One of the things you don't need to worry about with Erwin is his technical ability. Just hope we are getting him on a contract.
-
We were absolutely nothing until Thomas came on. Not everything came off for him and Moore but their desire to fight and get on the ball dragged us into the game.
-
Fans seem to be obsessed with this guy. I might be wrong but it looked like a relatively clearcut red card to me.

On paper, probably one of the worst starting XIs I've ever seen for Motherwell so I went into the game with low expectations. Whatever is going on, it's almost impossible to compete when you have the experience of Hammell, Lasley, McManus and Pearson all missing. And true to form, we looked like we were in for a hiding as we didn't resemble a professional team whatsoever in the 1st half and the new signings left a lot to be desired. Strangely though, St Johnstone took pity on us when we went down to 10 and left scope for Thomas, Erwin and Moore to take the game by the scruff of the neck later on. Which they duly did. All in all, pleased with a point and encouraged by the potential of the 3 young ones that have a bit of quality, heart and bravery on the ball. Another positive was the energy levels towards the end, a marked improvement on McCalls time. Couple of signings required by Monday but they have to be of a higher standard than the debutants on show today.
-
Further verification today that a competent midfielder is an absolute must by Monday.
-
That sounds very feasible to me. Who knows if the back injury is 100% genuine but Vigurs reputed attitude is never going to sit well with Baraclough.
-
Loss of Pearson would be massive. Somehow need to try and pinch a 1-0.
-
So a new chief scout has been appointed.
-
That's one of the few areas where I disagree with Baraclough's impressive rhetoric. While we have came unstuck this season due to injuries, years of moderate success has been based on quality over quantity. I'm all for competition but hopefully it's predominately from the youth setup.
-
The lack of media interest in Motherwell these days is highlighted by the fact nobody knows the length of his contract. I very much doubt he'd be expensive to get rid of but even if we don't start getting results, I think he'll get full support of the club for the foreseeable given the role of the new regime in his appointment. Back to transfers, central midfielder and a striker a must.

Southend fans apparently weren't fussed about him leaving but acknowledged he was good 'on his day'. Sounds like a left sided Ainsworth, minus the goals. Doubt he was close to the top of Huddersfield's scouting database but hopefully he'll prove to be a decent short term measure. Thomas is left sided but can play anywhere.

Laing sounds like a prospect that has been on the radar of big clubs since a young age. And his recent loan spell at Notts County appears to have went very well. A centre half with the right character who is comfortable with the ball fits with the Baraclough prototype but surely if this materialises, there must be 1 or 2 defenders on the way out. Albeit he is reported to be versatile...

Wonder if the game will be off in order to let the new signings settle in.
-
We must have something lined up if we're letting him go before Saturday. Wish Ojamaa all the best, he was too good for the dross that surrounded him for much of the season. Shame he's leaving just as Erwin and Moore find their feet.
-
That tends to be the case but on this occasion the club haven't been shy in building up our hopes with regards player movement.
-
St Johnstone were playing their 3rd game in 6 days and ripped the pish out of us in the 2nd half, prompting McCall to chuck it. Reports from Tannadice are very encouraging but it must be backed up by further progress this week.
-
Baraclough might have been playing it coy but it seemed the Dayton move was being engineered by his agent rather than Motherwell. Hopefully the promised busy week kicks off today.
-
Paul Dixon supposedly available. Imagine he'd be well outwith our reach sadly.
-
Ojamaa's wee brother rumoured to be on trial at Hibs.
-
Pleased to see that Moore involved in the last 2 games. Wonder if there is a possibility of him and Erwin lining up either side of Sutton. Two really good prospects that are ready to standout in this league.
-
Sounds like we've been competitive and carried a threat through Pearson. Progress.
-
That's what I think it'll be. Ridiculous amount of dross but options obviously limited. Meanwhile, the United lineup looks decent despite resting 7 usual starters.
-
Shame the offer has fell at a time when demand is so low, which possibly jeopardises similar initiatives in the future.
-
Said it for some time but an athletic fullback is a priority. Ben Gordon caught the eye at Killie and I was surprised to see him end up at Ross County. Watt looks a decent prospect but ideally would he not be pushing for a right back spot? Too much of a jump to expect him to play well regularly given the severity of our predicament.
-
Yeah of course, however I wouldn't hang on to our current points tally as a reason to why we will finish above both St Mirren and Ross County. At present, Teale's St Mirren is a better outfit than Motherwell. It also can't be discounted that we have picked up 10 out of our 17 points from the 2 below us and that particular tally flatters us when you consider the corresponding performances. Meanwhile, I don't think there is 1 game this season where you could say we were hard done by.
