  1. No mentions of injury to McMillan, only Hammell who is doubtful tomorrow night so I reckon its a safe bet the youngsters involved against Celtic last time out will be involved in some capacity tomorrow night.
  2. In terms of players going out on loan, Chris Cadden spent half a season with Albion Rovers helping them to win the league 2 title before breaking into our first team, so i'd say providing the young players have the right attitude and work rate to want to develop then they would be open to following in his footsteps by going on loan up here, making an impact and showing the manager they could be capable of doing a job for us.
  3. Its an almost no win situation in a way for McGhee because lets say he does pitch in 2 or 3 youngsters and they were to struggle initially and make mistakes he would get criticised for playing them and fans would demand the older players reinstated to the starting line up. Opposite way round if an older player makes a mistake then a demand for a younger one comes in. I believe you need to have the right balance, it was roughly around Christmas time last year we saw Hall and then Cadden emerge into the first team and I would suspect the same will happen again this season.
  4. Blyth scoring after 5 mins tonight although the linesman will be embarrassed when he sees clearly on our twitter video that the ball is nowhere near close to going over the line but we will take it anyway.
  5. Nathan Thomas scored again for Hartlepool today. Ross McCormack missed a penalty for Aston Villa which is unusual for him.
  6. I dont think he was injured I think he was just not selected for the bench, I saw him sitting with the other under 20s lads in the main stand last night, would be extremely surprised if he doesn't play for the 20s on Monday night at St Johnstone.
  7. They are far from dire, McGhee feels the youngsters can only play if they have experience around them, he mentioned that numerous times last year when Hall and Cadden broke into the team saying they needed guys like McManus, Lasley etc to help them through games. Now is the time to get 2 or 3 of Craigan's boys to step up and inject an energy and freshness to the team.
  8. Moores problem was he got the head injury then decided to play on for a while, thus resulting in double vision apparently so he hasn't helped himself in this situation.
  9. Martyn Corrigan named as Caretaker manager at Stirling Albion
  10. Yeah they were initially loans, would love Ainsworth to find the form and consistency he had during his first year on loan up here.
  11. Scott Gemmill replacing Sbragia as under 21 manager, he was with the current Scotland under 19 side.
  12. I see Gunnar Nielsen kept a clean sheet for the Faroe Islands tonight as they drew 0-0 with Hungary. He is now plying his trade in Icelandic top division as well.
  13. Moult has confirmed he is fit again, match sharpness probably lacking so i think its very likely we can see him off the bench on saturday, I believe McHugh is also fit and available again so its good to be back at near full strength, perhaps one positive about having the international break at this stage for us.
  14. I think loans are good if we are short in a position and dont have much time to fill so getting someone in for 6 months or so can be helpful or indeed if you have a lot of injuries. I also prefer loan deals that arent from Scotland as i feel your not developing someone who will go back to a club and play against us. Overall i can see the merits of the loan system.
  15. We do have prospects at that level, its more about the club you play for that you get selected for Scotland rather than ability.
  16. Cadden and Hall both didnt emerge till roughly December sort of time last year and i think will be the same again this year with integrating some of the younger players, gives them a chance to train alongside the senior players, play well with the 20s then when the time is right fire them in. They will get their turn as far as i'm concerned.
  17. Still the potential of free agents to look at as well now!
  18. Yeah she is still on the board as far as im aware, she still sits in the directors box anyway.
  19. HITC seemed convinced Johnson was going to Oxford and didnt happen so would take what that website says with a pinch of salt.
  20. He's back after the international break which is after the dundee game next weekend. Yes a reason given by McGhee that they thought rest over the summer would cure his groin injury even after initial scans hadnt actually shown any damage, was only after he saw a groin specialist that identified the problem.
  21. See McGhee was saying in the press today that Blyth is on the bench tomorrow, Hammell apparently doubtful with a calf problem.
  22. He is still working his way back to fitness from his pre season injury, i dont think he will be far away from full training again.
  23. Roberts missing through injury which for me is an even bigger bonus with Griffiths being suspended, thats celtics two main threats out before a ball is kicked. Pleasing stuff.
  24. I like the cup format that the under 20s are in but the only thing i find farcical about that is the clubs from Northern Ireland and Wales who come in, imagine the embarrassment if one of their clubs won a scottish domestic cup competition, apart from that i like the new formats of the cups.
  25. If we accepted anything less than 500k for Marvin then id be asking serious questions of those in charge. You see average players moving all the time moving for big money. 750k - £1million is the figure we should be demanding, the english clubs have the money so cough it up then we can talk.
