  1. No bother. Suspect it makes sense in your head - quoting me, you’ve just repeated in different wording what I said...
  2. Irrelevant? Really? Nobody questioned nor argued against any perceived improvement. Question was on the next step as a regular pairing - certainly not for me, mediocrity though is nailed on by some.
  3. Can you honestly say both are long term options?
  4. Barring a few details, that’s the sequence of events. Financial market collapse further compounded the problem. I’ve posted before, early 2000’s I was invited to a series of meetings by our then client in regards the upgrade of the Wishaw deviation line to carry passenger services with station facilities a part of the long term Ravenscraig plan. This is the line to the East of the site from Wishaw Central to Holytown Junction, not the main line that passes North/South through Flemington. The football club were represented alongside Bovis Lendlease, then one of the world’s largest project management & construction companies. Doubt it was ever documented, a figure of £9 million (there’s a few on here that will convert that into today’s money) was quoted as securing the land Fir Park resides with the sole intention to open up the future development of the Motherwell College site that was in its inception. Local council were actively falling over themselves to have our club there as a major focal point. History tells us that commitment wouldn’t be on a similar scale as much the same as the current land value will differ given financial fluctuations.
  5. For starters, Motherwell don’t exist to provide for local business. If it ever were to happen, it would be about embracing change. Can’t stop progress. Any facility would align with improvements to any local plan up there at any rate. The biggest brownfield site in Europe at one point, would be home to a modern Motherwell Town Centre by now were it not for the financial collapse over a decade ago. Any structure wouldn’t have to look the same as others either, rather dictated by finance & key stakeholders.
  6. From time of injury which will align with 5 to 6 weeks... From Lawless himself.
  7. Doubt we’ll be mates, but, happy to call a truce
  8. Nothing about tease. Transfer window now closed & with Euros on the horizon he’ll need to play at least 1 game between now & season end. A scan would rule out any impropriety on a contract trigger surely?
  9. Who are you? Why are you impersonating the fella I know who posts as ONeils40yarder? Need to be stronger propping up the rest
  10. Where did I say that? Club shows plenty of ambition and aspiration, just not in marquee signings to appease some. Theres merit in your wanting to add quality - that’s without question. Nobody else, Hibs excepted are doing so either. By choice rather than design on the face of it. There’s more understanding of how & why we operate the way we do than not. It’s about tempering expectation. Out of curiosity, who of quality would you have brought in?
  11. Well aware of that, haven’t advocated any constant love of youth players - not the point I am making, More a take on a man management issue involving new/old management teams we’ve been made aware of. I’ll bow out for now on development players. Just gives rise to some offering nothing in debate.
  12. So why were some lined up for loan spells to then not be, then lined up again for same scenario to happen again? Some were deemed ‘first team ready’... ideal time to offer minutes was when we blew County & Livingston away in consecutive weeks - we introduced Robbie Crawford who couldn’t feature against his parent club the following week yet, that was lauded by some on here. Disagree all you want on the youth take. Granted, Alexander will offer comment like he did as the development of youth would be a pre-requisite. Actions speak louder than words & I’ve been made aware that all is not as it’s made out to be. As simple as that. Lawless wasn’t featuring due injury.
  13. Think you need to reign in expectations. Shangri-La isn’t a real place. To think anything else will leave some disappointed. Our type of investment in the short term is how we deal with current climate. I’d surmise Scottish football has yet to see the full effect of COVID & that includes the big two. There is zero guarantee a raising of the bar will set us above the current level. I get the lack of inspiration in our signings. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that it’s hard to tell what they’re trying to do based on the signings, it’s an easy buy into them though for now.
  14. The reply to you was ‘OK. Pretty sure’. The reference to your knowledge of players contract was a general ideal that most statements you make have little substance no matter how many times you repeat yourself. I’ve asked you before, leave the ITK part out. Never once claimed to be such. Information is usually sound & checks out by various before I offer anything, cryptic or not. In reply to both yourself and KirkySuperSub... it’s called discretion. Source may well require protection - some things are just best served not being made public. In reply to both yourself and KirkySuperSub... it’s called discretion. Story linked to old and new management. Tad unbelievable? In what way? ‘Cause Alexander and his assistant have offered comment on our youth development? Few people hopeful the window will be extended for lower league clubs, perhaps allowing those who’s development was deemed to be better served in and around our first team some opportunity for game time. Unprecedented times, no reserve football has meant many kicking their heels for a year in a crucial stage of development. There’s variables on that also like percentage of wage covered. As for Accies yesterday, not that result is important - how did the midfield pairing of Foley & Hastie perform in the 1 nil defeat? Before you start, fully aware it was correct to introduce our new signing. Another out injured...
  15. OK. Pretty sure. Like you knew for a fact contract details, that may or may not have been correct? There is far more to the story. Get your source on to it.
  16. Despite the fanfare, unlikely our development players will be called upon. Well aware of current predicament & the need for experience before anybody starts. Introduction of our prospects has many variables - would help if the management knew the kids names or even conversed with them.
  17. His interview aligned with that hosted by Ben Banks with the exception of the reference to one of our developing players. Was no need, I’d wager I’m not the only one to think same. Like I said, he’ll have a difficult call to field today at some point. I’ve been assured of that. Undoubtedly did a good job. Certainly a bit of respect lost in our circle & others I've spoken to today. A move to a rival would cost him money if information is correct.
