Its not the fact you are posting guesswork or not - you are suggesting that Hammell wasn't well treated but you can't say exactly what because it's for him to say - that's completely fine but it explains nothing to anyone on here. I personally didn't think Hammell was the right person for the job from the outset. I thought he was too inexperienced at that level. It was very clear that something was wrong as time went on - you could see how stressed he was in post match interviews. And yes - we are struggling just now but as someone said above - we are five matches unbeaten. From my point of view when Hammell left we didn't look as if that bad spell was going to turn around. I think we'd have been relegated without Kettlewell last season. It's a result driven business as everyone knows - sure Kettlewell knows that too. And if we hit a slump again I'm sure Kettlewell knows his job will be at risk.

Some people on here have been quite open about the fact they want Kettlewell to go. And from recollection a lot of fans didn't want Hammell to go and were hugely supportive of his appointment. If he hadn't been a club legend I think he'd have parted ways with us sooner. I certainly don't recall fans calling for his head all over social media the way some people have been with Kettlewell. A lot of fans seemed genuinely sorry that the appointment didn't work out. You seem to be suggesting that he didn't get the support he needed in the August transfer window and that he played the team in a style that he wasn't comfortable with? Surely if you are the manager and you are on the kind of run we were on at that point - if you need to make changes on the pitch you have the authority to make those changes. Otherwise what is the point of being manager?
-
Is that to me? We won two games on the bounce as soon as Kettlewell took over with the same squad. Im quite aware of the situation we are in - let's sack Kettlewell and get someone new in eh - the revolving door
-
Hammell wasn't getting results and how does anyone know who he wanted moved on and when? He made the decision to punt half a dozen players in one day? That's the same Hammell who couldn't face the media the day of the cup defeat yeah? Couldn't even be arsed to tell the fans he was sorry about that result? When has Kettlewell ever hidden from an interview?

I think Paton is getting too much unnecessary stick just now and Halliday is an important player to have on the park.
-
Agree
-
I can't be bothered tbh. It's clear there's no room for opposing opinions on here. I'm as concerned as the next person about the position we are in just now.
-
I'm not suggesting people can't question Kettlewell.
-
Don't think we can blame everything on Kettlewell. Like the fact we were priced out of the bidding for Van Veen. Or the fact that another team didn't want to let a striker go to a potential relegation rival. Surely there's lots of factors in the mix leading up to the club not having lots of spare cash - like paying Alexander and Hammell off and other reasons.
-
I don't think it's as simple as to say that he's at fault that we lack attacking options. Do you think he wasn't trying to get a striker in during the transfer window?
-
I personally don't think the team is playing for draws. Everyone knows we are light up top and this is where our problems lie.
-
How do you know the new players we have recruited are awful. You don't want Bair? So you don't want someone who is scoring goals for us just now? Just get rid aye? Our defence was leaking goals ... Maybe that's why we signed some.
-
I personally would still rather keep them
-
Casey and Butcher when they are on form.
-
Agree. A nonsense tbh
-
Wasn't trying to suggest that it had anything to do with him being booed I wasn't at the game today but apparently some folk booed him and some clapped him. Personally I don't boo ex players but I agree. He's nothing to do with us now so from now on all I care about is that he helps Killie beat our opponents. Nothing else.
-
As someone else said earlier we won't face Killie many more times again this season if at all.
-
I actually don't think his heart is with Killie tbh. Not saying it's with us tbh but I think this might prove an expensive mistake for them. However if he gets fit and starts rattling in the goals against the teams below us I won't complain
-
It's not even prejudice. It's straw clutching. Any excuse to have a pop at Kettlewell. He signed someone who supports Rangers.. how dare he
-
And what is the big deal with Halliday being a Rangers fan? None. Zero. I would suspect very few of our players support Motherwell. As for Kettlewell who he supports away from managing us is completely his business. We had Terry Butcher as our manager. Didn't see many people crying over that.
-
Absolutely dreadful. I don't give a stuff if Halliday supports Rangers. Was it an issue when we signed Davie Cooper?
-
You are talking absolute shite. You just get off on making nasty comments about Kettlewell for the sake of it.
-
I don't agree with you about Halliday or Kettlewell. And there are plenty people not on here who think Paton had a decent game today. You're entitled to your opinion but does it make you feel good constantly running our team and manager down ? Kettlewell didn't mention Halliday in his post match interview. So how you think he's the main man is beyond me. You are just being snide for the sake of it because you want Kettlewell sacked I'll edit this to say that you do give players credit when it's due. But it's blatantly obvious you have a major problem with the manager.
-
Maybe as Kettlewell said when he signed Theo he saw potential in him. Hopefully he will continue to do a job for us.
