  1. Didn't see the Sky Interview with Weir but I gather Butcher was the other.
  2. Some very mixed performances from Motherwell in a game that could have finished 0-5 or 1-1. Overall, solid performances from ZFA, McManus, Carswell, Ojamaa and Ferguson, while Twardzik was a standout again. Celtic lost all discipline as the 2nd half progressed but what a difference when we made the substitutions. Erwin didn't cover himself in glory with the header and dives but he and Ainsworth proved a handful. Hopefully the new manager can fit the two of them and Ojamaa in the same team. Ramsden and Kerr can leave anytime. Lack of discipline, quality and heart. Massive 3 games ahead. Motherwell must get our house in order this week.
  3. Bbc don't know. McCall did mention that one of the candidates phoned him for info during the week and is due to be interviewed. McCall didn't know the guy but was impressed by his research.
  4. Despite the confidentiality clauses, I'd have expected an update from the WS now but they just refer you to Burrows Q&A. Will WS members get a say on potentially revised model before final takeover bid is submitted?
  5. I've not noticed Tony Mowbray in the betting before today. 18/1. That's the kind of left field shout I'd be chuffed with.
  6. Shiels would fit in with the community remit and would give the young ones an opportunity in first team. Knows how to win a cup for a provincial club too. His own intensity tends to undermine him though.
  7. Butcher combined with fan ownership. Just get on the phone to Bryan Jackson the now...
  8. Regardless of my concerns around the Well Society being a sustainable model, the current predicament doesn't sit well with me. Taking over the club with a loan, primarily to address current shortcomings on and off the park, is not financially astute and is inevitably going to lead to some very tight years ahead - at best. I appreciate there isn't many alternatives, if any, out there for fresh investment but I'm distressed by how we have seemingly been driven to the brink by Dempster & her sheep.
  9. Repeat of last year. 0-5. Do not want to go.
  10. Reading between the lines I suspect the WS have done what's required.
  11. If Ojamaa goes, without being adequately replaced, we will be relegated. He deserves to be playing with much better players though.
  12. Seen it suggested a few times that Clarkson was offered buttons. If that's the case, McCall should have came out and told the truth.
  13. Regarding attendances, the message in the summer was that we have a small core support and there was no option but to fleece us on order to preserve a high quality squad. Hence the ST increase and ridiculous prices for the Icelandic mob. Then after that particular defeat the club go into hiding for a month with no attempt whatsoever to cajole a wavering support. The repetitive gloomy rhetoric from the Board over the last 3/4 years has driven us to our lowest support in my lifetime. Fingers crossed for an external takeover next week and sweeping changes. The club is currently riddled by incompetence.
  14. Depressing watching the highlights with so many spaces in the east and cooper. Certainty not a picture to suggest that the club could survive fan ownership. On the game, how many times are we conceding a goal from Sutton losing his man? If it wasn't for his track record against Celtic, I'd be dropping him next week.
  15. Outstanding performance from Twardzik. Good first half from ZFA and Vigurs while Ojamaa was a menace throughout.
  16. Really good first half. Poor second half. Twardzik fast becoming my favourite player. Team gave it their all but we've been left with a team that is not good enough to compete with the better teams in this league. Sad to see Lawson go off injured after his best 45 minutes for Motherwell. Most alarming stat of the day was the attendance. 2,800 Motherwell fans at FP for a Scottish Cup game. Time those remaining in the Motherwell hierarchy, Society included, take some responsibility for running the club into the ground.
  17. A season ticket which would have previously got you in for free tomorrow. Not this year though, fans had to up their game in order to maintain budget and calibre of player...
  18. Pretty grim if true but it questions the merit of the scaremongering tone that accompanied the £10k loan letter.
  19. So the confidentiality is down to the potential backer of the 'Well Society. Fair enough. Does the 'Well Society know the detail of competing takeover bids?
  20. Not the same since they moved it from January. Armstrong looked to be back on form last week and I can't see us riding our luck again. 0-4 despite Ciftci being suspended.
  21. Cheers for the update Steelboy. So is the Society goal the original £800k or the additional £1mil?
  22. If it wasn't for the society, maybe we'd have cut our cloth accordingly a couple of years ago as opposed to providing a safety net for wreckless budgeting and boosting Dempster's profile.
  23. It seems fans will be informed of fan ownership after a deal has been concluded.
  24. So for legal reasons in these delicate times, there will be no update on Motherwell's ownership at tomorrow's Well Society meeting. I don't mind being patient during such critical times but with McCall jumping ship, time is of the essence.
