I know the chief scout of Blackburn was at the Ross County game with Darren Jackson, they had been at the Rangers game as well, not sure who they are watching right enough, I'd suspect perhaps Moult.

Good to see its confirmed in Motherwell times today that we have Frear back for this one, Hammell fit as well but i cant see him starting on saturday. Will be interesting to see if we bring Carson and McHugh back into the side.

I'd have thought probably McFadden would be the last one.

The other thing that speaks volumes to me is that both Craig Thomson and John Beaton have been demoted to the championship this weekend for their performances on Saturday. I'd have thought that might look favourably on our appeals.

McManus has been a good servant to the club but the Edinburgh City cup game showed he was finished as a player at our level, he can be asset off the field with the experience he has coaching our young defenders who hope to become 1st team regulars in the future.

We have a better squad than last year, thankfully a lot of the deadwood has gone, once we get one win in the league i can see us putting a run together. I also believe we will comfortably avoid relegation this season and expect to see us ideally challenging for a top 6 place but more likely 7th or 8th in the league.

My opinion is its not a foul and that wont change however it's over with and justice was done in the end by beating Dross County.

Nothing wild about it, i've watched several times and see absolutely no foul whatsoever, football is fast becoming a non contact sport.

Shove my arse the county player went in for a ball in a 50/50 he had no chance of getting, Carson made a double save I had a great view at the game, there wasn't a foul to be given there. Finnie is one of the worst refs going in Scottish football, I believe we can win the appeal.

A few had cramp last night so i dont think it will be too bad, certainly the guys who came on last night, Maclean, Bowman and Fisher have given Robinson something to think about they changed the game for us last night when they came on. Tanner was very poor last night so perhaps benching him for Maclean wouldn't be bad idea.

Robinson confirmed he is appealing the red card so I see no reason why it shouldnt be overturned, one of the worst refereeing displays i've seen for a long time last night.

He gave two of them a chance at Edinburgh City and alluded to the fact he felt they didn't believe in themselves that they deserved to be in the team, he put them in believing they are good enough, now it's up to the boys themselves to realise they are good enough and grasp the chance when given it. Robbo will give the youngsters a chance when he feels they are ready, but it's up to them to prove they are good enough to stay there.

I personally think the back 3 can work if you have the right balance in midfield, first half we could see it didnt have the desired effect and we changed to a 442 second half and gave Rangers a real game of it second half. As has been mentioned Robbo isnt afraid to change things when they arent working, so i trust his judgment on things.

Dunne may not the best in footballing terms but his pace is an asset that gets him out of trouble, most teams will struggle to have a player that can outrun him this season, would rather have him against a player like James Forrest than Stevie Hammell.

I'm not overly convinced by Rose in midfield but thats twice now i've seen him and McHugh together and dont think the two of them can play together, i think Bigi works better next to Carl in midfield, so i reckon that Rose and McHugh are possibly too similar as they are defensive midfielders and would be better playing one or the other in midfield. Could be wrong but thats what i took from the game yesterday.

Nope he's retired fully which one of the requests Robinson made when he became assistant.

He was training with us but hasnt been there for a couple weeks so its either he hasn't done enough to get a contract or he is keeping his options open. I did notice when i saw him at training a couple weeks ago, he's not all that big for a defender, i prefer a defender with a bit of height like Heneghan and Kipre.

I noticed in the paper today thats now 12 cup draws in a row that Rangers have had a home tie since 2015 surely thats not a coincidence?

One thing that showed today is that Moult is miles away from being fully fit, i'd go as far saying he's nowhere near fit enough for the rangers game next weekend, thats the worst i've seen him today but i put that down to his lack of fitness/match sharpness.

Heneghan had a tight hamstring and McManus was dropped from the squad for being dreadful so outside them there isn't anyone else bar McHugh who can fill in. Maybe they would look at under 20s and see if they can find someone who can do a Ben Hall and cement a place in the team

Thought he was bang average scored 5 goals in the whole season he was here, which frankly is very poor, was shite for months during the season for us, only found form when McDonald came back and coached him through games, the fact we got 500k in a development fee was daylight robbery in my opinion.

Now confirmed that he's signed for Barnet in league 2.

I noticed last night that Motherwell are the only premiership side that has taken 3 wins from 3 in the group stages of the betfred cup so far, I'd say thats a decent achievement given the number of new guys we have brought in are still gelling into the squad. The one thing i have been encouraged by is the number of goals from other areas of the pitch rather having to rely on Moult all the time, that said if Moult played last night, we would've won by a bigger margin as he'd bury some of the chances missed by Fisher.
