  1. Who is it they don't like? Phil, Amber? All of them?
  2. Thank you. You'd never think I did accounts to degree level... My head is just full of criminology just now.. Thanks again
  3. I don't think the club is run badly but as I've said before. I'd like to see us be in the situation where we didn't need to sell our best players to survive and thats why I'm open to outside investment
  4. I wasn't at the AGM.. So excuse me if all of the AGM talk means very little to me. And I'm not thick.. But all of this is way over my head.. Probably because I'm just a fan who turns up on match day and donates to the well society Maybe someone could explain it in simple terms
  5. He was talking about the Americans in his post as in I presume the proposed investor. Surely that won't have been discussed at the AGM
  6. No. He doesn't. He's just repeating stuff from "sources".
  7. As far as I'm aware there should not be any sides to any story. No Motherwell fan should know details of any proposal before other fans.
  8. As other people have said - where are the Well society going to find other money from? Unless there are cash reserves somewhere. I know it's possible that they could ask for extra donations from members. My whole issue with fan ownership is that there simply aren't enough members to make it work. No more than that - and I'm a member.
  9. See all this "from what you have heard" - that's just more rumours clearly. See unless people know something as fact - maybe it shouldn't be shared.
  10. Define "magic beans". None of us know what the proposed investment is
  11. But apparently you've said this year's team is dog shit - and that might be your genuinely held view. But we can't have this all ways. We can't be criticising fans who think we are punching above our weight making top six when fan ownership isn't allowing us to compete in the transfer market. Taking Van Veen as an example - I think we did the right thing not going for him - and I get that other factors are in play - fans coming through the gates are going to be different at every club etc but if we do want to compete with other clubs for players - we need more money. Otherwise we will be relying on loans, young talent and players like Bair the manager can help develop. It's all very well saying the club is financially stable. We are stagnating.
  12. And the proposed investor has said he was looking at other clubs before he settled on Motherwell
  13. So fans can't have less than 50 per cent share of a club? If fan ownership was working Motherwell wouldn't be looking for outside investment.
  14. The society are supposed to be putting together a funding proposal as far as I'm aware.
  15. I think no is the answer to that
  16. The vote will surely be legally binding. But yeah - I've been paying into the society for 6 years and I know very little about them - that's not their fault but all I've ever had is a weekly newsletter and that only started a couple of years ago.
  17. Because it was made clear by the well society that members would have the final say as to whether the society keep majority control or not.
  18. Maybe the well society have to take a share of responsibility for that as well.
  19. How I feel about the need for outside investment came long before anything to do with Bermack. And to be fair to him he has said nothing publicly about having to reduce the share to less than 51 per cent. That may well be his view. But he hasn't stated that. Other people have. Like Gavin McCafferty. I don't care about Netflix either or Hollywood connections. I don't even have a TV and I don't watch Netflix. I just wont write off someone wanting to invest in my club at this point
  20. And how does any manager know when he signs a player that they are going to be able to play consistently for 30-40 games? I believe Halliday was signed for another year when we got him on loan - it was in the press as far back as January that when his loan deal ended he'd be signing on for another year.
  21. Lamie went out on loan three weeks after the season started. Tierney is also on loan. McGinley was also recovering from a serious injury and made two starts afterwards. I don't know how you can say a player that went out on loan contributed nothing - of course he was going to contribute nothing playing for another club.
  22. We finished 7th last year and are currently 8th - it's fine margins clearly. As for the comment re punching well above our weight - I've not found it yet but there's a lot of interviews to watch. He was genuinely gutted at not making it in the post match interview that goes on the club feed. Personally - I'd love top 6 every year but it's a tight league and if we had a complete disaster of a season and then ended up tenth - I'd take that as well. Sometimes survival has to be the thing that matters most
  23. He might not . But the club might. Personally my issue with fan ownership is that there's only 3000 members. Members that could cancel at any point.
