  1. I was told by someone who was involved with the well society stuff that if we got relegated then its administration and this time we might not get out the other end of it, so if we go down we might cease to exist as well. Things might have changed since this les Hutchison guy bought Boyles shares but that's what I was told around October time.
  2. Good to see that Hammell, Ramsden and Craig Moore look like being part of the squad tomorrow night, pleased to see Moore back after such a serious injury.
  3. I agree with what you say Gaz7 however would we be having this thread if we were sitting 2nd/3rd in the table and Hamilton in the bottom 6, I say it would be doubtful, people see Accies being successful and automatically put it down to the plastic surface, having said that its just my opinion on the matter. If we did get plastic then fine, I wouldn't like it but I would accept it but I just prefer the traditional way of football being played on grass like its been for many years.
  4. True as well David but I know clubs especially ours has players who cant train on them during the week then play on a Saturday so these players sit out training on the plastic then turn up and play on the Saturday. Its happened to quite a number of teams this season, but grass for me is definitely a safer bet and I believe if you asked the majority of clubs and players then they would say grass is what they want to play on every week.
  5. Not for me, they should have no place in top flight football, As Gordon Strachan said recently, plastic surfaces are great for training the youths in terms of Technique and skill but that's it and football matches should always be played on grass. They also increase the risk of injury which has been evident to a few players at certain clubs that have played on them this season.
  6. The young players at clubs go out on Friday nights fairly regularly ours included. As long as it doesn't affect their performance on the pitch then I'm not worried what they get up too.
  7. Van Der Gaag and Rob Maaskant who i'm not sure about his managerial credentials were both interviewed on Friday and apparently were very impressive in what they said to the board.
  8. I believe Kenny Black and Billy Stark are getting interviewed for the job as well.
  9. Was told yesterday both O'Brien and Ojamaa would be going back in January if the well society takeover as we cant afford to keep them apparently, but might be different story if its true that this South American mob are interested in taking over.
  10. Albion Rovers at home to put to bed their beating of last season.
  11. McLeish is at Racing Genk in Belgium so that rules him out, Id happily take Butcher back, would also be happy with Owen Coyle! Mackay wouldn't entertain us due to the fact he is way out our league in terms of wages etc.
  12. I would like to see someone like Owen Coyle or Ian Murray at Dumbarton, but I dont think Johanssen is ready for the step up as first team manager but may play a bigger part with McCall now away.
  13. We will get another manager nobody expects and has a knowledge of the English game, that's where we have been most successful and will no doubt continue that trend.
  14. We might win in the cup for a change now McCall has left.
  15. It would be done for me also, would only follow the Scottish national team and probably take in the odd game down south.
  16. That means McCall will probably play the slowest team possible then, whatever the best way is to beat a team, then judging by his team selections McCall will do the opposite.
  17. Quinn was gone about 3 years before we signed Reid, we only got Reid last season and it was Mark McGhee who got rid of Quinn. Id only have taken Jamie MacDonald and Paul Quinn over the options above as the rest of them are just as good as each other, well apart from Ojamaa as I feel if he can replicate the form he had when he was here then he would be far better than Clarkson.
  18. Anyone who starts with bob McHugh needs their head checked, this guy will never ever cut it at motherwell and is a division 3 player at best, he's had plenty chances to prove himself and shown up to be consistently shite.
  19. Faddy over Law for me all day long. Even off form McFadden brings more to the team than Law.
  20. I think our club would an attractive proposition for someone to own, I was made aware that Derek Weir had spoken to a couple of potential investors about taking over or investing into the club but would not be willing to do it via the Well Society, but I believe they were waiting till the end of November or something to see if the Well Society can reach its targets.
  21. Double Sessions don't guarantee anything and probably wouldn't change anything under the current regime. The whole thing needs a fresh approach and fast, the manager doesn't know what to do to fix things and it will only get worse for us, we don't have an owner coz we somehow think this joke of a Well Society will suddenly be the saving grace when quite frankly it will never reach it desired financial target. We also need to overhaul the youth set up in terms of recruitment and better quality coaching, if we can fix all these things then perhaps things will look better!
  22. Here is the managers thoughts on todays game, he has been saying the same stuff all season!
  23. Paul Hartley and Jackie McNamara have much bigger budgets than Stuart McCall given they pay more on wages and have bigger squads, Dundee signed 12 players on good wages and are backed by a group of businessman from Texas, we have fuck all of anything. John hughes and the others will have smaller budgets but probably had a more professional approach in terms of fitness and organisation of games pre season which is why they are currently doing better than us.
  24. Sutton wont be dropped due to McCall saying he is vital at winning headers at defensive set pieces and lasley wont be dropped simply coz he is the captain. They are first names on the managers team sheet. I actually think Angol will come in at left back, Carswell will come in for Leitch in midfield and I can see Ojamaa replacing Law to join Sutton up front. Any other changes id be surprised at, I don't know if O'Brien is suspended or if it just counts in cup games.
