  1. You can't deny that we saw some great football Haggis.
  2. With Hateley and Hammell, we had the two best full backs in the country, at that time. We have seen some great football over the years. I felt nostalgic after reading a few posts, looking at the previous squads and remembering some great performances.
  3. Three clubs that can afford to pay higher wages than us!
  4. Good point! I was always bemused that Stark managed the U 21's for what seemed eternity. SFA in the dark ages.
  5. Five forwards are listed in the team, so I'd suggest that Cadden would only get in the squad in place of them. I can't rally argue was out the selection, still much more logical than the senior squad!
  6. Strangely, I'm completely the same. I'm sure the holiday and taxi chat will come back now.
  7. Hateley played almost exclusively in midfield on Poland. I think he would struggle for a starting place in the Hibs team.
  8. Forgot that Laing was out of contract in June. Maybe he'll get a permanent deal with Notts County and negotiate a release in January, rather than coming back here. Good luck to him. I think he has been mismanaged and if we see him in the English Championship in the future I won't be surprised.
  9. Let's just see how he gets on on loan. Personally, I'd rather have seen us play Heneghan with anyone other than McMannus this season. I don't see this 'great leader at the back' that both Barraclough and McGee refer to and I don't think he's one of the better defenders in the SPFL. If he was, plenty of teams with bigger wages to offer than us would have been circling him last January.
  10. I guess Hateley would be out with our wage structure.
  11. McMannus only raises his game against Rangers. If he performed consistently and didn't make silly mistakes we'd be top six, no question. McMannus has the ability, but all to often looks totally complacent. McDonald is getting better in each game. I hope Chalmers proves myself and a lot of others wrong. The only player I have concerns about is Samson.
  12. The substitution,or lack off, cost us. Clay was running on empty and needed off and McDonald wasn't far behind. Blyth doesn't look the most mobile, but dropping McDonald into midfield was crazy. We had McFadden on the bench who could have slotted into midfield and used his experience and also Thomas who could have retained the ball too. Lee Lucas was another option. Ultimately, we lost a point by lack of managerial action, after putting in such a performance.
  13. It'll be interesting to see if he replicates his performance against teams other than Rangers.
  14. Clay was actually quite impressive.
  15. With Ainsworth on the right he constantly checked back infield on his right foot. It became frustrating to watch, especially at 1-1. Johnson was largely anonymous for me, despite his late strike.
  16. Frustrating that McMannus doesn't perform at the same level against other teams as he does against Rangers.
  17. Steelboy with a measured response as usual. In my opinion, Clay performed well and Chalmers looked very assured. I'm one of his biggest critics, but he showed some composure and some nice touches. Totally confused at the lack of substitutions and then, putting on Blyth instead of someone more mobile, or at least replace McDonald with Blyth and a willing runner for Clay. Thomas or McLean would have been a good option.
  18. Attendances over the last four or five seasons have seen a rapid decline. Rangers did well to sustain an attendance of 20000 plus in the third tier of Scottish football. They have marketing muscle and a large fan base. The point surely is, we should be engaging with more youngsters for the future.
  19. Bob Harris is still available after leaving Sheffield United and if only McGee could sign Giliano Wijnaldum. Appears to have lost his way in Germany and only featured seven times in the second division last season. He was a promising young player a couple of seasons ago. Same agent as Nigel Hasselbank...
  20. Bannigan out for up to nine months at Thistle. If we'd signed him, the forum would be in meltdown now!
  21. Was that the ref that was highlighted by Michael Stewart on Sportscene recently?
