  1. Just get the wing backs pushed up to where they need to be, would be a start! Let the 3 centre halves deal with the defending part.
  2. Unfortunately for him we might not have the players to cope with that without leaving ourselves wide open at the back. Be interesting to see how he navigates the end of the season. On the plus side it IS fresh eyes on this squad and no one starts with a guaranteed place, so they will all have to impress and earn their place in the team.
  3. I would imagine with the chairmans family connections there would have been conversations had and information shared. Guy has 15 years coaching experience at all levels, so on the face of it, seems like a good fit for us. Time will tell obviously.
  4. Havent seen it mentioned anywhere, but I quite liked the idea of the rolling deals. Meant nobody could ever take our manager without compo but we would never be out of pocket for more than a years salary if it didnt work out. Seem to recall it was one of the first things Caldwell did when he came in. Obviously depends on whether the new guy would be happy with that or not and how attached to the rolling contracts we now are as a club.
  5. Met some guys from Stuttgart at the Euros last summer. Huge Stuttgart fans, took us to their "fan pub" near the stadium. Asked them their thoughts on Wimmer. "Wimmer is a good one. He will definitely be able to help Motherwells" We are getting top 6! 😍😍😍
  6. We seem to have Uniteds number this season in the same way Ross County have ours. Wouldnt be surprised to see us get some sort of result. A draw would be a more than decent start for the new manager....
  7. Im all aboard the Poundshop Klopp Train! Choo choo!
  8. Thank goodness you've stepped back from that cliff edge. I was getting worried about you for a bit! 😍😍😍
  9. It will if we can win 2 games and get back in the top 6! But yeh, if we dont and end up in the bottom 6 as seems more likely, then what happens after the split will define our season. We still have 4 points over Dundee and 10 over St Johnstone which is a handy advantage at the moment.
  10. Ive already seen references to "Wimmer loves Koc". I wonder if the Bois will love him as well! 😆😆😆
  11. Absolutely no idea if this will be a success or not. However....... From looking at his managerial record he has worked his way up the youth ranks at some pretty decent clubs in Germany and got to assistant at Stuttgart before getting his first managers gig at Austria Vienna. You dont get those jobs without having something about you and he has a distinct career progression to fall back on. Added to the fact its out the box thinking, all the photos/comms today project absolute positivity and no bugger mentioned him through the entire process? Im quite excited to see what he can do! Lets hope Wimmer's a winner!
  12. Well the Budget Bergkamp did pretty well, so I'll take that! 😉
  13. We have a bloated squad that needs trimmed we cant keep them all. Armstrong has shown up well and looks out of the picture at Carlisle. There may be an opportunity there. Plange has been sent out for development. Presumably his parent club still see a future for him. Not writing him off at all, but once our injuries clear up we need to make decisions based on whats good for our squad / players. It will be harsh on some. Thats football.
  14. Room for all opinions on here including yours!
  15. Of todays team..... Balcombe - move on Sparrow - keep SOD - keep as utility/back up Gordon - keep Balmer - move on Thompson - move on Miller - sell for ££££ Halliday - move on Slattery - keep Watt - send back to Dundee Utd Armstrong - keep if an option Nicholson - keep Maswanhise - keep/sell Plange - return to Crystal Palace Wilson - put on a diet / fitness plan
  16. Better than having a house without a roof being reclaimed by the bank....
  17. We could be sitting in exactly the same scenario but no longer own the club and be able to protect it from dubious individuals...
  18. I thought Slattery and Miller had some good combinations without particularly creating any clear cut chances. Sparrow put in a great shift and should never have been subbed. But I went for Armstrong just for the amount of lost causes he chased, ground he covered and his general appetite for engaging his opponent.
  19. Have we prepared a space for him to park his Lambourghini? 😍😍😍
  20. Mitchell van der Gaag would be an exciting appointment at least. Whether he has the ability to be a success remains to be seen, but Im all aboard giving it a try!
  21. Its defo a 3. SOD warming up with Balmer and Gordon.
