It's common knowledge that Kelly is our highest paid player and that we offered him very decent wages to get him back
It’s oft been said, with no basis in fact. Hardly common knowledge, it’s conjecture. He may well have been offered very decent wages, most are. How many disclose these details? Nil.

Market conditions 😂
Have any of our rivals managed to bring strikers in?
Laugh all you like. It is what it is. At least it ain’t contradictory like that firm grip you’ve got.
rivals? Nobody of note except perhaps Dundee? Others weren’t even on our radar despite what some on here think.

I also get that not all of the circumstances are within our control but if having 1 fit recognised striker (who’s quality is questionable), prior to playing one of your main relegation rivals away from home isn’t the time to make sure you push a deal over the line, then I think you’re taking a gamble.
So what is it you’ve a firm grip on?
This making sure you push a deal over the line has no circumstances?
It’s not great, most recognise that. Market conditions dictate otherwise.

I presume any fee paid goes towards paying up the players contract to encourage him to move?
Yes. Something oft discussed at Club AGM in recent years.

FWIW someone who is usually spot on with his info told me that we were never in for Main or Scott and it was just paper talk.
At last, sanity.

On the subject of Conor Wilkinson, he was signed on a free transfer, scored a couple of goals but it didn't really work out for him. He then went to Colchester for an undisclosed fee so the club made a profit on that deal. It could be said that he shouldn't have been signed up in the first place but SK recognised this and managed to sell him on which provided the club with vital funds.
Profit? Not really how it works, but, batter in.
Let’s see what club accounts bring about a year from now.

Unlikely to oust Greg Taylor. Sounds some prospect

Doesn't look like he played more than a handful of games for Alloa, if my info sources are correct.
🤔 I’d be checking sources, 11 appearances which is nearly two handfuls in Ayrshire and the likes.

Frees up a wage and the fee will be invested wisely 🙄
Any money pays up the players contract. Unlikely to be profit made. The winning part is opening up space in an already light squad

bit rude - seasons greetings to all 'Well fans .
SK has gone on record saying we'll sign 1, possibly 2.
Martindate has gone on record saying he needs to get to the window and get at least 3 players.
Like I said, spare us.
Need to stop taking the manager literally. You do realise why he won’t reveal his plan in full?
Martindale ironically should keep his powder dry. His first signing is a right back from Torquay.
Your conjecture of a master plan conveniently missed from your reply. We see you.

Generally believe we're likely to finish 11th or 12th.
Livi are likely to invest in players - I don't get a similar vibe from our club.
Unless there's a masterplan of investment to be unveiled that gets shot off all those both on and off the pitch it's difficult to see a trajectory that enables us to be optimistic .Conjecture at its finest. Spare us.

I dont disagree with that.
But thats not really fan owned is it?
Owners should have some input on their investment.
This is my problem with the Well Society's relationship with the club.
The club are happy to take our money but not willing to to cede any input in decision making.
Im not saying the fans should be consulted in every single matter. You cant run a business that way.
But we should have a say on the general direction of the club and matters of importance.
Just my opinion.
Nor disagreement here.
Your summation aligns with my ‘tail wagging the dog’ quip.

Do we not have a media guru that the board can employ to keep fans informed?
We have a director who’s the founding partner of a strategic communications consultancy. He’s now not in their employ, but, suspect he could be relied upon to offer advice.
Think some fans need to grasp that the Society exists to offer the club an overdraft facility - which in fairness hasn’t been required for some time. How much transparency do they need for that? Decision making & driving meaningful change will be on kit design at best. Various factors.
Tail wagging the dog springs to mind & it’s unlikely the two co-opted board members will raise their heads above the parapet to question the governance.

I know as much as I need to know on this subject thank you very much. I’ve got eyes and ears and I can see and hear things for myself. I have absolutely no interest in developing any further ‘understanding’ of this particular subject either. I go to the football to support my team and my club, I don’t want that ruined or my safety jeopardised by the actions of people who can’t behave.
Parochial. Very.
Saying that as if others don’t go to the football to support their team and the club. Just from experience, never had that ruined or safety jeopardised by the actions of people who don’t conform.
Had a few by the actions of those supposedly charged with our safety, but, them’s the breaks. Don’t get me started on the family group who sat behind us versus Ross County a few weeks back…

That’s exactly what it’s about, as it’s the case for so many aspects of life these days. We live in the “look at me, look at me” culture and football is no different so it’s no surprise to see it being hijacked by bampots who’s primary interest in being there is to set off flares, display banners, jump on the park and create a reputation for themselves.
#scenes
”look at me, look at me” never more apt each and every time you post.
Boring. Your prejudice and lack of understanding of a subject you clearly know little of offers nothing when others are debating reasonably.

The Pyro thing isn't complicated. It's unsafe, unhealthy and stops people from seeing the game. It's not really about creating an atmosphere at the match it's clearly about creating content for social media.
End of debate. You stick to sniffing bicycle saddles.

Love this bit. Advised by a comms agency?
Advised by the SPFL?
Advised by a select few fans?
Those representing club owners.
For example, had the Russell/Brannan brand or dare I say it Burrows been charged with the task it would’ve read a whole lot better.
Take Rangers statement last week:
“Supporters are reminded the use of pyrotechnics is illegal within Scottish football stadiums, and any supporter found to be in possession of a pyrotechnic device at any match risks arrest. The club can also be sanctioned for any use of pyrotechnics within a stadium.”
It’s factual, doesn’t offer opinion and ticks the boxes to avoid any issues from SPFL. Basics.

There should always be room for an adult conversation, but even if some kind of agreement were reached between the authorities and fan groups on the limited use of pyros in football grounds (we know that won't happen) I don't see it solving anything. I can just about remember doing daft stuff for the sole purpose of pissing folk off, and that has to be part of the appeal here. These groups obviously love the friction their actions create, whether it's between themselves and the police/government, the clubs they spend so much time and money supporting, or their fellow fans.
The authorities' intransigence may do nothing to help the situation, but even if they bent over tomorrow, I think the loss of control you mention is inevitable. It's just a matter of when and where.
Reasoned debate.
Is there an element of its use being edgy as it’s not allowed? A forbidden fruit? Reckon we’d see it take off in the first instance were it embraced, eventually the novelty wearing out.
