  1. I thought the same and to be honest it sounded a bit desperate. Anyway time will tell if we have the metal to bounce back against the best team in the league.
  2. I caught the last few minutes and he mentioned about the problems of playing on the plastic pitch (something about he didn’t want to make excuses but was only stating facts about this kind of surface).
  3. I know it’s only a very small section of our support (to date 88 members have cast their vote), however, the poll shows that people are either not bothered who makes our kit or are happy to continue with Puma/Genesis Sport. Interesting to note that the option of moving to a different supplier received the fewest number of votes, and that appears to be exactly what we are thinking of doing. For the record, I voted to continue with Puma/Genesis sport as I think in the main they have done a good job. In an ideal world I would like to see us to design and brand our own kit, however I am sure that is not as easy as it might seem. As a fan of kit design I do care about who makes our kit, and for me the design and quality of our kit is paramount. I only hope whoever gets the nod take some time to look over our kit archive and ask which kits worked and which didn’t work so well.
  4. If we can't replace any released loanees we would surely have the smallest squad to pick from in the SPFL. Not good if we get any serious injuries or suspensions.
  5. I rarely buy tops, however the Puma 1960s retro 125 anniversary top was excellent quality, although this wasn’t designed to be a matchworn shirt. I always found that the Xara gear was also very good quality but I have to admit that I am no expert when it comes to material. As for the design you are in the lap of the gods as regards the templates any given company produce. Apart from the addition of a band or hoop we have no real control over any other aspect of the design. I enjoy creating fantasy kits, but they only exist in my own digital world. So as regards any new supplier or design we will just need to wait and see what templates are on offer and choose the one that best suits our needs. As always I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with and surely it can’t be as bland as the recent black away kit.
  6. I will be shocked if have any new faces in our squad in January. The cup exits and the fact we probably couldn’t give away any of our players at the moment (apart from Hutchy) might put a damper on any transfer activity. I am afraid we will need to stick with what we have got.
  7. Hopefully you manage to collect a few bob, however, after Saturdays nightmare the crowd might not be as large as you were hoping for. Good luck anyway.
  8. We could have done with eleven Joe Warks’ on the park on Saturday. None of the players who played in the Rovers shambles could lace the great mans boots.
  9. Do you think that may change, due to the fact that the authorities appear not to be able to distinguish ( or should that be extinguish ) between the two. The fact that the BBC used a picture of the smoke bomb from the Rovers game to illustrate their article appears to confirm this.
  10. Compared to flares we all know that smoke bombs are relatively harmless but I am afraid who ever is bringing them in needs to stop or risk being banned and the club fined. I personally have no problem with them, however, the authorities have taken a different view. Just out of curiosity does any one know if we have been fined for any of the previous smoke bomb incidents? If so, how much?
  11. The Albion Rovers debacle was certainly the cherry on top of a Sevco/Aberdeen ‘Cupcake’.
  12. I think this is the one you are thinking of. This is the Bukta copy version that I worked on for the club shop.
  13. Remember the day we lost to Airdrie in a semi final replay? I still have nightmares.
  14. Here it is in action as worn by Bobby Watson...
  15. Our 70s white C&A sash top looked a bit like this... although the claret sash was on top of the amber one.
  16. Our 70s Umbro white C&A sash top is my favourite Motherwell away kit and I would be delighted if that one made a return.
  17. Agreed, it would be important not to loose our “signature hoop’ identity like we did through most of the 70s and early 80s.. Apart from a few interruptions since then our claret hoop/band has been around since 1928 and we need to keep it.
  18. Same here, although they already have my money through my season ticket, however, I will think long and hard before deciding if I will go along to this one. I fear that there could be a very small Well support in the ground on Friday night and possibly one of the lowest ever for a match against one of the Old Firm.
  19. Did you witness this rollicking or is it a story passed on from a friend of a friend of a friend? Incidentally I hope both the manager and the team got a rollicking after that shambles on Saturday.
  20. I have been going regularly since 1965 and it is certainly in my personal top 5 of worst ever results. For a full time team to be beaten by Albion Rovers (they currently sit second bottom of league 2!) is quite frankly embarrassing. It's likely that I would have been at the games where you 'endured worse', but this one was certainly on a par with any previous nightmare performance that I have witnessed.
  21. At least Hearts are having some attempts on goal, something that we should be taking note of.
