  1. Good test ahead of our European campaign. Would expect Newcastle to bring a decent support despite the game being on a Tues.
  2. That's the boy McCall signed from the co-op. No chance.
  3. Boyd parading the cup prior to 2011 final was a tough one to take. Shame, as he was my first hero. Wish I was around for the Joe Wark days but Rab McKinnon was a pleasure to watch.
  4. All the best to him. Hopefully we have a sell-on clause as I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a move to Germany within a couple of years.
  5. Tony Watt seems to be getting linked with a loan move to a few SPL clubs. Not keen on loaning players from other SPL clubs but if he is up from grabs, McCall will have been working with him all week...
  6. Wotherspoon is someone that desperately needs a fresh start. I'm not sure if it is a lack if confidence or motivation that has held him back at Hibs. Watching him for Scotland under 21s, he looks a very capable player. Think he would be a decent option for us.

    Ojamaa

All the best to him. One of the most enjoyable players we've had to watch on my time.
  8. So United will have received over £3mil for Goodwillie and Russell while we'lte probably looking at £400k for Murphy and Ojamaa. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes but something doesn't stack up. Still baffled that we didn't receive a bid for Randolph over the course of 3 years.
  9. Alarming albeit expected that we made a loss despite finishing 2nd and making a wedge from gate receipts against Panathanikos, Levante and Rangers. There is no disputing that the club has been ran well in recent years but the idea of budgeting for top 6 and decent cup runs is an incredibly risky model for a business with no debt facility. Not up to scratch with 'Well Society but I've had huge doubts about its viability from day 1.

    Ojamaa

Has Ojamaa got the same agent as Law, Hutch and possibly McCall? Or am I making that up?
  11. Probably just a lazy link but we are supposedly interested in Wylde. Pretty sure Hibs were keen on him in January. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/10457806.Counting_the_cost_of_Gregg_s_Wylde_time/
  12. Quite happy for us to sign a couple of experienced SPL players on the basis that we will take advantage of the under 24 market down south. Harkins would be a good addition as long as we surround him with pace and movement. A move for McCourt would surprise me.
  13. Aberdeen favourites I suspect. Humphrey back up in Scotland. Hopefully not heading to Murray Park this weekend.
  14. McCall quickly replaced Murphy with Higginbotham. Harkins became available later in Jan and McCall was left kicking himself.
  15. Harkins wouldn't surprise me after McCall's comments on sportscene a while back. St Mirren reportedly interested too.
  16. STV claiming that Paul McGowan is likely to sign a new deal with St Mirren.
  17. Delighted for Stevie, well done. Las might get a call...
  18. Was surprised to see Aaron Doran sign a 3 year extension with Inverness. They have done well to keep him and Billy MacKay. Hope we aren't interested in Imrie.
  19. Gordon Kerr from Forgewood, think he left school year before big cup win? IIRC, broke his foot playing for Motherwell Bridge the year all his old team mates were getting signed up by Humphries.
  20. Sounds like the same era when my auld man was playing with Dalziiel.
  21. Pretty sure we'll have pursued replacements for Higdon. Would find it a bit strange if Miller wasn't on our radar.
  22. Would love Miller to sign but a few English clubs are chasing him.
  23. If Ojamaa is happy here and has an eye of making it in England, I'd be offering him a deal to make him highest paid player at the club. If he stays, he will be our main man next season and will have better offers than some Polish mob.
  24. Leven would be a strange one, given that we have signed Lawson. Good passer of the ball with decent technique and vision that woukd replace Law's creativity to an extent. However he has had injury problems since he was a kid at Rangers and would struggle to beat Ross Forbes in a sprint. In saying that, we seem to work wonders with players that have previously toiled with injuries.
  25. Fair do's Desp. It just doesn't sit well with me that within weeks of signing a new contract, he cuts short a family holiday to speak to a League 1 club. His success with Motherwell is beyond all expectation. Given the rebuild that lies ahead however, there is a chance that we could end up being lumbered with a squad that a new manager doesn't fancy. As much as we don't want to see a quality manager depart, a change just now would have been well timed.
