  1. Burke has been a key player for Cardiff the last 2 seasons and could easily get a very good club in England. Am I right in thinking though he may be looking for a return to Scotland for family reasons?
  2. Higdon is a real quality player. Given that Hearts were also sniffing about him as well however, I imagine he might have something sorted out. I would be surprised if Hearts opted for Sutton over Higdon.
  3. Don't get me wrong, I rate the guy. Saturday however wasn't one of his better days.
  4. How the fuck anyone can go for Gunning on that performance is beyond me.
  5. Fingers crossed this materialises. Listening to Peter Houston yesterday, he seemed pretty confident with regards to having replacements lined up for the two black boys.
  6. Wish him all the best even if it is Hearts. He deserves a hike in wage. Put in a power of work at Motherwell and developed tremendously well. We all knew last season when Juke moved on that Sutton was going to be an integral player for us. If we had a more astute manager at the time, he would have been offered a new contract.
  7. Scott Burns is just waffling but I wouldn't rule it out this time round. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/248498/Old-firm-target-James-McFadden-for-summer-transfer-swoop
  8. Think Page has the same length of contract as Hutchinson. Not sure about the boys that have been out on loan.
  9. With Rangers playing Chelsea on the 3rd Saturday of the SPL season I wonder if we will take the opportunity to reschedule a league match in order to accomodate a glamour friendly against Bradford.
  10. Saunders and Hutchinson are two belting prospects but playing them alongside each other on a regular basis could be detrimental to their development imo as both of them are still relatively raw. Ideally, you are looking for them to fight it out for one centre-half position with an experienced head alongside them.
  11. My wishlist comprises of keeping Jennings as captain and ditching the rest. Bring in an experienced head to play next to Hutchy, a left sided midfielder to offer natural width, a replacement for Sutton and finally, a midfielder that is capable of unlocking defences.
  12. Assuming pre-season goes well, I'd love to have these c***s at Fir Park on the first day of the season.
  13. Aye his review isn't far wide of the mark. Still lost all respect for him though.
  14. Tom Boyd was my original hero. Despite the obvious joy, I remember the regret coming away from Hampden in '91 knowing that he had played his last game for Motherwell. I haven't read what he has said with regards to Saturday's game but it saddens that he never seems to cherish the achievement of '91 in the same light as the rest of the team. I understand that he went on to achieve great things with Celtic and Scotland but given that he captained us to such a historic victory you would think he would take more pride in the achievement. I don't know who was responsible for deciding who would parade the Cup pre-match on Saturday but i wasn't at all comfortable with Boyd being alongside Kirk.
  15. Brown's a shitebag. But when he plays for Scotland he's our shitebag.
  16. I thought the display was very good at the time but looking at the pictures this morning hits home just how tremendous it really was.
  17. Referee's lack of bottle in conjunction with McCall's tactics made for a dire spectacle. I'll never watch the game back but I'm sure the Ref put his whistle to his mouth when Craigan stuck his arm out. I'm pretty sure he bottled it there given what he had let go previously.
  18. I would be disappointed to see any of Jones, Jeffers or Ross still at FP. While they have all offered flashes of good play you can't depend on any of these guys week in week out. I assume Gunning will return to Blackburn. Two belting performances from him against Celtic and Dundee United where he looked like the perfect foil for Hutchy. Good centre half in the making but there is something not quite right with his attitude. I will be sad to see Jennings and Sutton go, two tremendous servants to the club but it would appear they have a desire to move on. Shame they didn't get the opportunity to shine in the final. As for Craigan, I've never really be a fan. Rather fitting imo if his performance yesterday turns out to be his final game where we saw the best and worst of him. Interesting times ahead. I just hope McCall can fulfill the original criteria of the managerial vacancy and bring in some fresh young talent that will generate transfer fees in the years to come.
  19. Must admit I was a bit disheartened by the atmosphere today, I guess part of that is down to the backing Celtic got though. Usually Old Firm fans are relatively subdued on Hampden visits but obviously they have a cause to rally round at the moment.
  20. Full credit to all involved. Done your club proud.
  21. We were never really at the races were we? Shame to because I thought Celtic were looking pretty tired after 50-odd minutes and they could have been there for the taking. McCall clearly put a lot of preparation in to our defensive side of he game but consequently we offered no cohesion going forward. I thought a 5 man midfield was the way to go but the inclusion of Hammell just invited them on to us. Why Hateley wasn't in there I'll never know.
  22. Hutchinson kept it respectable. Hammell may have done a job but his inclusion in the midfield fucked us up big style.
  23. Glad Maloney is out, always a dangers against us. Got a bad feeling about Forrest doing some damage, think he has scored against us a couple of times.
