  1. Not as rare as some, I’m sure Willie played around 60 games for the Well. Now a shirt worn by one of Harri Kampman’s signings, that’s what I call rare.
  2. I’m sure it wasn’t far off that at the 91 Final. Anyone know the official number of Well (fans) who were at Hampden in 91?
  3. Talking about supporters buses, I have fond memories of traveling on the Forth, Lanark & Carluke bus around this time. Anyone else travel on the ‘Tennant of Forth’ Motherwell Supporters bus throughout the 60’s and 70’s?
  4. Depending on how both semi finals pan out, it has the potential to set up the mother of all battles against Craig Liar, Liar Brown’s Aberdeen. Now that’s what I call a dream final.
  5. They (Brown/Knox) must have seen something to offer him a deal. I’m not sure of the stats, but has he not scored a few in trial games and bounce matches? I know they are different from a full blown game, but at least it shows he can do it. The only way we will know for sure is to play him from the start. Personally I would begin with Sundays semi-final, it’s a game we are not expected to win so the overall risk is minimal. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  6. I think Jim’s probably busy, still no harm in asking...
  7. McCall and McInnes give their opinion on the spot kick “It was a big decision – and one which has cost us the game,” McCall insisted. “Big Duberry had a bit of a half-hearted complaint, but everyone else looked as shocked as me when the ref gave the penalty. “I asked the fourth official why the decision was given, because we were all in shock, but apparently it was given because Craigan was facing the wrong way and got in front of Duberry. “If that’s a definite penalty then you will see penalties every game in the SPL. Craigan has barely touched him and it’s very, very soft.” Victorious gaffer Derek McInnes even told the assembled press, in the post-match press conference, that he ‘would have been disappointed if the penalty went against us’.
  8. Even with a Rangers team minus Kenny Misser I fear Sunday will be damage limitation from the off. We don’t create enough chances to hurt even the poorest sides. (Apart from Hibs who are truely shite.) If we don’t improve, it’s going to be a very long 90 minutes.
  9. From being a good top six side, we are fast looking like a very average bottom six team. Hopefully McCall has something up his sleeve to try and bring a bit more consistency to our results. And I don’t mean consistent defeats.
  10. On a bit of downer about the result tonight. I can only hope we put on a better display on Sunday.
  11. This is his chance to prove that he deserves his “Goal Machine” tag
  12. We need to get our subs on a bit quicker. No use in giving them the usual 10 minutes at the end of the match. They will need at least the last 20 minutes to try and turn it around.
  13. Pity that rule wasn’t in place today. Scotland gets shafted when it comes to a decent terrestrial TV highlights package. It would be great if we still had a Saturday night show like our English BBC counterparts.
  14. Just a pity the “breaking news” never came from the club.
