  1. You dont have to be a genius to know Motherwell budgeting for 4th or a cup win is insanity.

Obviously we have bigger wages Einstein and if we cant afford them we shouldnt be paying them , same goes for Jim 'the second coming' Obriens transfer fee.

When you take £16 and £11 off of tickets and then get the same attendance as you got when the tickets were full price , your making a fair loss when multiplied by 5000.

Its not rocket science , once they tell us they wont be pulling that stroke again i'll listen to them moaning about being skint

  2. So in a season where we had the Uefa cup , both legs live on TV and our smallest first team squad in a while we need to win the cup or finish in the top 4 to break even ? Who's our financial advisor ? Nick Leeson ?

Thank fuck John Boyle told him to stick his John Kennedy idea up his arse

Taking £16 and £11 off of those Rangers tickets was a masterstroke , still no word if it will repeated against the Green scum.

Neednt come crying to the support pleading poverty if they do .

  3. The thing is the club was told that St Mirren would look at getting another 500 tickets for us and that was the last communication they had.

Do you then expect the Club to announce that St Mirren would look at getting extra tickets for sale on the day then 6 hours before the game they have to announce that St Mirren haven't been able to get them?

When tickets are being supplied by another club the best thing the club can do is wait until they have confirmation.

There's already been a post before 'Flow confirmed the tickets about someone leaing Aberdeen on the off chance he MIGHT get a ticket. In this instance he is aware that he might not get a ticket but what if he had left Aberdeen thinking he was garaunteed one?

The Club did it right this time, there was no confusion as the Club did let it be known earlier in the week how many tickets they had left from their initial allotment. They also let it be known that IF there was any left they would be on sale on the day.

As 'Flow said they had 10 left at one point so there'd have been no sale on the day.

If anything it's good on the club for being able to get another 500 tickets. If we sell these out then there'll be 1500 Motherwell fans at the game which is a helluva lot more than we normally take.

Flow's post dated at 730 yesterday yesterday advises us to phone St Mirren , whether that's in an official MFC capacity or what i dont know ? so no confusion right enough. St Mirren announced days ago that it was a sell out so they werent going to be selling these 500. Most (Every?) SPL club shuts down for the 2 days , every club knows every other club closes for the two days so the options are chase it up for the fans before or leave it to this morning. Did St Mirren decide this morning or Wednesday is the question i suppose ?

Id hope for better next year if we didnt chase it at COB on Wednesday, at least there are extra tickets , so no more flogging of a dead horse. 'Mon the 'Well.

  4. We were only told on the Wednesday afternoon after they phoned for an update as to how many we had sold. When we had informed them that we had less than ten left, they said they'll look at getting another 500 made available.

Despite phone calls and emails on Thursday and Friday, we only were able to confirm it with them this morning. We didn't want to announce on Wednesday (or Thursday or Friday) encase they weren't going to go ahead with it and it was us that was giving our wrong or premature information and leaving people disappointed.

Not ideal we can only confirm six hours before kick off but I suppose with the holiday period and the likes then there was very little Motherwell could do despite our best attempts at early confirmation.

    'Flow

Fair enough although as they were shut for two days and i dont suppose they are printing them as we speak i still think that you (the club rather than blaming you personally) couldve had confirmation on Wednesday and put it out.

I know theres loads goes on around a football club , sponsors , hospitality and loads more but to the rank and file getting into the game is one of the most important things to know. Following on from the "communications" thread on here where it was said lessons had been learned from the Nancy ticketing thing , we had the Hamilton saga days later where the ticket office was shut , ticket office was open and at one of the next all ticket games we still have some confusion. Well done on Inverurie BTW i think the club done well there.

I think that it should be priority though in future that the best info is available on tickets , that means accurate TO opening times in advance on the official site as opposed to announcing at 10 oclock at night or as you say 6 hours before KO that there will be tickets available after all.

    Keep up the good fight

  5. Great to see some openness Flow. In the past this is just the sort of situation that some would have got torn into MFC for. Yes, we've suffered from poor communication but its not all one way. Running a football club isn't easy.

    Hmm

An alternative view would be that it isnt rocket science that St Mirren like MFC would be closed for the two days so have the information and make it public on the 31st rather than the morning of the game.

At least it's good news that everyone should get in , 'mon The 'Well.

  6. Come on £22 just before christmas with game live on telly!

You forgot the credit crunch as well. Was still a terrible showing at the first league derby in donkeys years ten minutes away at a time when the team needed support.

A lot of folk preferred to spend their money in the pub , supporting the team by watching the telly , their perogative . It does mean IMO that those folk have no right to demand tickets when they suddenly find the money a couple of weeks after Christmas to go on an all day bender 170 miles from home to see us play a pub team.

Nothing really to do with the point of the thread so i'll leave it at that.

  7. In these days of dwindeling support (our turn out at Hamilton when the team needed supporting was bordering on pathetic) i think that it's right that the club supports and rewards the Supporters Association , if anyone wants to travel to an away game they know that through the SA they can , be it through an individual bus or one of their group efforts if numbers are low.

Im not a SA member and think i last travelled on an official bus when i was a regular on Big Liz's when it ran from the baths but the SA are very valuable when it comes to away support and their efforts should be helped at every turn IMO. Those moaning about it , join up , next time you'll get a ticket and you'll be helping ensure that the SA continues and there'll be transport available for those wanting to back the team in the future. Of course you wouldnt be able to moan then , that might put some of you off.

  8. That does sound like a good idea to begin with.

A good idea unless you're in charge of finances , to make money at half price we'd need more than double the current away support , the game against Aberdeen last year where we all but qualified for Europe it was cheap gate and they were in the mix yet had a poor support by their standards IMO , they cant get anywhere near the gates they were getting 10 years ago and they have probably the best support outwith the OF.

Cheaper gates would be a start but the product would have to improve as would policing / stewarding , the whole matchday experience basically . £20odd quid plus travel expense to be treated like a criminal , folk just wont pay it

  9. Those moaning about the 'Well boys and Saturday Service probably done so having came from Daniels or wherever else was showing it free on Saturday.

The 'Well boys back the team probably more than anyone else and love them or loath them the Saturday Service have been following the team through thick and thin for over 20 years.Same old faces as those that go to the games will vouch. Noted presence again on Saturday when those who moaned their tits off about them being in Nancy were spending their ticket money on booze in Daniels

  10. The ticketing fiasco in itself is a complete joke pricing wise but if youd like to concentrate on the actual communication then the initial release , did we have an official media conference when it was put out by mistake or was it only John Boyle on radio waxing lyrical about it that night ? He didnt sound too confused about it.

Maybe its just me but the speed he was on there that night and the night last season where he aplogi .... grovelled to Celtic fans about the postponement seems in marked contrast to his approach to us , last i heard from him the pitch was being ripped up , and we'd have a bowling green this year.

Things like the above mean there is very little if any trust in what the club actually do tell us in fact its bordering on offensive when they expect you to swallow any old pish . "An initiative to make football cheaper for all" aye right as those fans furthest away pay £7 more than the Glasgow two.

The official site now has a blank page for anyone looking for pricing .What good is this for non regulars , anyone in fact .Everyone wonders what happened to the South Stand offers and when John Boyle changed his mind about the Rangers game only being an experiment , we're wondering if he'll extend the experiment to their neighbours. The club likes to communicate that its skint when explaining away why we cant put a bet on in the stadium why the food is terrible fayre and value , the East Stand Tannoy is rotten , our target signings are bottom end and so much more , so how much did we make from this little earner with Rangers ?

Do those in charge at the club understand the depth of ill feeling a lot of our support has for the Old Firm and the wedge being driven between the fans and club when the perception is those in charge are bending over for them ?

Was this communication 3 days later explaining that it was a big mistake appear on the official site ? Apologies if it did , i must have missed it

Details were gathered preseason for a new database , others ive put down have had no communication at all from the club in this time

Trying to get through to speak to anyone on the phone at Fir Park is a hit or a miss. An email reply is about as rare . Undefendable

People have been asking on here all week if the ticket office would be open tomorrow , no mention on the official site of any opening hours even in updates about how sales were going. Although in the recent past ticket office times on the site have seen people travel distance only to be greeted by a closed door and pulled down shutters. Its all good and well saying lessons from Nancy were learned but folk are scratching their heads about how to get tickets for tomorrow and may have even missed out.

Regular meetings between club and fans , even using the websites/a chatroom for an hour one night a month would certainly help as at present bad feeling is just festering and lingering , the length of time to communicate with ST holders wasnt on especially when the letter sent to Rangers fans reps was sent out first , who's fans come first at Fir Park ?

  11. and im 31 , ill still be getting in for £11.

You actually started this interaction with your helpful reply about whether or not tickets were on sale on Saturday morning anywhere for those of us wanting to go.

    Thanks.

  12. Aye, and I'll support them from the pub if that's okay with you? Unless you want to give me £22 that I don't have for a ticket?

Or the third option is to accept I will support the team in any manner I choose

What you do is your business and not mine to judge , speaking generally though some of the biggest moaners i know in the Motherwell support will be sitting in the pub whinging about how shite we are instead of spending the money (£11 if you make the effort) getting behind the team in a massive game .

I would say if you are looking for me to nibble then sitting in Jack Daniels drinking tap water or free booze is stretching supporting the team even by my over active imagination.
