We should certainly have someone in place by then. Hopefully earlier so that they can get in and start identifying new targets asap. You would have thought that with the Wimmer situation being well known then contingencies were being put in place. June 16 is only 3 weeks away though, so maybe not.

He has also been consistently one of the best midfielders in Scotland, if not THE best, for the last 10 years......
-
Glad Killie have gone early with Kettlewell. If Dundee could also appoint quickly it would be nice. Fair chance that our board are looking at a different set of candidates, but would be good to get the competition out the way as quick as possible.....

Moses has been great coming off the bench the last 2 games. Im not suggesting that he should he our starting striker. But he does appear to be a good iption off the bench if he was happy to fulfil that role and isnt costing us too much. That said, we still have Robinson and Stuparevic on the books, so maybe not realisitic to keep him, evein if he was amenable. Will need to see the disallowed goal again. Couldnt see too much wrong with it, bit there was a lot going on in the box so hard to tell...... Would defo keep Seddon. He is one of the better defenders we have at the club.
-
Hard to judge that today as the first half was so poor. Seddon possibly the pick of a bad bunch. Second half Andrews, Miller, Halliday, Sparrow and even Thompson all played well. Ultimately I went for Moses. He was far more effective than Armstrong had been, caused some absolute mayhem, scored a goal should have had at least one more. Just a throroughly entertaining performance.

Thought we were very poor first half. Very disjointed and couldnt seem to string more than 2 passes together. Much better second half after the changes. Just wish Wimmer was able to get the team selection rigjt feom the start. He could save us a lot of angst! Andrews was very good in possession and helped Halliday and Miller no end. Shame he is gonna be outwith our price range next season. Moses had a great 45 minutes causing absolute mayhem as only he can! We should really have won the game with the chances we created, but cant be too sniffy about a draw after the first half. Time for a rest and re-charge the batteries. Really looking forward to seeing what Herr Wimmer does with the squad. Plenty positive signs. If he can get the right signings in next season could be quite exciting!

I agree that selling Slattery this close season would be far from ideal. Especially as we are resigned to losing Miller. However, we are a selling club and we cant dictate when another club will come in for our best players. Its kinda stating the obvious. But the club will have a valuation for all our players where we say, ok, on you go son, and it will be weighed up against the potential value of keeping them vs the risk of injury. Personally, Id be looking at extending Slattery now to protect ourselves. He may not sign, but given we looked after him through a career threatening injury, he might. As long as there is a release clause if a bigger club comes calling. That way everyone is happy.

Great player. But, another one who is likely to have offers way above our pay grade unfortunately. He would probably walk into any SPL team outwith Celtic right now.
-
But that option doesnt exist online. Thats the whole problem. I shouldnt have to phone or go to the ticket office to complete what is the most obvious choice for most people!
-
That was precisely my point. I dont need a new cars. Im keeping the same seat, price, class etc. Just need the card updating with the new data, which is why I ticked digital. I went in on Wednesday night and the girl there confirmed that digital only refers to season tickets downloaded to your phone. You have no physical card. I dont fancy that option as I dont trust myself or my phone not to f#ck that up. I was then told to phone the club on Monday and they will be able to fix it. Im still none the wiser as to whether I need a new card or my old one gets updated. All very confusing but we will get their in the end.

Probably. I'd be ok with 3-5-2 with better wing backs. Sparrow is serviceable on the right but Wilson doesnt have the pace and Thompson continually gives the ball away. I think Stama could be the striker we need if he can stay fit. But as you say, probably alongside someone like Watt or Armstrong as opposed ro on his own. We could really do with making that work given the initial outlay on him.
-
Thought Seddon was excellent. As Ive said elsewhere, Id like us to get him tied up for next season. Calm, assured and hardly seems to waste a pass. Decent delivery as well. Creditible mentions for SOD, Halliday and Armstrong. POTM though was Slattery by a distance. He is integral to everything good that we do and probably the main reason Im not bricking it at Lennon Miller leaving us.

My Hometown is a great song in the right circumstances. Unfortunately, in a football stadium as the teams run out, isnt one of them! 😆😆😆 I remember we used to play the old version of "Up The 'Well". Thanks to The Banter Thiefs for revamping it and giving it new life!
-
Paton I would agree is probably more of an 8. But Slattery has shown he can play the 10. His goals from midfield since his return have pretty much kept us safe.
-
On last nights evidence I would be trying to secure Seddon again next season. He is probably the best LB, LWB and LCB at the club and has looked pretty decent in all of those positions. Add into the fact that it has been a problem position for us and he seems like a pretty good sort to have around the place, it seems a no brainer to me. Only issue I would have would be his fitness as he hasnt been available to play much this season. However, I dont recall their being any issues with injuries previously, so maybe he was just a victim of the SK Hex!

Thought it was a thoroughly decent performance last night rather than great. But it certainly wasnt pedestrian or boring. I did have concerns before the game when I saw the team selection as it was clearly going to be 3 at the back with Sparrow and Wilson in the wing back roles and without Maswanhise in the team, I dont think there is a lot of pace. However, there was no Thompson and with the extra midfielder it did look like a team capable of keeping the ball. Thought the game was pretty even up until the sending off, although up to that point Killie had created the better chances. Great save by Ox from the Armstrong free kick, albeit it was never a foul in the first place. After the sending off, which was a stone waller, we were by far the better team. We knocked the ball about well, stayed patient and changed the point of attack to keep Killie doing all the running. You could be picky and say the quality of our final ball could have been better at times, but Killie rode their luck a fair bit. Second half was dominant. We never really looked under any threat, other than a couple of set pieces and we deserved our 3 goals for our patience and for working Killie so hard up to that point. Slattery's goal was a thing of beauty we havent scored a goal as good as that since Spittal left. Overall, I left feeling pretty satisfied. We all know there needs to be changes in the summer if we want to improve but, for me, Wimmer is showing he is a tactically more astute manager than Kettlewell and his brand of football is infinitely better to watch. Lets just hold onto that for now.

The problem with the McCall years, for all they were great, was that those teams cost us a lot of money. We had our highest league finishes in the modern era, but U believe we lost money due to the wages were paying particularly in squad bonuses. Ultimately for a fan owned club, thats not sustainable. I still think we can aim to do better than 8th but we need to spend our money more wisely. We have wasted a helluva lot of cash in the last 5 years on players that havent contributed. If we get smarter in the transfer market and run a smaller squad but with everyone staying fit and contributing, top 6 is still an achievable aspiration. Just look at St Mirren.......
-
Id like to see him move to the continent. I think he would do well in Italy, Spain or France. If the transfer fee is north of £5m though, I wont be too bothered where he ends up as long as its not in Scotland......
-
Be nice to get a win and finish the season on a positive. Given most of us wont be in Dingwall it is likely to be the last time we see Lennon Miller in a Motherwell jersey. Its worth turning out, even if only to give the lad the send off he deserves.
-
Ok. I will phone them.
-
Thats what I assumed the digital option was. Thanks for confirming!

Delighted for Lennon. He is an impressive young man. His best days as a footballer though are undoubtedly in front of him. We will need to take comfort in the fact we helped him on his way, gained out of it financially, and enjoy watching him develop into the player we all know he can be. Good luck young man!

No, Im being glass half empty today for a change! 😆😆😆 But we are a great wee club!

Absolutely this. There is still a chance we could break the 50 point barrier, which would be quite remarkable given how shite most of us feel the season has been. Signed up for another year of misery today. Up The 'Well! 😍😍😍
