  1. Should be a dawdle tonight it’s just a matter of how many Scotland will score. Make sure you have a calculator handy to help tally up all the goals.
  2. Displays like that make you wonder why some big English club didn’t sign Pettigrew. At the time Dundee United was a step up in class, however, he could have easily played at a much higher level. I am sure he must have some regret that he never got the chance to move to a team like Liverpool or Arsenal. I have never been to a Q&A with the great man (has there ever been one?) but I would certainly ask him why a big move never transpired.
  3. A superb display by Pettigrew (and the team) he could and should have played at a higher level. At his height I truly believe he was on a par with Dalglish and without doubt he would have scored in any top league in the world.
  4. McManus had another good game and gets my vote.
  5. Thanks for posting the pic lads It looked superb. Shame we didn’t get a result to match the display.
  6. Since Tommy McLean a whole host of managers have tried and failed to deliver silverware to Fir Park. It’s still early days, however, McCall and his players will need to produce something pretty special to avoid being added to the list. Stuart is well respected as a manager, however, so were many of the previous bosses who tried and failed to emulate Wee Tommy’s triumph. In Scotland, out with the league championship the Scottish Cup is the big one and hopefully we can dust ourselves down and attempt to go all the way in that one. Let’s get right behind the Well and make sure that happens.
  7. I missed the it due to arriving late for the game has anyone got a clear picture of the display?
  8. According to Haircut 100... Is it down to the lake I fear?
  9. For me McManus was the only one to get pass marks.
  10. That could be a big problem, however, hopefully they still manage to pull it off.
  11. Superb, I look forward to seeing the display.
  12. The BBC think we are playing Morton on Wednesday... Manager Stuart McCall wants Motherwell to banish the memory of a lacklustre loss to St Johnstone when they face Morton in a League Cup quarter-final... ...And the Steelmen will need to pick up their performance levels if they are to avoid an upset at Cappielow, with a semi-final place up for grabs.
  13. It was a very poor decision as he kicked the ball while he was on the ground Instead of just letting it go out for a corner.
  14. I sure that was mentioned by McCall. He certainly has a hamstring problem, however, I am not sure how severe it is.
  15. Sutton for me as the big man never gives up. He is a really good roll model for any young player coming through the ranks.
  16. I need to start gambling as for the first time in my life I have been getting a few predictions right.
  17. Hearts have a young side, however, they have shown that they are capable of scrapping for survival points. I reckon a minimum of two goals will be required to secure all three points and anything less will result in a draw. I’ll go for 2-1 to the Well.
  18. There can be no hiding place for a string of Motherwell managers (not just McCall) when playing the Old Firm on their own patch. However, our Rangers/Sevco record annoys me more than the Celtic one. The blue half barely break sweat when playing us, and I long for a manager and team who can put an end to that. In my mind our Sevco cup exit still ranks as McCall's worst ever result. I hasten to add that I rate McCall as a manger, but it’s been a long time since I rated a manger/team when we have played the Old Firm in Glasgow.
  19. The only SPFL team to have a go at this mob at Celtic Park in recent times has been Inverness. I am not sure what Terry does to get his side geared up for these games, but whatever it is McCall needs to try something similar.
  20. He is currently holding me captive, and I need to get off here before he notices.
  21. Yet another lack lustre defeat at Celtic Park. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again we might as well not bother turning up against either of the Old Firm. We usually under perform, and rarely look like bothering either of them. I get the impression the players have accepted their fate before these games have even begun. I am struggling to name a recent Motherwell manager or team that showed a bit of belief when playing the Old Firm (and I am not talking about meaningless end of season games). I suppose we just need to accept that games against the gruesome twosome will rarely result in a positive outcome.
  22. Not a song, but I found this interesting ode to Motherwell on some Well fans blog.
  23. Safe in the knowledge that the big team will never ever repeat it.
