  1. Well let me rephrase it - good options that can actually come in and do a job. No point having dire players who add nothing sitting on the bench.
  2. Not really. Campbell deserves a chance to make an impression but he is 18 and has 2 first team appearances, he's bound to hit a period of poor form or inconsistency like most young players do. Murdoch on the other hand is 22 years old and has over 50 pro level first team appearances. Also, you can't go into a season without options which is what we've done this season. Look at McHugh - out for half the season, playing in defence for a good part of the rest of it.
  3. Weirdly I have no real memories of John Gardiner even though it was within my time frame. I remember Cammy Duncan.....
  4. Jai Quitongo has completely disappeared in the second half of the season. I assume he has a serious injury. I've always liked Peter Grant when I've seen him but he's probably out of our financial grasp. A player I think we'd have a realistic chance of getting and I think would be a decent bet would be Andy Murdoch. He's out of contract in the summer.
  5. This post kind of sums everything up. Some keepers are allowed to have a 'few clangers' (like losing to Celtic by letting the ball trickle between your legs), while other goalkeepers get absolutely barracked if they punch a cross.
  6. An exaggeration. He's not been great but he's had some decent performances like at Ibrox for instance. I'd still pick him over the likes of Clay, Lucas etc. You also suspect he might have the odd goal in him which most of the others clearly don't have. He's not performed anything like as well as last time but he's as good as we've got right now.
  7. Agree. I think Lasley is still an effective player with the play in front of him. He doesn't have the legs to run back after people though.
  8. See former goalie Graeme Smith got sent off leading to his team (Brechin) being thumped 6-1 and dropping out the play off spot for the first time this season. Oops.
  9. McHugh - 90/11 Keatings - 120/37 I'd say that was better than McHugh.
  10. Don't want to tempt fate with a game coming up but I'd say Dundee have the poorest squad in the division, or at least the least quality. There are players from all the other Bottom 6 teams I'd have at Fir Park whether it be Greg Tansey, Ali Crawford, Gary Dicker, Liam Boyce etc but you are really struggling to pick any one out of the Dundee squad. Mark O'Hara is probably their best player.
  11. I thought you meant me as I did this ages ago. But someone else has come along.
  12. Putting it lightly! He's the Craig Samson of the Dundee support.
  13. I think he has potential but it's not a WOAH! signing. I'd say he was better than Bowman and Blyth but not at the level of Moult or McDonald.
  14. Our record against the Bottom 6 teams this season 06 August 2016 Kilmarnock A W 2-1 27 August 2016 Dundee H D 0-0 10 September 2016 Ross County A D 1-1 17 September 2016 Hamilton H W 4-2 26 October 2016 Inverness C. Thistle H L 0-3 29 October 2016 Ross County H W 4-1 05 November 2016 Dundee A L 0-2 10 December 2016 Kilmarnock H D 0-0 28 December 2016 Inverness C. 15. If the table was re-set at the break it'd look like this. Celtic 32 +25 Aberdeen 30 +19 St. Johnstone 21 +4 Rangers 19 +6 Partick 19 +2 Kilmarnock 15 0 Hamilton 15 -8 Hearts 14 -2 Motherwell 11 -15 Ross County 9 -4 Inverness 9 -12 Dundee 8 -12
  16. I thought Hammell did well today as well.
  17. Laing is garbage. Heneghan looks like a bit of a shitebag to me. Was OK earlier in the season but with the pressure on he's fallen to bits. Last week he was a complete and utter joke. If McManus is back before the end of the season I'd have him and McHugh at the back.
  18. Great goal by Cadden, needs to start hitting them like that more than once a season. McDonald's assist for Campbell's goal was absolutely brilliant. Samson's keep us in it 1st half and I actually think he's been one of our best performers since the winter break. I'm giving my award to Allan Campbell though. Made a tackle in the first half that you just know Craig Clay would never have made that prevented a one on one with the keeper. Second half was terrific and got a goal as well. Would be nice to see him lock down a place now. Great attitude. Others should take note.
  19. No....ha ha ha. The poor guy is obviously not rated by the 'Well support.
  20. Been a weird season. Considering our poor home record that was our third 4 goal win.
  21. BTW the dubious McDonald goal makes him our highest scorer in the Premier League era (ie 1975 - now) Scott McDonald - 66 John Sutton - 65 Steve Kirk - 63 Tommy Coyne - 59 Dougie Arnott - 59 Willie Pettigrew - 56
