  1. The team probably deserved to be relegated on Saturday's performance. If we don't sell out the stand at Accies the supporters deserve to be relegated too.
  2. Incredible! It's not what you know, it's who you know....
  3. Darren Young basically walked out on them. Must have another club lined up you'd imagine.
  4. I agree and disagree with various parts of what you've said there but I particularly agree with the transfer strategy. There's a young lad, 22 years old, at Airdrie called Andy Ryan who scored 23 goals in 32 league matches this season. Stand out in the division, almost single handedly put Airdrie in the promotion play offs. Meanwhile we sign guys like Blyth and Bowman. I'm sticking my neck out here but I'm saying if Andy Ryan had been given the same opportunities as Blyth and Bowman have he might just have equaled their 1 goal tally. Do we even look at these players? I don't know if he could cut it at this level but I see us signing players who I know can't.
  5. I can reveal then that my mystery player was none other than James Keatings. Obviously not come to pass.
  6. Falkirk had nearly a thousand more fans at their match against Queen of the South. They haven't posted a sub 4,000 crowd this season in the league. Here's a list of our attendances that are worse than Falkirk's lowest attendance which was 4,170. Dundee - 4,078 Dundee - 4,002 Ross County - 3,870 Partick Thistle - 3,759 St. Johnstone - 3,739 Inverness C. Thistle - 3,696 Kilmarnock - 3,684 St. Johnstone - 3,588 Aberdeen - 3,428 Ross County - 3,177 Inverness C. Thistle - 3,131 Falkirk's average league attendance was 5,032. Ours (including matches against Rangers and Celtic) was 4,436. Dunfermline also had a higher average attendance - 4.438. Their crowds tend to fluctuate more but they had 6 home matches with more than 5,000 in attendance compared to our 2 (Rangers and Celtic).
  7. What we need is quality players like Mallan, Morgan & McGinn.
  8. If we go down I think a few Motherwell fans will be in for a shock when they realise teams like Falkirk and Dunfermline are actually bigger than us. Could potentially be a dog fight between Inverness, St. Mirren, Falkirk, Dunfermline and Motherwell just for a play off place, never mind the title.
  9. I agree our signings have been terrible but they were terrible before McGhee came in. I'd suggest that at the very least our transfer policy is being steered in a certain direction and while the manager might have the final, I doubt, for example, that McGhee identified and lobbied to sign players like Bowman, Lucas or Frear. I don't know but it certainly looks like we have relationships with various scouts and agents rather than managers identifying players and then signing them.
  10. St. Mirren have probably been the best team in the division since the winter break. It's not like they have been struggling, they've been absolutely flying. Raith Rovers were on a 15 match without a win streak before Hughes turned up. Since then 4 wins in 8 matches. Gotta put that down as an improvement. Just wasn't enough.
  11. Well McGhee came in and sorted out the mess that Baraclough and Robinson left behind. He did it because he's a much better manager than either of these jokers. Might be the last top 6 finish for a long, long time.
  12. We are all old hands at this football lark. We all should know teams that have been terrible can out of nowhere turn in a terrific performance. And that's what you've got to belief otherwise there isn't much point going to the match. Or even supporting a club like ours. Potentially my last match of the season (I hope!) as I don't think I can make it to the Kilmarnock match (first missed home match in 7 years) and Inverness away I'm thinking about going to but I'm not sure yet.
  13. When his budget was cut McCall went down the pan as well. We have a totally flawed transfer policy that extends back beyond McGhee. The English non league gems idea just hasn't worked with one or two excepions. The team is full of garbage that can't cut it at this level.
  14. Hamilton (H) 0-0 Dundee (H) 2-3 Ross County (H) 0-1 All we had to do was win ONE of those matches and we are probably safe. That's what happens when you appoint someone with an attrocious record in management. To be fair his win percentage is 1% above his 21% at Oldham so I guess that's improvement. How many relegation haunted teams do you need to be with before you actually think to yourself.....maybe I'm not very good at this. I'm asking you Robbo.
  15. McHugh and Campbell were probably our best players today and he chooses Campbell to take off. As poor as we were today Robinson's substitutions pulled a defeat out of a draw. Better not be manager on the first day of next season.
  16. Moult and McDonald were anonymous because we can't create anything.
  17. Well he's a 'big lad' so it wouldn't surprise me if Robinson thought that.
  18. Attrocious. Huge match and we played with the intensity of a pre season friendly in the sun. Ainsworth, Cadden and especially Frear were awful. Supposedly creative players and did absolutely nothing. We weren't going to score in a million years so when Jules came on I actually said "So that's us lost the match because they will score now". Even I wasn't expecting them to get a goal like they did. Jules has sold the jersey again. Absolute garbage. How the hell he is a professional footballer? That he's an U21 international is an absolute indictment on the game. On the performance we deserve to go down. We had nothing to offer. Nothing. Players have one more chance to show us they care but right now this is the group that ending 30 years of top flight football because if we play like that in the next two it will be automatic relegation never mind a play off. In fact, after watching that I'd take 11th right now.
  19. Two now. Probably didn't want Accies going 3 points clear but Inverness have a fighting chance now of escaping the bottom spot. 3 points would be huge today.
  20. Nothing happens at that level for one reason. Like I said it was a heavy influence but it wasn't the only reason and if it was the only reason it likely wouldn't have happened. What people like you fail to recognise is that often clubs like ours are more than happy to go along with what the OF want because it's mutually beneficial. Of course supporters won't accept that because of their own animosity towards the OF which is based on completely different considerations.
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Dom Thomas has had hardly any game time and he deserves a chance to show what he can do. Here's career league totals on the park for a selection of players. Craig Clay - 2,444 minutes over 1 season Ryan Bowman - 1,027 minutes over 1 season Jack McMillan - 943 minutes over 1 season Dom Thomas - 856 minutes over 4 seasons Elliott Frear - 636 minutes over 1 season Lee Lucas - 578 minutes over 1 season So you can see that Elliott Frear has not much less game time coming in in January than Thomas has in his total career at Motherwell. You have to give players a decent chance.
  22. The thing is there is no way referees like Andrew Dallas are the best we've got. The whole thing is a self interested clique with barely any accountability.
  23. It would amount to about 10% of the season total. Our through the gates total for league matches so far this season is 76,113.
