    Paul Mcgrillen

I'm shocked by this. Thoughts are with Paul and his family. Can anyone confirm if black armbands will be worn in this evenings game?
  2. They are all fair points regarding what McGhee did for the team and club. I think some peoples judgement is being clouded by what Mark McGhee said and did via the media. In my opinion he he did a good job up to a point but is an arse who has a track record of initially doing well at a club and then bailing out or being sacked because he knows he is one-dimentional. You may or may not have noticed that Mark over-pronounces the word "I" and that is probably because it is his favourite word! Also, I've no quibble with players who jump ship for a better offer if they deserve it but if they start touting themselves for it through the media while being contracted to and being paid by MFC I'll slate them as well.
  3. Was it not the first Scottish team to go through after losing the first leg at home?
  4. Hopefully we'll kick lumps out of the lot of them the same as they tried to do to us. The light weight and the 19 year old can get booted along with the rest of them.
  5. For the last couple of games at New Broomfield I've found that as the traffic is queued back from Airdire to Newhouse it's been best to go onto the M8 and go up through Coatbridge. It only takes about 15 minutes that way.
  6. Seems plausible since he seems to be stalling on a move to Hearts. I know there's a lot of talk about him possibly being with us next season but does anybody know if Gannon's even interested in him?
  7. I agree that naming people as alleged assailants is wrong and personally I'd never dream of being involved in anything like that. Anyway, I found a big wig while I was down in Llanelli. Does anyone know the username or name of anyone who was wearing one so that I can return it?
  8. I assumed it would be on in all pubs that normally showed football. I realise it's on a different channel but surely they'll all have it?
  9. Which one would he pick though? Too many choices! Anyway, now that the spot jokes have been exhausted I'm away for some ginger.
  10. Of course it can be upsetting. Strange surroundings, away from family and friends, wife/girlfriend stuck at home with the kids while the player is away preparing for or playing games. Not everybody can adapt to change easily. Look at Stevie Hammell as a prime example. He knew his family weren't as happy as they should be so he brought them home.

    V Accies

I didn't shout and bawl at him because of his ability or because of the country he chose to play for. I did it because he elbowed one of our players after the ball had gone out of play. Is that allowed or can he not be booed for that either because he thinks he's Irish?
  12. And his wife is James McFadden's cousin.
  13. I was very disappointed in Falkirks tactics today. As a player John Hughes wasn't the sort of guy you'd want to go into a 50/50 with but some of the challenges from his players today were nothing short of cowardly. Going through the back of players on the deck as well as at headers, late challenges etc. Being a local boy Kevin McBride should know better than try to hurt people when they're least expecting it as it may well come back to haunt him judging by some of the comments I heard today.
  14. If the original poster would rather have Pressley in the team than Reynolds I think he should be banned from posting on the grounds of mental insanity. Reynolds is a young boy who wasn't at his best today and Pressley is a seasoned pro who looked mediocre at best in a crap team. I know which one I'd rather have.
  15. The point is the guy doesn't agree with it. They're supporting a Scottish team in a Scottish league so what's the point in wearing Irish colours? Hibs and Dundee United fans don't do it so why should Celtic fans? If they do it to wind up the bigots is that not contributing to bigotry?
  16. If I'm reading this correctly you're basically moaning that "the Fir Park fans" are negative and to prove your point you're replying to a positive post in a negative fashion. Where's the point in that? Or am I missing the point completely?
  17. Why not? I play amateur football and support a professional football team. If the professional football team I support didn't want me but another one did I'd go and play for them. I wouldn't be as passionate playing for them but I'd do it just to experience what it was like. Does that make me a traitor?
  18. If, as has been said on here, the money would have gone to creditors it wasn't MFC's money anyway so I've got no issue with him pursuing it in his own time at his own cost. In fact I'd rather he did it than Motherwell waste any more time and money on something that, best case scenario, would have seen them come out with hee-haw. Some people need to take the anti-Boyle specs off.
  19. There is though. Their choices were:- McLean - Northern Ireland or nothing O'Brien - ROI or nothing Commons - Scotland or nothing McGeady - Scotland or ROI McGeady was the only one with a real choice to make.

    Sutton

To be fair to him he's only played 4 of the last 8 games and in those games the majority of the team did nothing. Sutton obviously isn't as good as Porter so if one has to be dropped it will be Sutton but I still think he has the ability to be a good player for us.
  21. There was plenty of football from Jim O'brien. The last time I checked running at players with the ball, running off the ball and tracking back were all part of the game. He commits defenders and pulls them out of position through his runs. Even if he doesn't get past them we should be looking to win the second ball and move into the space that he's created. I thought he did well against Hearts and think he deserves a bit of praise. You're right we aren't running a sprint team and luckily we aren't running a football team either as judging by some peoples opinions on football we wouldn't get very far!
  22. I'm pretty sure there is tackling in Premiership teams training. Claude Makalele almost snapped Ashley Cole's leg with a training ground tackle the night before the Champions League final.
  23. On current form I'd drop Reynolds when Craigans fit.
  24. Given McGhee's recent signing record it might take him 50 signings to find a decent player.

    Mark McGhee

That was a Malpas type performance from both the team and McGhee. The only difference being McGhee stands up while looking unintrested and clueless. And to think McGhee's probably getting double what Malpas earned to produce the same shite. If he can find a club willing to take him he can go anytime as far as I'm concerned as it doesn't look like he's got the heart or the tactical nous to get us out of this mess.
