  1. Anier, battled away well with little support. Looking forward to see him pair up with Surton. Solid game from the keeper but I don't think he covered himself in glory at the goal.
  2. Was with John Barnes on sportsound. Heat must have went to his head.
  3. McCall has yet to see the wingers we are planning to look at.
  4. McHugh goal would have been the 'icing on the cake'. Fuck off McCall.
  5. Can't wait for this game. Road to Europe starts now.
  6. If we had signed Higginbotham on a 2 year deal I'd have rated that as one of our best signings of the summer. Boy has bags of talent, just needs time to establish himself in his preferred role behind a striker. I think he would have been an indirect replacement for Ojamaa. Not to worry, we have Lasley and 2 fullbacks supporting Anier tonight.
  7. Just can't get my head round why you sign experience like McFadden and then don't use him on the European stage, fitness permitting. Genuinely thought we were taking it seriously this year.
  8. Not so sure about that, he pulled off some remarkable results over the years.
  9. Pa Broon on the telly talking up our chances, saying a goal for us could turn the tie on its head. Despite his flaws, he certainly didn't go into any game with an inferiority complex.
  10. Hugely disappointed but not surprised.
  11. St Mirren fan on P&B suggesting we have shown a late interest in Adam Campbell. Can't see us signing another striker but he sounds like a very good prospect by all accounts.
  12. We have plenty of time to make up points in the league. Full focus should be on doing ourselves justice in Europe for the first time in a few years. Leaving players at home piles unnecessary pressure onto the Aberdeen game. Travelling away with a 2-0 deficit always reminds me of Wembley 99. Glorious failure would be an achievement.
  13. IMO there is little benefit in leaving 2 or 3 behind. If McCall and the players think there is a glimmer of a chance in getting back into the tie, then we should be 100% committed.
  14. McManus looks the player that his cv suggests. Class act but he wasn't tested much today due to Fenlon's tactics. Also really like the look of Lawson although Thurs seemed to catch up with him in the 2nd half. My motm though is Lasley, streetwise performance and I think he kicked on when some others were tiring.
  15. Typically tame early season affair but if anyone deserved to win it was us. Looking at new signings, Lawson continues to impress while McManus didn't have much to contend with. Vigurs has obvious quality just needs to take a wee bit more care on possession. My heart was in my mouth when Anier got put through on goal after he fluffed his lines a couple of times in Morecambe but he kept his composure beautifully. Good start to the season.
  16. I'd go with the same shape. Would also like to see Carswell feature but the experience of Lasley is vital.
  17. Haven't heard Hollis getting much abuse but his presence naturally unnerves the crowd. It will take a few storming performances to turn that around.
  18. Hollis and Neilson 'as good as each other' according to McCall.
  19. Same old story. Given our newly found aerial presence I was disappointed with our set pieces as it was the only way we were ever going to score tonight. Impressed by Lawson and the centre halves but nobody else played particularly well which is disappointing for such a significant game. Absence of Neilson wasn't surprising but is a concern, hopefully we haven't shelled out a decent wage on a dud. Send a reserve team to Russia on a bus and spend the charter money on somebody with a bit of pace and movement. Clear to see tonight that ZFA is no more than an impact player at present.
  20. Would be amazed if we got much more than 6,000.
  21. Would take a nil nil on Thurs with the prospect of a fitter Faddy and McManus maybe driving us to a flukey 1-0 in Russia.
  22. Got a text out the blue today saying we were getting linked with Mark Wilson. Apparently a bbc journalist had tweeted something? Can't see it given the balance of the squad and the need for a right winger but I'm aware that he is interested in a move back to the area.
  23. Is Jack Smith still on trial with the club Noah?
  24. Shame 'Lawsy' tended to shit his breeks on previous trips to Ibrox as opposed to tearing it up. Cringeworthy tweet from a club employee. Not surprising given how much our club hangs out the arse of Rangers/Sevco.
