the point of parting with your money were that you were a member for life and kept the voting rights that come with that. That would leave the Society open to allegations of misselling. But given that the model has now been changed, a way need to be found to provide fairness to new members so that they arent disadvantaged compared to legacy members. Im sure the new Society board will have looked at the matter extensively. It does beg the question as to how much thought went into the long term financials at the time of set up and why those in charge settled on that model.
