Ya Bezzer!

I don't actually mind if we don't have a band or hoop once in a while as long as we always go back to it. I'd like to see white shorts back and black socks. I don't think we've ever had black socks in my time as a supporter and it would be a nice wee change.

I'll be doing Munros at the weekend in an ultimately pointless quest to lose weight. Of course the first thing you do when you get off the hill is head to the local pub have a slap up meal and then down a two or three pints of Guinness thereby replacing every calorie you just burned off.

Three main candidates for me were Ruddy, Hateley and Sutton. Hateley has been pretty poor lately, not just a couple of games like someone said, more like 4 or 5 weeks. So I'm going to rule him out. Ruddy or Sutton? Very difficult choice but again I think Ruddy didn't quite do as well at the end of the season whereas Sutton got better and better as the campaign went on and therefore he has the momentum. So I'm going to give my vote to John Sutton.

It was the Falkirk game that did us. They came to our place won 1-0 and got relegated a month later. Having said that match was really the only 'bad' result we had in the whole second half of the season so really we ought to congratulate Brown and the team for being in that position in the last day. Just a wee stat for you, Brown got an average of 1.83 points per game over 18 matches. If we'd managed that over the whole season we would have finished 7 points clear of Dundee Utd in 3rd place. Gannon managed 1.17 points per game over 17 matches which over a season would have had us finish in 8th place.

A month ago I would have said Hateley was our best player this season but not now. He's been garbage since he came out with all this guff about not signing a new contract unless the pitch was sorted and then 'demanding' to be played in midfield. Have things gone to his head? Is he on his way? Certainly isn't playing like he's settled and happy. Wouldn't be surprised if he leaves during the summer.

Just like the rest of the SPL except he has a squad like full of international players.

Amazing result - amazing season all in all. Really we fucked it up on Wednesday, we had to win and we didn't so can't really blame anyone else but ourselves but even so it's hard to stay mad at this team. Surely Dundee Utd will win the cup final, right?

Just occasionally checking the scores so I don't know much else but I never had much belief we could get a result at Ibrox and when I saw the Dundee Utd line up I was pretty much resigned to Hibs getting at least a point. Baring a second half come back by United it's going to the the last game of the season. One good thing, Kris Boyd is more or less certain to leave Rangers in the summer so we'll never have to deal with him again after today.

This season? Highest - 12th Sep 2009 v Rangers 9,355. Lowest - 18th Apr 2010 v Dundee United 3,544. On O'Brien there can't be many players who have started so poorly at Motherwell and went on on to be such good and important players. Disappointed to see him go but if you are a Motherwell fan you just have to get used to it. Can't believe some people are questioning his commitment - did you seen him on Wednesday?

Well we lost the first goal because a clearance out of defence was picked up in midfield by Hibs under no pressure whatsoever from our midfield which was missing in action. Coke wasn't fighting for everything then. In fact for a lot of the game midweek our midfield, including Coke, was completely ineffective and over run. Coke has been all over the place this season. He's obviously a very inconsistent player who is up and down, up and down. I wouldn't hound him out the club but I don't see him being anything other than a squad player who comes in to fill in for people. He's not really suited to playing wide and Jennings/Lasley are much better in the middle, both individually and as a pair.

To be honest I think we should be paying more attention to Tannadice than Ibrox tomorrow. However, you never know Rangers might be in holiday mode and we could summon up one last great performance to get something but its on the unlikely side.

He's basically not been fit since February so I'm amazed Everton have let us play him since he's obviously toiling a bit. He was limping heavily after the match in midweek, if Everton's master plan was to sell him on wouldn't they be saying "hey, we don't want this guy recovering from injury during the summer, give him a break".

I think St. Mirren fans are a bit like Motherwell fans, a player is great until he signs for another club when they instantly become 'over rated' or even 'pure pish'.

He's a much better all round player than he was when he first came here, in fact I think since Ruddy and Hateley haven't done as well in the final part of the season, I think Sutton has become a candidate for Player of the Season. 26 goals in 60 starts isn't a bad strike rate either.

The most mental I've ever gone at Motherwell scoring was when Willie Kinnieburgh put us 4-3 up against Celtic when we had been 3-1 down at half time. Of course we blew that in the last minute! But last night is right up there.

I've already mentioned it but Hibs ceased as an attacking force when Riordan went off. I'm not sure it was a case of us finding our game. And to those that say Hibs are 'pish' they are quite clearly one of the best attacking outfits to come to Fir Park in many a year it's just at the back they are as bad as we are if not worse. The really amazing thing about last night was it could have been, without exaggeration 15-2 to Hibs or 9-6 to us!

They always say 'things even themselves out over the season'. Well it's looking right now like a perfectly good goal disallowed against Rangers could prevent us from finishing 4th and automatically qualifying for Europe. If ever there was a time for the 'things even themselves out' theory to prove it's self then it's at the weekend.

It was the last home game and we could have sealed European qualification. That combined with the price reduction increased the attendance but I'm not so sure if it had been an 'average' match the price reduction would have worked as well. Also Hibs support was poor by their standards but even so they probably brought two or three times as many as the likes of Falkirk and Dundee Utd have recently who probably only brought a couple of hundred each. That should also be taken into consideration when praising the attendance.

First of all recently we've been playing good teams. The Dundee United side is pretty good and going to Celtic Park is never going to be easy. For all Hibs poor form they have some terrific forward players - Riordan and Stokes in particular are a cut above most of the players in this league. You'd probably have them both in an SPL XI. Secondly, if you are being honest Ruddy hasn't been anywhere near as good in the second half of the season than he was in the first. Even during the good run he didn't have a lot to do because the players in front of him were talking care of business. He's conceded poor goals in the last two games and then there was the terrible mistake up at Dundee Utd. Thirdly, I keep saying this over and over but defending does not start at the 18 yard line. Recently we've been missing Lasley and/or Jennings and that has probably been the single biggest factor. Without them our defence is much more exposed than it is with them in the team. Hateley, who for 90% of the season has been brilliant for us has been absolutely garbage in midfield. I can honestly say his performance last night was one of the very worst I've ever seen at Fir Park. Fourthly, Saunders is a young player learning his trade and he is very up and down. Sometimes he is great and sometimes he's far from great. I can't remember him making any sort of important tackle of clearance last night and Riordan raped him. In fact probably the biggest factor in us getting a draw last night was the substitution of Riordan because they would have gone on and scored 7 or 8 if he'd still been on the pitch. I actually thought our worst defender last night was Reynolds. Maybe he was thinking it was his last appearance at Fir Park and the occasion got to him....however if any scouts were watching him last night he won't be going anywhere.

I'm sure the official attendance is about right, in fact I was surprised it was that high. Around me it wasn't much different. If you went five seats either side of me in my row, row in front and the row behind there was probably 7 or 8 empty seats. Really the East Stand has to be completely full for the attendance to be 7,000+.

I think it's somewhere around the £2 - 2.5m mark.
