Yes but he'll be a free agent in the summer. So he could feasibly sign on with us if he wants to stay and Wimmer wants him to.
-
Id like to see Armstrong stay with us - if Carlisle will allow him to return.
-
The funniest bit is where they removed the it's full of Buckfast and well fans chant to be replaced by the we are the well can you hear us.
-
I won't bother saying who I voted for 😬🤣
-
I don't see that the players will be in holiday mode if we can still get 7th. Don't think Wimmer would let that happen to be fair
-
Im sorry for him too.. But not that sorry. I will be sorry if he gets the sack but I'm sure I saw someone say that he had already had another job offer this season that he turned down so I'm sure he'll be fine no matter
-
That's Dundee winning - County in play off spot as it stands
-
Saying nothing 🤣🤣🤣
-
Indeed.

Am sure my mum taught beside Davie Whiteford at Garrion. (she did, just asked her). She taught beside Roger Hynd at Garrion too.
-
🤣🤣🤣. Yeah that's it. The all comments section is wild!

Well done to the two people elected - but only 15 per cent of well society members voted.

Naismith is the name being quoted in the press

There's surely a benefit to not being relegated - not trying to be facetious here but if we went down for a club our size there's no guarantee that we would come straight back up. I also don't think we are regressing. It's fine margins. The league is tight and we've just missed out on a couple of occasions. Some people have said that the quality of players in previous years has been much better - but as someone pointed out the other day - even when we did have quality players -we ended up in a play off We are maybe stagnating. But I don't think we are regressing
-
Yes they have. There have been comments about getting him out and getting Arnott or Naismith in. Someone who knows the Scottish game was the exact comment - and the comment is still there. I've no reason to make it up when it's on the page.
-
Exactly this

You're right. It's fine when we win. When we don't Dougie Arnott has to be our manager - I just texted my brother to tell him that and his response was that he thought some people have had too much sun.
-
They are. Particularly on Facebook. Ranging from we haven't had a new manager bounce to he's rubbish - it seems to be a pattern to be fair - when we get beat the chants of he must go go up. Some comments as well as to how he doesn't know the Scottish game. I think some people don't quite get that his stats are actually decent and - there are also people blaming him for the fact that we didn't get top six. I get that it's been a disappointing season in a lot of respects but come on - he can only do so much with the players he has and we are safe from relegation - job done in my view. I hope we scud Killie and Ross County just to prove the detractors wrong.

The problem is we really do not have the sprinkling of home grown talent anymore. Miller aside. That's not putting down the young lads who are doing well elsewhere but I don't think they are ready to make the step up. Wilson struggled this year after a bright start. We can't rely on young players these days. Cornelius was offered terms and refused them because he wanted to progress down south and was obviously on better money than we could pay him. I think the days of youth players coming through are sadly long gone - and even if they do perform then they might go elsewhere. Like Rice to Rangers and Johnson (we really messed up with that one).

Agree

I also am as frustrated as anyone this year. But there have been comments on here this year about how spineless the team are and how they would never win against St Johnstone and then Dundee - and they did. If Motherwell are so rubbish all of the time then why have we got safety for the 41st season in a row I was also talking to a couple of people from the well society last week re Kettlewell. They had nothing but good things to say about him. They said that he was very involved with the community and he used to send players out to see fans who were unwell and who might never see another game again. They had nothing but good things to say about him. That he genuinely cared about the fan base and the wider community. They were genuinely sorry he was gone even if it might have been for the best in the long run. They spoke very highly of him and the way he conducted himself around the club. I get why people are sore at the way he left - but he's been rinsed all over social media when people who knew him were gutted that he left. It's just got really negative lately and right now there are people calling for Wimmer to be sacked elsewhere on social media. Because we aren't higher in the table. I personally can't understand that (I honestly can't be arsed right now. I've never seen it so negative and it's got nothing to do with Kettlewell, the fact that people are calling for Wimmers head less than three months in is a nonsense in my view)

None of us will get the answers to the questions some people are asking. The club won't tell fans players salaries - Motherwell made the decision to sign SOD and McGinn again. Wimmer is getting the blame for SOD but his extension was agreed before Wimmer came in. It's up to the club to make decisions - we aren't all going to agree with them. There are fans who think McGinn has been missed and others who think otherwise. We also don't know who is staying or going -I'll happily put my trust in Wimmer for now
-
We stayed up. We got higher in the league than a lot of people gave us credit for - that's a win in my book. I'll be happy to see the end of this season too - but I'm not sure what people are expecting. If we were as crap as some people think we are we would be bottom of the table. And just before anyone tries to rinse me over my point of view (not particularly you). I'm as unhappy as lots of people on here - I just don't get what's to be gained from constantly slagging the players off. We're safe - and hopefully there will be a decent rebuild next season
-
McGinn was contracted till 2025 with the option of another year.
-
Yes. There was an extension that was triggered
