  1. Cheers for that, al, though if I may point out this is strictly for non-Lanarkshire Steelmen. Oddballs, basically, though the polite term would be eccentrics
  2. It's inevitable, though if he goes anywhere, surely Aberdeen is by far the most likely destination.
  3. Best of luck to them, that's a fine achievement already.

    Canterbury

I know Canterbury are also making Preston's new strip next season, but do they work with any other clubs just now ?
  5. Just had the thought whether I'm the only weirdo who has pitched up out of the blue on the forum, or are there others? Are there any members of the forum who are ( unlike myself ) real diehard 'Well fans who have no connection to the town or the area, yet who, for some reason, came to support the club ? I'd be interested to hear their stories. Sorry if this thread has been done previously.
  6. . discuss.......... c***s Not sure how that works, but you're right about everyone deserving a second chance. I don't know whether he now regrets the infamous autograph, but I hope so. If it was a silly mistake as he played to the gallery, let the guy move on. However, should he really hold such unpleasant views, let him go to Australia, and hopefully take all other like minded fools with him.

What colour is the away ? Sorry if I've not bothered to see it mentioned further up the thread.

    Bigpie

Perhaps just the very pale blue that were everywhere in the early 90s ? I take no pleasure seeing a 'Well fan go a cropper like that, though I have no problem at all seeing a guy with Leeds tendencies do the same. Sorry big man
  9. I'm in the hat. Fingers crossed
  10. Was it actually said directly by someone from within Aberdeen, or was it the reporter giving it "my understanding is......" ? If a club representative, then they must have spoken to Motherwell first. It's unthinkable they would say something like that out of the blue.
  11. It's good news indeed. Get your passports out, folks
  12. Just don't post the video on here, mate I'd forgotten about Aberdeen, which is the more likely scenario re McGhee, IMO. But it's all conjecture just now. Time will tell, though it's inevitable his name will be linked to both jobs.
  13. Sources in Manchester are saying...............
  14. I don't think that's fair. Jock Stein was hardly from a traditional Sellick background but they accepted him, and if it was announced Alex Ferguson were taking over, they'd accept that, I'm guessing. I think McGhee will be an outside bet somehow. They'll want someone with a more successful track record.
  15. Why not? Top manager and a nice guy, but no chance he will leave Villa.
  16. That was a quick appointment I think it will be a Scot somehow. Davie Moyes would be the best of all for them, though I doubt they could attract him to the SPL. McGhee and Coyle will probably be other contenders. Sky Sports News just said Coyle is 2/1 favourite just now.
  17. Great thread, you can beat those nostalgic "where were you" conversations with fellow supporters. My mrs was there, aged 14, and she still gets excited when it's mentioned. I bought the match programme from someone on here months ago ( can't remember your name, sorry ) and she was thrilled, having lost hers years ago. I enjoyed reading your account of the day in your book, calfster. From another point of view, it certainly makes me realise how spoilt I am, but then again, some fans never see their team win the cup. I can hear Perry Como singing Magic Moments somewhere
  18. Wow, I can't begin to imagine what a trauma like that must be like that. I'm amazed they would do something like that. You should get in touch with them and tell them your experience. Shameful behaviour.
  19. Is that right, birthday today ? Happy birthday it is then. 123 is some age. What was it like at that first game, Special ?
  20. From a selfish point of view, I hope to see a match at FP as it stands now. When I see it on tv and the wife tells me where she used to stand as a kid, I find it moving. It's a proper old style stadium which has the character of a father telling son how it was in his youth. I hope that isn't too syrupy, but I like to know that community clubs relate to their core base. FP is a proper fans stadium, holding fans who have been there all their life. No gloryhunters at 'Well.
  21. I said that earlier in the thread re Ronaldo. We English do have a sense of humour, you know
  22. The Lafferty one isn't even a dive. It's a blatant feigning of serious injury which goes beyond any dive following a tackle.
  23. Local derby? That was a rout, mon the 'Well Lanarkshire's top dogs prevail
  24. You've got some nerve, starting a thread entitled the worst dive ever. I've been watching Cristiano Ronaldo for five years and he's done better than that in every appearance he's made
