Problem is we probably didn't sign this guy for sweeties. I'm guessing as a Danish international that's played at a good level he's probably one of our higher earners. Some times there are unfortunate circumstances and every transfer has a risk element but I can't help feel for a club with not much money we squander rather a lot of it. Over the last five seasons or so player turn over has been huge, and an awful lot of those players have contributed nothing. I don't think our 'bang for buck' has been quite where it should have been over a period of time and it's something we should be looking to improve on.

We should be using last weeks results going into this game. Firstly our performance just wasn't acceptable and everyone needs to find a different level of performance. The fact that we are playing at Ibrox doesn't matter. We need guys to stand up this week. Secondly Hearts showed that Rangers aren't unstoppable and while I didn't see the whole game, only the highlights, surely we should be pouring over it to see what Hearts did to basically stop Rangers dead in their tracks. I also think Rangers result last week can be used against them this week. Rangers will know dropping more points is a big no-no and is potentially nervy for Rangers. If we make it difficult we can use 40,000 Rangers supporters in our favour. Of course we need to keep it locked up to do that and for me we really need to look at the full back positions because the guys that played last week aren't good enough defensively.

To be honest I don't think anyone should be getting picked out this week. We failed as a whole today, right through the starting XI and up to and including the manager. Tough couple of weeks coming up. Everyone will have to step up because today was a no show.

Have said it before but I'd play Cole over Long in this set up. Long is a two up front guy.

Hard to imagine a more comprehensive pumping. Match analysis will be pretty simple. Aberdeen defended better, were better in midfield and more dangerous going forward. Our manager didn't react quickly enough tactically to obvious deficiencies and the first couple of substitutions were pointless. Overall it could and should have been more than 0-3. A total failure from top to bottom.

Would love to win this one but as a long term fan I know that these are exactly the kind of games we get nervous about. I'm assuming Aberdeen will have McKenna and Devlin playing together for the first time in a while so you'd imagine that they will be stronger defensively. Cosgrove isn't much more than a big rough boy hopefully we can match him physically. Shay Logan has usually been a decent player at this level but recently he's been absolutely stinking. Would suggest that might be an area we look at.

The thing with managers in recent day Scottish football is that you don't have to be any good to have 'relative' success. If you have 10 dopes taking a maths exam one of them will still be top of the class. The jump up to English football level is colossal.

Went for Hartley.

See Jason Krones has started the last couple of matches for Albion Rovers.

First half performance was good. St. Mirren had 9 or 10 players behind the ball most of the time but we manage to keep possession, spray some passes around and create a few chances. Great finish from Scott and I thought we missed him when he went off early in the second half. Second half you could see echoes of the Ross County match. Started to look a bit nervous and weren't putting in the defensive work, either preventative or clearing our lines. Too slack and allowed St. Mirren to come back into the match and at a 1-0 the game was still up in the air. Was glad to see Maguire fitted right in. Like Scott I think he's got the potential to be an excellent player for us.

As others have said St Mirren have been pretty stuffy this season. Only conceded more than 1 goal in 2 out of 7 league matches and one of them was late in injury time. Rangers, who put 5 past Aberdeen and 6 past Hibs only managed 1 against St Mirren. Might well be a tight and frustrating match today, maybe it's going to be down to one defensive mistake.

I'd pretty much agree with everything up until your comments on Cole. I thought Cole showed today he links up far better than Long does. He had some really nice touches and lay offs around the 18 - 20 yard area. Having said that Long has a couple of goals without really looking like a player whereas Cole doesn't really look a goal threat. I'd rather play Cole right now, have some joined up play and hope he can contribute goals at some stage. The problem today was we were sloppy in midfield and there were too many over hit forward passes but I thought Cole showed a hint of something.

I thought James Scott was our best attacking option.

I'd agree about the sending off but Robinson says it was never a yellow and to be fair he was a lot closer to it.

Strange game. Almost like a pre-season. Slow, players looked rusty, oh and sunshine. Lots of chances created by both teams but the goalkeepers had very little to do. Before we scored I felt like Ross County created more and better chances, really too many for a visiting side of Ross County's calibre. Well taken move and goal looked like it was going to give us the three points but then we missed a great chance to make it 2-0. Echoes of the Celtic match in that we couldn't hold a lead for very long and crumbled a bit under pressure. We've conceded 10 goals in the last 5 and a lot of them have been really cheap goals.

Need to keep an eye on Ross Stewart today. Seen him a few times over the last year or so and he always impressed me.

I want to formally apologize to everyone as I put Motherwell on my coupon this morning.
-
Donnelly keeps his run going - 5 league matches, 5 bookings!
-
Apparently we should have pumped them. Looks like the score flattered Hearts a bit. Anyway. Tee hee at Hearts and Levein. Fucking hate them.
-
I've been supporting Motherwell for more than 9 games.

WHY CAN'T WE HOLD A LEAD!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing this one.
