  1. McMannus is one of the highest earners at Fir Park and a former Scotland captain with Champions League experience. I've never thought he was particularly great, but I've been very disappointed in his time at the club. I've seen him play dreadfully under McCall and Barraclough equally. Yes, he had a good last few months, but I've judged him over the entire time he's been at Fir Park. He now seems stuck on to feature next season but I'd rather the other players get a shout at forming a partnership together, rather than with McMannus.
  2. Well, at least we know who will be in the team tomorrow! Skippy, Blyth and Johnson up front. Disappointed that McHugh won't be playing.
  3. Also glad that we have a domestic engineering department on the forum now too. I wonder when steelboy will make a contribution.
  4. McMannus has just signed a new deal. I like to see him move on however, most over hyped player in Motherwell shirt I've seen.
  5. In the same respect that we've seen ZFA, Straker and Chalmers trying to replace Hammell and not making the grade, we've had Page, Ramsden, Saunders, Reid and a few others trying to make right back their own, especially since Hateley left. Law was never an orthodox full back, neither was Hateley, that is something we've missed since Corrigan. The joke in the forum over the last two seasons about how many right backs the club had, yet the only one to have settled in that position was Law. He goes with my best wishes.
  6. Totally agree with all the 1991 debate. It is not the European competition that we won, but the domestic cup. Hibs won it last year!
  7. Interestingly, in light of the Robbie Leitch scenario, Newcastle have just signed Stuart Finlay, 20, to their development squad after his 'release' by Celtic. I wonder if this mirrors Leitch going to Burnley?
  8. Being 'free to find another club' whilst under contract is not unusual for players. It may well be that his agent and legal team nay negotiate a severance package, but professional footballers' contracts are very different from employment framework of other employers.
  9. It would make sense to play our strongest eleven against Hibs, who were a very good side last season. I'm really looking forward to the game and seeing some of the new players feature.
  10. Attention. I love Keith Lasley. That is all.
  11. Or his domestic abuse face?
  12. I heard Dundee United were looking at him. They lacked any goalscoring threat last season and I always thought Fletcher had the ability to be a good 18 yard box player. I'd rather give Moore a chance and Blyth might be a better team player though. With Moult, Slippy and Marvin I'd have been pleased to retain that forward ability, but I'm pleased we've adied others to the mix.
  13. He looks like a 70's Stevie Hammell.
  14. The stuff being written in the Plymouth Press is crazy. You'd have thought that we'd kidnapped Carl McHugh against his will or that the player was a master conman.
  15. I saw that Scott Leitch wasn't listed as club staff recently. Anyone know the story or has he indeed left?
  16. Long did very well in some games and was a stand out in the play offs. Grant was untested and 17 years old. Robinson had a good pedigree and was available on a free transfer. Fletcher was injured and Moult excelled at that time. Straker was awful. Clarkson was known to the club as was McDonald and Pearson. Chalmers came with a reputation and was meant to be a prospect. Maybe another player to chuck it after not making the grade at an old firm club. Thomas was an enigma. Taylor cane as an international with some promise but didn't perform.
  17. When was that Stranraer game? I went down for it and was totally embarrassed. Seem to remember Gordon Marshall being left totally exposed.
  18. Hilarious. Got to say, Barraclough is not a bad scout.
  19. Great. Brother in law over from Lithuania, few beers in Leith, Easter Road five minutes walk from home, few beers after then home for the Euro Final. Day planned.
  20. Let us hope that Campbell develops into the player that Stuart Carswell and Jack Leitch didn't.
  21. Right, okay. Let us just stop for a second.... If any player that featured in our first ever youth cup final, bearing in mind the great performances it took to get us there, we're not under contract or at least offers had been made, there us a problem. I'm not blaming any individual specifically, but surely everyone involved in football knew that scouts from the all over the UK and perhaps further afield would be attending that match with a view to identifying players with potential. Hopefully we will get some development fee, but the fact that Leitch has been announced as a free transfer is ominous for us. Looking back over twenty years, I seem to remember ghe Italian FA going ballistic about a loophole that allowed a youth player to join Rangers for free without any compensation. Rino Gattuso. Let is just hope that somewhere in the crazy laws of development we have an argument for demanding a fee!
  22. If Robbie Leitch gas gone for free, real questions need to be asked and the board need to be held to account.
  23. So no compensation for a youth player who is destined to join an EPL team. Crazy.
