So, not the first time we've been well beaten by a John Hughes team. For all his critics, he is capable of getting a well drilled team on the park playing good football. The results just don't seem to be sustainable over a season. Black's comments post match were in stark contrast to what we've came accustomed to during the McCall years. Rarely has the player's dedication and desire been called into question.

I think Erwin, Moore, Cadden and Thomas provide scope for optimism should they be given the chance, however they need better quality and experience around them. When you've got boys like Kerr and Reid at fullback who struggle to control a ball, complimented by no steel or creativity in midfield, we don't have a squad capable of providing a platform for the young ones to flourish. Here's hoping for sweeping changes on and off the park in the coming months that focuses on providing an environment for young talent to develop.

No surprise with result and reported performance.
-
No idea of their origin but there is clearly other parties looking to take us over this month. Lasley and Black were relatively open about the uncertainty in yesterday's press conference.

Hard for fans to prevent if we continue to be kept in the dark.

Think it was initially mentioned that he would be out for 5/6 weeks. Years of playing through niggles maybe catching up with him.

Usually the section that resides in Motherwell. In saying that, admin isn't far fetched when you think how John Boyle soft loans have kept us afloat in recent years. You wonder what would happen if a takeover wasn't to come to fruition this month.

Would be pleasantly surprised if we could come close to repeating the Dundee United performance. Think Inverness will be too good for us in midfield and I think our lack of quality at the back will undermine the potential of Ainsworth, Vigurs and Ojamaa. 2-0 Inverness.

Outwith those backing the 'Well Society, is there potentially an alternative local offer on the table?

Cracking result. From any highlights I see, we are pressing and moving the ball well from middle to front. JJ seems to be doing a good job and judging by his post match interviews, he comes across as the type of character you want for developing kids, -

Couldn't see us appointing a new manager given the uncertainty over ownership. Hopefully it is resolved by the end of the month and Black and the players can do the business while we are in limbo. Crunch games are coming thick and fast. -

Lasley said we tried it in Perth. Actually reminded me of how Ojamaa and Law used to link up. -

How chuffed did McCall look last night. Revitalised. -
While interviewing McManus on the radio, Peter Martin indicated that ownership will be decided in the next week.

I'd have taken Adams a few years back, based on the rise of Ross County and their approach and performance in the Celtic semi. Since then though, Ross County's style of football has gradually deteriorated. He's also burned a lot of bridges in Scottish football. For one that holds a grudge, I can't see him returning to Fir Park and hitting it off. Would take him over the likes of Leitch though. -

Admittedly very small market but that's a bit of a move which suggests someone has had a punt with some inside info or is plain daft. Keane went from 16/1 to heavily odds on with Celtic in the summer. He had been offered the job though. -
What has Derek Weir and the Board been primarily working on in the run-up to the November deadline? Seeking private investment or supporting the rise of the Well Society? I imagine their preference is somewhere in the middle.
-
It's speculation regarding Coyle but I doubt it is pure fabrication that an approach was made. Obviously we have no chance of getting him. If our immediate future is so uncertain though, I doubt we'd be going down the route we seemingly are in seeking a replacement for McCall. I hope you are right regarding Boyle's intentions on future ownership. If it is the case though, I struggle to understand the increased pressure that's seemingly been put on the 'Well Society.
-
Surely there is a more credible offer on the table in order for the club to have the 'Well Society jumping through hoops at the moment. Would the club have the audacity to make an approach to Owen Coyle if the imminent future of the club was so uncertain? Time to hear from Boyle.
-
This is a tad surreal. Is the prospect of an agreement between Nobby and Boyle so close that fans are lending £10k+ on mass? If there is constant negotiation between multiple parties, how can we can genuinely be looking to recruit a new manager at present? By the way, I'm afraid the 'statement' is a panic ridden ramble.

Fair bit of exposure for McKinlay tonight. Clearly interested. Real strong candidate IMO. -

If we are approaching the likes of Coyle, I'd expect Burley to feature on a list of prospects we are sounding out. No odds on Nolberto Solano yet? Wonder if he's a front man for this rumoured consortium and/or looking to progress his management/coaching career. -
I like O'Brien, proper defender. If he gets a run of games, I fancy to him to be a standout performer.

Was good to hear that Ciftci is suspended for the cup game, which was partly the reason why Dow played upfront. Bad news is Hammell being our for 4/5 weeks.
