St Johnstone V Motherwell Sat 20 Feb 15:00

That lack of activity may well have saved the club though... -
Different halftime team talk now...
-
You've got to admit, upstaging Baraclough in splitting support so early in his tenure would've taken some doing. Surpassed with flying colours.
-
Fast becoming the best fullback we've never had this one... Questionable off field performance, hasn't ousted Josh Law under 3 managers. Actions speak loudest methinks.
-
Oh! Oh! They'll be somebody along just shortly to make you see the error of your ways, you know, the 'totally misunderstands the whole concept of being a supporter'...
-
That's crass Mr W, even in the uber fan debate we get on here. Just over 3,700 there today, so, there are plenty voting with their feet. When the product on the park doesn't befit the support given off it (that's before our current incumbent's divisive antics) - it's easy to drift away.
-
Mind, offloading deadwood doesn't mean monies in the coffers or freeing space in an inflated squad size... Necessary measures.
-
Well, bully for you uber 'Well fan. Neither have I felt the need to bring a flare or smoke bomb/pellet to set off at a game or turn a football match into a political demo, etc, etc. Unfortunately there has been problems with police & stewards, that's just the way it goes.
-
Whilst I agree with your opening gambit big fella, that was a young Motherwell fan was it not? Certainly alluded to that in a copy of the Motherwell Times...
-
Your last comment is laughable in the extreme. I definitely don't see them 'coming on here always complaining about stewarding' - some by explanation, defending actions to those who choose to mock/lack understanding/feign outrage*. Truth is many have long since gave up the ghost on here as it's permeated by sycophants & porridge dribblers where I don't doubt you are high up on that list. As for the solidarity demos, another issue done to death on here. Whilst I and many reckoned it was a faux-pas on their part, they most likely believed in something for their greater good. *delete as applicable

Aye, if your aunt had grown balls she'd be your uncle. Can you honestly say ritual public humiliation is good management skill? I'd surmise it's highly unlikely to have any positive effect on Easy Lionel at all - and will highly likely kill what little confidence he has left after a recent stint on the bench. Given the soft nature of goals we concede, why he was singled out in a way that our erm, 'senior players' escape criticism is beyond me. Poor decision making that costs us isn't unique, he shares some company... our captain, McManus or Hammell to name but a few?
-
Definitely not a face of concern among 'em at what you & other throbbers in our support think.
-
I don't think you understand how our club works do you? He's employed as much for his off-field work as any contribution to the first team & at little outlay.
-
You'll have also seen McManus didn't cover himself in glory with his clearing header or Pearson - in space, time to control & make a better decision & perhaps try and find one of our men or take responsibility by bringing it out himself. Instead he blindly launched it straight to one of the opposition. 2 to 3 touches later we were beat... That's your 'senior players' for you. Trying to give McGhoo the benefit of the doubt this time round & he's went and made one of our player's cry - shite state of affairs.
-
And another... Breathing issues, theory & practise, apparatus required - it's a role I happen to undertake at work. I know fine well he broke the law. The law is an ass, but, the reporting we have seen recently is factually wrong & it stems from our own Motherwell Times chief reporter Mike McQuaid. Breaching the bail order in what was essentially high jinks (not a deliberate act to cause chaos as has been described or suits the agenda of your likes) shouldn't be a custodial sentence. Plenty of recent evidence that kiddie fiddlers receive far less...
-
Bore off. There is more holes in your argument than swiss cheese.
-
Your last statement... think most involved realised this a while back & that the use of smoke pellets is rarer than it used to be. Flares were never commonplace as much as the naysayers would have you believe.
-
Hence, tapping into a subject that many have little or no understanding... I've seen plenty evidence that they do distance themselves.
-
And another... Why do so many who have little or no appreciation of the subject in question have to comment on it? They do self police, but, realistically can only do so much. This isn't helped by overreactions from those paid to serve and protect on nearly every occasion. Oh! and because they haven't told you directly doesn't mean they've not acknowledged some failings from within.

Wind your neck in, that's a ludicrous statement 'I'm glad he was given five months hope there's some sort of banning order to follow...' These devices are used in everyday life & I see them in use regularly in my line of work. A football stadium is hardly a confined space in relation to the usage of the smoke pellets. And before the holier than thou get uppity - I don't condone their use at the match despite relative harmlessness - no recorded death or injury is there? I'd question the reporting of the incident as I'm of the understanding he was banned for the smoke pellet incident, breaching that ban on January 2nd has induced his custodial sentence. Punishment hardly fits the crime. We now have an 18 year old facing likely army discharge with little future prospects for what amounts to high jinks as the authorities flex muscles whilst allowing far more heinous behaviour to eat our once great country from the inside out. It's folly on a major scale. Onto the uber fan debate... This has been done to death on here - 'and never had an ounce off bother with the polis or stewards so why can't they just no be wee dicks they ruin it for everyone' - You know them personally likes? I know there is plenty of young professionals in that group who are in it only for the love of creating something that's theirs, adding colour & a support to our team that lacked for so long. Whilst it looks like the club have tired of their enthusiasm (they never see the full picture of what can be the average fan's matchday experience despite as much as they would have us believe), the players actively welcome it, embrace it even. This going to war is a misnomer - events are dealt with disproportionately to enable the authorities to cream excess earning to prop poor budgets. As much as you say it 'shames the club', I'd counter that with the Neanderthals who pollute our fanbase.
