  1. Just curious, do the club have a league championship medal? Considering this is and will probably be our only top flight championship win it would be nice to think that we have kept some memorabilia from this historic event.
  2. And safe in the knowledge that Celtic will hammer them home or away, as similar to us, they tend to collapse against them.
  3. I am roughly 6 months older than you AllyMax and yes I to have been scarred for life by JPR.
  4. This will be a tight game, however, hopefully we can sneak it 1-0.
  5. The 3-2 celtic cup game at Fir Park in the 70's was a game that I loved being at (we were 2-0 down and scored 3 to win the match). The other game was when Fergie's St Mirren came to Fir Park in the cup (this still has to be the biggest crowd that I have witnessed at Fir Park). Arbroath away in the cup also from the 70s. My PE teacher at Lanark Grammar was Cammy Murray who played for Arbroath and who also later coached at Motherwell. He kept winding us up that Arbroath were going to knock us out, so aye, I love the special atmosphere that only cup games can bring.
  6. Turning point in the second half, at 2-1 Celtic could have been vulnerable.
  7. Until we sort out this goalkeeping issue we will always be vulnerable to losing goals. It’s a specialised position and some would say the most important position in the team. It looks as if Neilson will not be a long term solution and McCall will no doubt be on the look out for a replacement. Hollis has looked more capable, however, like Neilson he has been suspect at times. To sum up we need at least one new keeper.
  8. Like it or not McCall explained in his pre match chat on the BBC why he doesn’t set his team out this way against Celtic. Personally I would just have a go.
  9. Very rare to see one of these appear for sale, however in 2009 a SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS GOLD MEDAL engraved to the reverse 'Won by Motherwell F.C. B.Ellis 1931-32', with nine carat gold rope neck chain - Sold for £1,300 @ McTears Auctioneers.
  10. mfcsuperwell has posted a link to the game in the shoutbox. Mon the Well!
  11. There in lies the problem, if any 'Motherwell fan' chooses to go along to the match for that reason there isn't much we can do about. If we go down the route of saying it wasn't us that did it was the bad boys in blue we would be no better than those Rangers fans who made similar excuses after the Manchester madness. Hopefully the game will be peaceful and any fan representing Motherwell will behave themselves. The time to get wrecked is after the game when we have hammered them 3-0.
  12. At times Celtic TV is comedy gold. If we are winning I will be turning the volume on my computer up to 11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xgx4k83zzc
  13. I got a stream last time as well and hopefully someone will be kind enough to post up a link nearer the time.
  14. Very few will match JPR Gordon, the Referee who gave Rangers 'that penalty' in the now infamous Scottish Cup semi final tie. He was also later found guilty of taking bribes in european games. This guy was so bad that I reckon the thread can be closed as no official past or present comes close to this apology for a referee.
  15. It is also worth noting that St Johnstone's attendances have risen this season by 17.7% this season.
  16. I don’t remember Meldrum being that bad, however, if anyone has video evidence I would be prepared to look at it. We have had far worse goalkeepers over the years with John Gardiner’s name instantly springing to mind.
  17. The attendance figures in league one and two make for interesting reading.
  18. Whilst I wouldn’t call him a fud, he certainly makes me nervous when he is between the sticks. We just need to try and give him as much protection as possible and hope that we catch them on an off day.
  19. Hearts fans claiming that Sutton’s goal was an OG and the ball was going wide. Didn’t look that way to me.
  20. No way. He will always be a legend for that semi final goal against the Jam Tarts. There was mayhem in Easter Road that night.
  21. He did that again yesterday whe he appeared to be caught in no mans land. Hopefully he will learn to judge these situations better in future games.
