  1. I wouldn't like to think so as Hammell is left exposed far too often when Forbes is playing left-mid. Craig Brown likes to set his team up to be hard to beat and not to lose too many goals so I'd be surprised if Forbes has been told not to put much effort into tracking runs.
  2. He never seems to bust a gut to get back when we lose the ball. I know he isn't the fastest but he always seems to be strolling/jogging back which suggests to me that he's struggling for fitness.
  3. Surely he'd have to see him actually have a similar number of appearances rather than just see him at a similar percentage of games? Not sure if you were just making a crap point or trying to have a play on words but either way it just comes across as a pathetic attempt to stick up for your mate. It's very honourable of you to try to defend mon_da_well at every turn. I can't believe how many opinions you two share, you must be like 2 wee peas in a pod!
  4. I'd have thought you would have had to have seen him in a similar number of games as Ruddy to make the judgement that he's just as good.
  5. If Fraser is no worse than Ruddy then why does Craig Brown continually pick a keeper who is only on loan to us as opposed to a keeper who is actually ours? Out of interest how many full games have you actually seen Fraser play to come to this conclusion?
  6. So according to your source Craig Brown wants £15,000 a week? You're right it does sound crazy.
  7. Is one of their games in hand not against Rangers?
  8. The referee and linesmen wearing the same colour as the Hibs keeper on saturday seems like a pretty basic error. And that was one of his better decisions.
  9. Stonewall penalty. The defender took the legs from Murphy and the linesman clearly saw it as I was right behind him and had the same view. He looked as if he was always itching to get his flag up to give decisions to Hibs but was reluctant to give us anything. A couple of guys lost the plot with him and had to be restrained by stewards which tells it's own story as it's the first time I've seen that at the Cooper end of the East.
  10. No he wouldn't, he would have been watching for offside. In that situation the linesman's remit is to watch for offside and the referee watches the rest of the box. It's funny how the linesman at that side spotted an offence that never took place and the linesman at the other side somehow missed the offence of Novo blatantly kicking O'Brien after the ball had gone even though it was about a yard away from him. As has been said before at worst it's cheating and at best it's bottling it.
  11. Given that there is a quote from Ian Holloway I'd be surprised if it was made up.
  12. Jack Ross isn't in that picture and it was him who was playing Lasley onside.
  13. It's all very well reducing the prices the more season tickets you sell but you have to take into account that the extra tickets sold will reduce the "pay at the gate" money every week. It's not as simple as working it out so that you get the same figure for whatever amount is sold. Also, I know Bradford did this once but do they still do it?
  14. Good solid performance today. Nice to see the defence has had a couple of clean sheets in the last 2 SPL games as well although I am a bit surprised as I was under the impression that they weren't good enough for that.

    New Manager

I've found it pretty hard to watch the last 4 games and couldn't fathom some of the substitutions Gannon was making but I tried not to over-react as I thought he had the best interests of the club at heart and this was all part of his masterplan. Imagine how John Boyle must have felt watching the same games knowing full well that Gannon wasn't willing to commit to the club and would be off like a shot if he got an offer from down south? It's no wonder he told him to get to. I was willing to give Gannon the benefit of the doubt as I thought he had a plan and was a man of his word. It now looks as if he was talking a lot of shit about his plans for the future and was merely using us until something better came along down south. To me he is more dishonourable than Muttley as at least he achieved something with us before whoring himself about.
  16. And it will also be interesting to see if Young gets the players tackling again and if they look as if they're enjoying it.
  17. Really? My opinion is that it was because of his refusal to commit to the club for any length of time while applying for jobs down south.
  18. Do you have inside information on this or is it just an opinion? I'm beginning to get a little worried by the recent performances and post match interviews but was kind of hoping Gannon had a trick or two up his sleeve for the transfer window. Maybe the critisism of the team in the lead up to the transfer window is a ploy to get Boyle to release some cash?
  19. I remember in Jennings first game he looked as if he liked a tackle but that part of his game has all but disappeared. In games such as yesterdays the odd crunching tackle wouldn't have gone amiss to show that they were up for a fight and to get the fans going. Too often this season we've been on the receiving end and done nothing about it.
  20. I've supported the team for over 25 years so I have seen my fair share of defeats. However I don't think I have ever been as frustrated as I have been this season. To see us play so well in some games and so utter horrendously in others is hard to take, and add to that the number of defeats that we have snatched from the jaws of victory due to "tinkering". I'm seriously considering not going next week as I don't think I can stand watching Hamilton taking the piss the way St Johnstone did, and as Gannon says there's no way we'll keep a clean sheet.
  21. This has been one of the most frustrating seasons I can remember. I'm happy with what Gannon is trying to do and happy with where we are sitting in the league considering we are rebuilding at the moment but I find it frustrating that there never seems to be any urgency or change of style during games. Even against 10 men we have the slow, laborious build up which gives the opposition plenty of time to get everybody back behind the ball and then when we lose it they hit us on the break.

    Jim O'Brien

I remember someone posting that Jim O'Brien had split with his girlfriend over her unwillingness to move to Aberdeen (may have been Onthefringes?). There's a story in one of the Sunday rags confirming the split so there could be more than a bit of truth in this.
  23. Totally humiliating result yesterday but it may not be all bad. If we were going to lose we might as well take a pumping to show that the current tactics haven't been working very well for a while now. Hopefully this will lead to a re-think and we can get a bit of a reaction in the nexat game.
  24. If Aberdeen are willing to pay him big money to go up there then more fool them. He's a good player but I don't see him as a match winner and I think Gannon will get a decent replacement for him if he leaves in January.
  25. Another gripe about the officials performance was - 5 substitutions, both managers spoken to by the referee, two sendings off, 1 goal, 1 injury with the physio on = only 3 minutes injury time. Not that we had them totally under the cosh or anything but it must have been a boost to the 9 men to see the board going up with that.
