  1. Very decent signing that one.
  2. Take our time and hopefully get it right,we will most likely still be bringing in players right up until the window closes so we will need to be patient, thats a lot better than jumping in early and signing dross off the likes of partick thistle.
  3. Exactly, there's no way we can be going back to relying on mugabi or even lamie for that matter, those days should be over.our upturn in form last season was partly due to getting decent defenders into the team and that's what we should be looking for again and not going with proven bombscares.
  4. According to scott burns, casey is waiting to see if interest from england comes to anything and goss has interest from india.i would like both to stay especially casey but we can't wait around much longer for them to decide.
  5. Agreed about miller, hopefully he shows up well during pre season and puts himself right into contention when the league cup starts as there's every chance he could be heavily involved in they games with cornelious gone and real doubts about goss coming back,I just hope that barry maguire doesn't get any game time before miller as that would be a right sickener.
  6. Fletcher is done and would probably still command a decent wage,I really hope it's nothing more than a rumour and we stay well clear of him.
  7. Paton and obika did well enough as bit part players last season,I'm ok if that's what the plan is for them again this time around.we will definitely need to bring in some that can make a real difference though with van veen gone, butcher missing the start of the season and casey might not be back.
  8. The only good thing is it hasn't dragged on and we have plenty of time to hopefully get two decent strikers in.to move back to holland at 32 and on more money than he's ever been on is brilliant for him, best of luck to him.
  9. I was hoping we wouldn't bring obika back, same goes with mandron,we definitely don't need both.
  10. I agree with that,I think loaning him out for a few months made sense, especially with o'donnell and mcginn in front of him at that point.if hammell had stayed I personally don't think we would have seen much of max and if he did play he would have been hung out to dry in a 4 at the back.the bigger picture is we looked completely doomed at one point,we changed manager who then switched formations and max revelled in it,were just unfortunate that he's going to leave so soon but he played his part in the clubs survival this season.its upto the people at the club to find someone else,I just hope we're looking at keeping the idea of playing with attacking full backs, both max and furlong were excellent at that last season.
  11. I would think any add ons would come from groningen getting promoted back to the top flight.
  12. 500k plus add ons for van veen according to sky.
  13. I was never really a fan of either to be honest,I dread to think what they cost us while they were here, brannan to be fair was fond of cracking goal every so often, mainly when the game was on the tele, his goal when we beat hearts in the cup at fir park when they won it the year before was a peach, that was probably my favourite game throughout that whole period.it was definitely an interesting time for us,I was obsessed with reading the papers each morning as we were linked with new players pretty much everyday 😂.
  14. I wish he was going to stay but I get we will end up with an offer we can't turn down, the positive is that it doesn't look like it's going to drag on,if we need to replace him it's best we have plenty of time to do so rather than going down to last days of the transfer window and we find ourselves in a total lose lose scenario.
  15. I think boyle really thought we could take it to the old firm when he took over but he had no clue in running a football club, putting nevin and davies in such important roles was a huge mistake,we needed experience in the dugout and behind the scenes.theres definitely been more enjoyable times following us when we were skint than shelling out fortunes to watch the likes of spencer and brannan.
  16. Groningen have now put a bid in for van veen according to sky
  17. Looking back on that time when we were throwing money about, our recruitment was pretty dire considering what we were spending on fees and wages,we should have done so much better.im sure there was some decent names bring linked with the job at the time as well,it's still a mystery to this day why we thought going with davies was a good idea,he always struck me as a bit of an oddball so it's no surprise to hear a crackpot theory that he wanted his office swept for listening devices.
  18. Park is a total arsehole the sooner he's out the club the better, that sounds petty as fuck to be covering the back of the seats in the hunter.so that means if your standing in the queue for a pie or whatever you'll not see any of the game from there, total madness,I'm guessing he was the clown that came up with the idea of painting a line the length of the hunter to stop folk congregating at the back.
  19. Rodgers left to manage in a better league and earn more money, same as postecoglu is now, gerrard jumped at the first chance, the old firm are small fry despite there fans thinking there some global institutions.if rodgers does come back he will come out with how he has unfinished business at celtic and there brainless supporters will soon forget why they were pissed off in the first place.
  20. Agreed, looking at him he is exactly what you would be wanting in a centre half,he's big and strong with a decent turn of pace but sadly the positional sense isn't there and it genuinely feels like he could make an arse of it at any second when he's on the park.were definitely at the stage where it would suit both parties if he moved on over the summer.
  21. I hope we're looking at moving the likes of maguire and shields on,the thought of them picking up another year worth of wages is grim.i know we like to stick by players that have been out injured but there's no way we can go back to having mcginley and carroll as our left back options, ideally they both move on but I don't see it happening.sadly I think max will be gone but if we could keep casey and furlong that would be huge for us.
  22. Aye I think max will definitely be away sadly and I think the odds on van veen being here next season are very slim.if both do leave hopefully the money we receive will ensure we can find the right replacements.like you grizzly I would love to see furlong again next season,he started off shaky but has grown into an important player for us,seeing two young full backs on either side getting forward and putting balls into the box and be a goal threat has been really enjoyable to watch, hopefully that's plan for next season whoever is playing.agreed again about mandron, they guy is average at best, there's no way we can keep him and obika on next season.
  23. Spot on,the budget for next season is likely to be the lowest it's been for years,we can't be handing out contracts to those two, there brutal, mandron at times looks like he's never seen a ball before and mugabi can't be trusted not to make an arse of it.
  24. The game went as expected, there's zero entertainment value to be had playing professional football on a shocker of a plastic pitch.its disappointing we didn't hang on for the win but coming away with any result playing on that surface isn't a bad thing.we really need to sort ourselves out though when it comes to playing against 10 men,it's beyond a joke and definitely isn't a coincidence.
  25. I don't particularly rate either but I get our budget will mean that we will most likely keep one of them on for next season,we definitely don't need both though.
