  1. Cheers, he was a truly great player for us. Graham and Pettigrew are certainly up there as one of our finest ever strike partnerships.
  2. Same here postie, I was also at the game with my dad. We went up on the Forth, Lanark supporters bus. I’m trying to remember who scored the goal, was it Bobby Graham?
  3. Same here, with almost 50 years of watching Motherwell in cup and league business I would not attend another SPL match. I'm not sure if the small amount who choose to make a stand, will have much effect on our finances, but for me it would be a matter of principal. For those who have already joined the Well Society, you could have inadvertently financed a season of a previously liquidated New Rangers shitting on us from a great height, and thanking them for the pleasure. Sounds good eh? Financially I can understand why Motherwell would vote to re-instate a liquidated Rangers back into the fold, for me, some things are just not worth the money. Hopefully it wont come to, what would be a sad decision of not going to see the team I love. In an ideal world Rangers will come out of administration and any inquiry into alleged past cheating might be totally unfounded. Time will tell.
  4. I only hope the powers at be are listening.
  5. I honestly don’t care, if Rangers have cheated we need to do the right thing and vote NO. As I said in the other thread, if this was any other team out with the Old Firm, they would be told to beat it. For too long the Old Firm have got their own way, now is the time to put a stop to it. I honestly believe that we will be fine without them.
  6. I wouldn’t have thought so, once they have your cash it’s theirs to do with what they will.
  7. I wonder if the Well Society membership recruitment drive will suffer if Motherwell and the other member clubs vote to let Rangers (assuming they are liquidated) back into the SPL?
  8. If it is proven that Rangers have cheated their way to various SPL titles and the member clubs vote to let them straight back in to the SPL, I won't be back. My fear is that the other clubs wont have the balls to say no to Rangers. Lets be clear, If this was a club out with the Old Firm, I believe they would let them rot. I'm sure the loss of my season ticket money won't be a deal breaker to the powers at be at Fir Park. If any ticket boycott goes reaches the hundreds then maybe they will think twice about their decision.
  9. Without doubt our toughest Scottish cup game so far. That and the fact that paw Broon will be desperate to get one over us. This will be a tight game and I can’t see there being many goals in it. I’ll go for a sneaky 1-0 to the Well. Semi Finals here we come!
  10. As you say it is difficult to make out the shape of collar. It looks like Joe McBride in the picture, so it must be around 62-63. Mystery solved. I think.
  11. I’m not sure Andy, I only know that we stopped wearing rugby style shirts in season 1958-59. Unless this was a one off outing for an old top? We wore the classic crew neck hooped top from season 1960-61 through to season 1968-69. There was only a brief interlude in season 1959-60 when we used a V neck hooped shirt. The picture below is us wearing our shiny new kit in August 1960. Another mystery waiting to be solved!
  12. Going by our kit, this looks to have been taken around 1959. I'm not 100% sure of the opposition but it could be Dundee. Also not sure what the keeper has in the back of the net, maybe a giant (lucky) horseshoe?
  13. If we can finish second and win the Scottish Cup it would be very hard to ignore Stuart for manager of the Year. Given the huge gap in financial clout between us and Celtic the media would have to concede that he deserves it. There is still a long way to go and at the moment it’s all ifs, buts and maybes.
  14. We are unlikely to get any more than £250,000 - £500,000. When it comes to strikers Jamie is a bit on the lightweight side. With a bit more muscle on that skinny frame, he potentially could be worth a little more.
  15. Until third is certain, every game is massive, Both St.Johnstone and Dundee United smell blood and will not give up until it’s mathematically impossible to catch us. I have basically written off the remaining Old Firm games as a non starter, hoping that our rivals don’t take any points from these matches.
  16. I wonder if Ricky will be there with his camera?
  17. We are capable of beating all but one of the teams left in the competition. I just hope someone knocks out Celtic, as with them left in it, this team have no chance of cup glory. We have the ability, but not the belief.
  18. Second is probably out of reach, as we need to rely on teams taking points off Rangers, something that we have failed to do since the dawn of time. Despite all their problems, Rangers WILL be runners up. Third on the other hand, is ours to lose.
  19. Even at 1-0 it's all over, it’s just a matter of how many now. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see any other outcome.
  20. To have any chance, we need to be more of a threat than we have been in the first half. The plus point is that longer that it stays 0-0, the more chance we have of sneaking a victory.
