Given our budget compared to the other 3 we really shouldnt be anywhere near it. But here we are. I do agree, we probably are a little too far back and probably dont have the depth of squad to get it over the line in the league, but Im gonna enjoy the ride. I do think we have a real chance in the cup though, if we get the luck required. Beating Aberdeen at Pittodrie will be a difficult task, but its not impossible and the rewards tangible.....

We havent been in a title race for 30 years! Im not giving up on this one until its mathematically impossible! ๐๐๐ Edit: We do really need to win tonight to have any sort of realistic chance.......
-
The problem is if you dont live in the area and can only go to the ticket office before the game and the queue is all the way up Fir Park Street, its a pain in the hoop.....
-
To add in, I actually like us when we play without an out and out striker with the 3 front players moving around and interchanging. Must be an absolute nightmare to defend against. If you add in Just, Said, RCC and now Nicholson to our attacking options, I think we are in good shape.

We have Eythor and Maswanhise fit and ready. Hendry will be back soon. Zander McAllister has been getting minutes (and was doing so ahead of Stama) so youd have to think he is in Jens thoughts..... Given how we normally set up, I dont think we are short up front.

It would certainly signal that there is a vacancy for a shirt sponsor! (If indeed that is the case).
-
I see they have an option to buy. Hopefully he does well and makes their World Cup squad and we can get some of our money back.

Was quite surprised to hear this, but it turns out that G4 Claims have absolutely nothing to do with G4S!
-
Aye, there is that! Big Jens is in everyones head!
-
I got heavy "Eythor is starting this one" vibes from Big Jens presser......
-
He loves to have a bit of fun with them for sure! I guess they must enjoy it too though. Better than the same old scripted tropes you normally get from managers at these things. Jens is a class act.

Aye. An uncharacteristic miss from The Cobra. Gordons save from Moult in the 2017 League Cup Final is up there. Not really a miss as such, as it was good hit/save, but if it had gone in, it could well have changed the dynamic of that game.

For someone who predicts that we will get beat most weeks, I find this kind of positivity quite refreshing! ๐๐๐

Huge incentive for both teams now. Dunfermline away is not an easy draw, but its a really tasty tie at a good stadium with the prospect of a very big crowd. Should be a great away day for the winner.
-
Best not let that happen then! ๐๐๐

Agreed. The only real benefit is to allow any niggly wee injuries that players are carrying to settle down, and you dont pick up any more injuries or suspensions. Given that we actually had games that might have been played, it wont have allowed much more prep for this game as we would have been focussed on Dundee and Aberdeen. We are at home however, and with the bigger home supports we have experienced of late, I imagine the atmosphere for this one could be quite tasty.

I see what you did there! ๐งกโค๏ธ๐งก

Can the clubs agree to move it back to the Saturday?

I think what maybe has become apparent is that, a Head of Recruitment is only as good as the brief he is given. If the manager requests a particular type of player, and a board puts significant financial or other contraints on the identification process, then you are likely to get predictibly poor results......

Kettlewells stubborn attachment to a system that he himself proclaimed he had "never played before" was his downfall. Even if he had wanted to continue with the 5-4-1, he should have signed players to allow him to do that. Or at the very least, when he realised his signings couldnt play 5-4-1, he should have changed it. He gets some kudos for his first 18 months, but the way it unravelled so quickly was entirely on him. Remember he also signed Johnny K and then refused to play him when we were struggling for a right back! I dont normally turn on Motherwell managers and am usually the last shouting for their heads, but the way he manufactured his exit will always be a sore point for me, so any of the good stuff that went before, for me, is tarnished.

Good early decision. Lets us get on with planning an alternative weekend. Hopefully we get a decent draw in the next round as a carrot. Be good to get it played on the 18th, otherwise fixtures might start to pile up, with the Dundee game also still requiring a suitable date. Onwards to Wednesday night and getting it right up The Rainjurs!

Can we not have David Dickinson as referee please. Not suggesting he is corrupt. But would just like to be talking about the game instead of him for a change!
-
No, Aberdeen FC ๐๐๐

Surely you are not suggesting nefarious actions! ๐๐๐

Was it worse than the one on Fadinger?
